A'nala, wandering out of her lands for the first time, treaded cautiously on the new land. She had heard that there were many lions scattered everywhere, but apparently, she couldnt see any at the moment. A sandy terrain it was, where she fit in perfectly, with her golden coat.
She sniffed the air, planning a hunt sooner than later, she hoped. "I wonder if anyone will interest me?" She said curiously poking her head around bushes or trees in hopes of finding something interesting, for once. She saw the occasional bug or rabbit run away, but there wasnt anything fun. She sighed.

His ebony coat only aided him in the dead of the night. But with the golden markings that scorned his body, it really was little aid. Golden hued orbs scanned over the land with a blank expression, his belly was empty for once and his mood a bit somber. But then again, he'd been on his own for weeks now without a soul to converse with, who wouldnt be a bit somber?
His nose twitched slightly as a new scent mingled with the old, his ears perked forward as his orbs now searched around for the source. "Hmm.." his deep growly vocals echoed out as he trailed after it, maybe it would make a lovely snack.

A'nala turning around heard a faint sound and also, the smell of something new. "Well, well, what do we have here?" she aid curiously, feeling like she was talking more to herself because she couldnt see the other side of the cnversation. "Come out, why dont you? Quite lonely out here, you know." She called out, looking around.
Her green jade eyes detected something of a black color, and as large -- if not larger than herself. "I really dont taste good." she said uneasily hoping that she wasnt the next meal.

He couldnt see who held the sweet voice that called out to him, but he was working on fixing that. "How do you know? Have you ever nibbled upon yourself?" He responded as the slender figure of a sandy hued lioness slowly was taken in with his gaze.
Xanthus was a large sized lion, for being not quite an adult his body wasnt as lanky as it should be. But rather filled out, as if adulthood wasnt to far away. He made his way before her, his gaze swept over her. The darker hued ears fading into the soft sandy color, which then bleed into an even paler creme hue. Large emerald eyes stared out from behind a creme tuff of mane. She was beautiful he thought, no question about it. Surely,she knew this as well.

"Would you like to eat something all skin and bones? I dont think so?" she answered pleasantly to his question if she nibbled on herself or not. "If I were you, I'd like a prey with meat filled out. Its makes a better meat you know." She added as the full lion came into view.
"A lion like me?" She inquired. She peered out for under her eyelashes, at the tall figure. Were males always so tall? Swinging her tail back and forth, he didnt worry anymore. After lions didnt eat one another. Tilting her head, she asked "Who are you?"

" I am Xanthus Rami, but everyone just calls me Xanthus." He lowered his head in a low bow, his golden orbs focused on her. "Aye, a good zebra would be a delight at the moment..." He lifted his head.
An ear flickered faintly as a sound caught his attention before he brushed it off as nothing. "Who are you?" he asked as his attention was brought back to her. " A lioness as lovely as you, should not be wandering alone. Could be dangerous, rouges are not all pleasent and sunshine.."

"A'nala at the moment." She looked around at the empty plains. "Yes a zebra wuld be a good meal." she said wistfully, her stomach growling. "but nevertheless a meeting is a meeting and its quite rude, to go off hunting in the middle of it... unless we both consent?" she said adding the last part in, her eyes twinkling.
"I am a rouge, and there are other rouges." She said simply. "I hate being protected. Those protected and cant fend for themselves are .." she trailed off scornfully. "So I dont aim to be one of those." She wondered what had strayed his attention and lifted her head close to his. "May I ask what your doing wandering alone? I daresay, a female can fend for herself as easily as a male can."

"Sometimes, its nice to protect those you care for." He shifted slightly. "And I agree, we should go on a hunt." He chuckled, his tummy was going on empty as well, it'd be nice to have some company for dinner.
"Im out here, working my way back home..And theres no doubt. Females are even better suited fending for themselves than males. We're really a bunch of wusses with to much hair.." He winked as he gave off a soft chuckle. "And its a pleasure to meet you A'nala at the moment.."

