Yes, rules! Being me, there always have to be guidelines, even if there are only ones for me. I'll get to these more later, but for now, just one.

~ No one may post in here without express permission (or unless they're leaving Linnea a gift whee )

People with permission from DS to post:

My extreme thanks to everyone who helped me in my quest for Linnea...

Uncle Zero and Grondax for helping me bid while I was away, for donations, and for being teh awesome for quite some time...

Faevan, Dio da Goat, and Rairi (who you prolly don't know) for the generous donations...

Cordain, Blarq, and Sai, for supporting me in this and giving me the strength I needed to actually go for it...

And of course, Chiaku-sama, for starting this marvelous place. It's heaven with more nonsense and less of the halos.

It wasn't as if I hadn't tried before. The silverling had caught my eye previously- it shone with an energy that I had never seen before. But I was unsucessful by far. And so I thought to myself, never again. It wasn't as if I was going to quit- but I just thought that I shouldn't have a Fae. Wouldn't it be fickle of me to see a new one and be reattached? Or at least I thought... until I saw her. A beautiful water lily, one of my favorite flowers. If the silver one shone, the lily sparkled, never the same no matter how often it snagged your attention. But several others loved it too, and I felt unworthy. Could I really go for two? Yes. I was assured- by my friends, my family- and even by myself. But just when things were looking up, I was called away. I would leave just before the auction ended. But I couldn't give up, not after all it took to simply be in the running. So I did what I never thought I could do- I left my fate in the hands of another. Several others in fact- long standing friends, newer ones, even some I barely knew. The experience was overwhelming; I was able to trust, and I felt like a winner before the auction had even ended. And I was overjoyed to come back- back to my home, my friends, and my Linnea.

The Silver seedling glows suddenly.

SPECIAL EVENT for DivineSaturn!

User Image

There is something strange happening to Linnea! The atmosphere suddenly becomes drenched in humidity.

SPECIAL EVENT for DivineSaturn!

User Image

What's happening? The air becomes thick with moisture, droplets of dew forming on top of the area. Linnea's crystal begins to glow. Ripples of light flow from its core!

SPECIAL EVENT for DivineSaturn!

The crystal! The world seems to be washed in hues of blue! It's suddenly difficult to breathe, the humidity clings to one's throat and nostrils. Something is happening!

Linnea has been born!

Linnea's Phase I Information:

Speech: A very meek, shy child. She is not prone to making noise, except when she cries. She lets out soft, short noises rather than actual "baby words," and shows desire only by pointing to objects she wants.

Appearance: Large, fish-like fins grow from atop her head and her back. They seem more fit for swimming than flying. She flexes the muscles in these strange appendages unconsciously as a display of mood.

Abnormalities: At the moment, Linnea seems to be free of any obvious physical abnormalities. She is more easily dehydrated than other children, so one should exercise caution in letting her stand in the sun for too long.

Behavior: A very quiet, frightened girl. Her interaction with the world can be likened to the behavior of a rabbit. Linnea often hides behind other people, and stares at the ground rather than looking into the faces of those who are attempting to draw her attention. Besides shyness, she cries easily when scared. Even around people she trusts, she is very introverted and meek.

Linnea's Phase II Information:

Speech: Linnea has begun to speak, although her voice remains a small whisper most of the time. She doesn't seem to be very much of a conversationalist. She politely greets other people and answers questions curtly. If she is confronted by someone who is more confident, she seemingly loses the ability to speak.

Appearance: Besides physical growth, it does not appear as though Linnea has changed too much in appearance.

Abnormalities: Linnea continues to fear the world outside of her home because of the danger of heat. She attempts to travel beneath shadows when she does leave, and makes certain to carry water with her.

Behavior: Even though she has grown, Linnea remains a rather shy child, avoiding others when she can. Little things seem to frighten her even in the teahouse where she lives. She also continues to cling to her mother's side when possible. The fins along her back and head shift with her every emotion.

SPECIAL EVENT for Everyone!

!!!
...A VOICE...

User Image

The children freeze in their tracks, turning their faces to the outer reaches of the village... There's something...there's something... There's a voice loud within their minds!

"We know you are hiding, little rats. It's time to show yourselves!"

Without warning, the children storm out of the village in a panicked run...straight into the forest!

SPECIAL EVENT for DivineSaturn!

User Image

Yuck!! There's mud on the floor! gonk And this dirty shoe...It looks like Linnea got mud all over the house!

User Image

SPECIAL EVENT for DivineSaturn!

User Image

Linnea's changed a lot since you first received her... Hmm... Did she have those fins on her face before? It seems that Linnea's grown!

User Image

User Image

Linnea's Phase III Information:

Speech: Although she's older and slightly more experienced with social situations, Linnea is still terribly timid. She speaks only when a question is being addressed to her and is always very brief with her responses. She calls DS "mother" when she wants attention.

