I just found out this morning that my friend had a mis-carriage.
I hate this, i joined the Marine corps, to protect the ones i love. Don't get me wrong, patriotism, loyalty to God and country were other motivaters. But i initaly joined so i could be able to protcet the ones i love. but now i'm sent all over and unable to protect them like i used to be able to. I feel usless. Has my training thus far been in vain? Have i done this all for nothing?
I just feel lost. Is there anyway i can help her?

I would just try to keep in touch with her as best I can. Sometimes we wont be able to protect the people we love all the time. That's just a fact and things happen for a reason. God knows what s/he's doing. So dont feel that this is your fault.
As for joining the military, Im anti military for a few reasons but Im not going to tell you it's useless because those people, including you, are risking your lives to make everyone safer. But you know.. there are things other than different countries and what-not to keep your family safe from. So their are other ways to protect your family. 3nodding
I know it must be hard for you, but keep your chin up. You're a good person and I know you'll be there for your friend as much as you can.

I know God has a plan for us all. And in all of his/her wisdom, it's bugs me, that s/he never thought to gimme a clue as to what that plan is.

Most the time you just have to go with your gut, make a choise, and stick with it. And just see how it turns out.
Give your friend as much support as you can though e-mail or phone just keep her spirts up. I know how it is to always want to protect someone no matter what, but sometimes we can only do so much, and other times we just need to be their to listen.