"Ah, but protectors come with strings. I particularly dont like that idea at the moment." She crinkled her nose in distaste. "But hunting does sound like a fine idea, too." She laughed softly along with Xanthus's chuckling.
"I hope you find your way home. Homes are the one place you can depend on, for sure." A'nala envisioned her home, well there was no home she had yet. She reminded herself, she had to stake out a cave or something. Turning her attention back, she thanked him. "I do appreciate the comment, although we all know it isnt true. You males have the greener grass than us." She gave him a smile in return to the wink. Blushing slightly, she tipped her head down to clear it. "Its a pleasure to meet you too, for the moment." She added in good-naturedly.

"How do we have it greener? Your body, to be made used as an example is slim and muscular and therefore alot easier to run. As we, are bulky, over sized with hair that gets in our eyes and causes us to trip.." He grinned, he didnt see males as the better of the spieces, but held females with that respect.
"Which is why, most prides are ran by a smart, and beautiful female..and use the male to bully the others around." He tried hard not to chuckle anymore.
"What should be our target? Or shall I hunt to prove the decline in the male speices?" He closed one eye and made an odd face as he continued to with hold his own laughter. He for some odd reason, thought he was funny.

"Your body is stronger, to overpower others? Longer legs to ensure faster running?" She suggested. She had never looked at the good side of her gender, but perhaps she should've. But it still didnt change her opinion of males. "I guess we want what we cant have." she smiled wryly at the thought.
"Prides are run by fluent males too? Like the pridelanders for instance?" she said questioningly. "While females.. are used for their powers of puersasion." Her mouth twitched, to show her dislike of their 'puerasion' but she shrugged.
"I daresay, if we hunt the male species, the species wouldnt grow would it? No matter how much I enjoy the idea.."She tossed her hair, to stare at Xanthus with both jade eyes. "But cubs are needed." She said, her face amused. Bringing her paw to Xanthus's cheek slightly, she patted it. "No need to withhold laughter. Laughter is something to be let out, and enjoyed. Not stifled." Her tone slightly, dissapproving at the thought, he would keep it to himself, in front of her. "Is there something wrong with me, that you wont laugh in front of me anymore?" She stated lightly.

" No, there is nothing wrong with you at all." He replied quickly, worried of hurting her feelings. "And as for Pridelands, I really havent a clue. Though my family does dwell within those lands, I've no idea about its rulers." He responded honestly.
"Cubs are treasures.." He nodded his head, and flicked his tail out behind him. "But I was speaking of us, finding a meal to share? If you dont mind that is." Xanthus grinned a most charming grin. He could be easy to be around, or he could go silent and quiet somber. It just depended on the company.

"Interesting. Knowing nothing of your own culture?" She stared at him with bemused eyes. "I do the same thing." She said laughing. "Although Do I have a culture?" She said, jokingly.
"Treasures? I've never seen or experienced one, so I'll reserve my opinion on that." She didnt remember her childhood so, she had never experienced being one, either she guess. "Food? Theres not much around here. Shall we go somewhere.. more inhabited?" She gave a pointed stare to their surroundings,. There was no prey.. as of yet. "Sharing is fine. After all, sharing is caring, right?" Anala said, giggling. She had heard that from someone, a friend, who was very childish.

"Indeed, sharing is caring." He grinned, there was something about this lioness that he liked. She made him feel more relaxed. His eyes gazed around as he nodded, "Indeed there isnt anything of worth to dine on around here.." He glanced back at her, golden eyes shimmering as his tail flicks behind him.
"Maybe closer to the pridelands watering hole?" He asked with a tilt of his head, he wasnt sure if he'd be allowed back on the lands, but it was his home. He'd just wandered away for a little while.

A'nalas hearted jumped, as he glanced back at her, before she regained her composure. "Lets go then? You have a right to the pridelands, dont you?" She broke out into a light run.
While she waited, while running, for Xanthus to catch up, she wondered why her theart thumped? Was it because of her hunger? Perhaps so, she reasoned.