Appearance: New fins have sprouted along her face, arms, and ankles. Linnea appears to be terribly distressed and embarassed about these appendages, constantly hiding her arms from view and allowing her hair to fall in her face. Gills have also grown along her neck, and she must constantly moisten them with water so that they do not dry.

Abnormalities: As when she was a child, Linnea fairs badly in the dry atmosphere of her home. Not only will she constantly drink water, but now she must also wet the gills along her neck. If she is able to, she will attempt to sneak into bathtubs or other water sources to drench herself.

Behavior: Linnea's new appearance is a cause for dismay, and she is even more flustered than she was before around others. She is extremely self-conscious about her extra fins and gills, and attempts to avoid people. She often misinterprets the actions of others, thinking that they are either laughing at her or being hostile. Even though she is older, Linnea continues to collect rocks and stay at her mother's side.

Gifts from Mommy
User Image User Image User Image User Image

I had gotten these for Linnea even before the auction- they'd be for her no matter who she went to. But I'm overjoyed that I can give them to her as her mother. I'm not letting her play with the ones in jars until she's older, but she seems to love that doll...

Gifts from Buffy and Eragon

These beauties came from Buffy and her apprentice, Eragon. Linnea seems especially attached to the blue one. ^^

(images coming)

Lita- An enchanted puppet who helps DS run the teahouse.
Zavoda (Kit)- A small winged cat found near the house.
Zero- Linnea's uncle (We miss you...)
Cordain- Linnea's Godfather
Grondax- Linnea's other uncle ^^;

Our family's pretty small... just me and Linnea, and Lita, who helps us out around the house. We also found a small winged cat recently, which I named Zavoda, but Linnea calls Kit.

My own friends include our housemate Hisa-san, the maid at the inn Sai-san, and Zee-san, the village guardswoman. Linnea seems to be getting along well with a young fae called Shin Daiko, and Seriva, Zee-san's daughter. However she is most fond of the governess' daughter Momo. Perhaps because they're both water elements? We'll have to see...

April 11th

I returned home tonight, to find Linnea waiting for me. Zero did everything I asked of him, and more than I can imagine, and I hope that once she's older, she'll realize how special her uncle is. Until then, I'm content just to care for her and continue in my hopes.

I started moving myself into the teahouse tonight as well, since Zero had been staying there during my absence. The first thing I did was change the water in Linnea's bowl, and place her by the front window. There's a large koi tank by the teahouse bar, minus the koi. Perhaps that would make a better home for her, once I have time to clean it. And once she grows, perhaps we can put some koi in the tank for her to watch. I only hope she won't end up falling into the tank...

I find myself constantly thinking about what will happen to Linnea. What she will look like when she grows, her personality, her likes and dislikes, everything imaginable. I was so worried in the time before I got her- would I make a good parent? Would I be able to care for her the best? Was I being selfish trying to get her? I was filled with doubt. But now all of those doubts are dissolving. We're both here after all. Safe and sound, with no harm done. I have help when I need it, though I really hope I won't yet. For now I'm just content having it be the two of us, on our own. Though we aren't really- the teahouse cook is going to be here also, as well as her daughter. Not to mention the gardner and the hot springs attendant. I like all of them, especially the cook. She has a very sweet nature, and her daughter is quite charming. I hope she and Linnea will be friends...

I'm watching Linnea now. She's swaying her leaves slightly in the spring wind, and the moonlight leaves a pale glow over her that reminds you of magic. I could stay like this forever, just watching the light and wind dance with her. But as Lita is reminding me now, we have a long morning ahead of us. Packing, meeting even more people, and of course, more time with Linnea.

Until next,
~Nachan~

April 12th

Today a young boy stopped by as I was trying to come back. He said his name was Lewis, and handed my a letter, which I've decides to paste here.

User Image

Linnea seemed restless at his arrival for some reason, fluttering her petals in no particular order. Perhaps because this was her first real contact wih someone outside the Teahouse. In any event, I asked for indigo clothes. I think they'd really suit her. Blue would just be far too boring considering my mental image of her, but any other color would likely clash.

I start to wonder about her mental image. I picture her more as blue light than anything else. The blue in itself is rather obvious to me. The shade never really matters, it changes each time. But just this immense, glowing light. For some reason, it never hurts my eyes, no matter how bright it shines. I only wish the sun was so forgiving...

Tomorrow I have to finish my unpacking, as well as setting up. Perhaps we can officially open for business. It would be nice to meet some more townspeople, as I have barely even met the teahouse cook. And who knows, perhaps someone will bring a seedling of their own by? I have presents for all of them, as sort of a welcoming gift. Maybe Linnea and I can take a stroll some evening and hand them out, once we're settled...

Until next,
~Nachan~
