When you obtain a mine, there is a useful thing that you can do with it.

Place it somewhere that it is inevitable an enemy will step on it. When they do, turn off the game during the animation sequence of the bomb. When you turn the game back on and resume, you will be in control. Of your enemy, that is.

You can move any of their units as the enemy would. You can discard items, which is recommended if you want to simply decimate their forces with ease. You can attack with weak units and gain experience. Play around with this in any way that you choose.

WARNING: Do not believe that you have won if you discard all of their items. Reinforcements can still surprise you and kill units that are unprotected. Also, don't discard items that you would obtain from killing the enemy, because obviously you won't get them if the enemy does not have them.

Hopefully this was useful.

This is true. But arena levels aren't generally hard.

(With the exception of Hector's Story on hard, which still isn't too difficult)

I remember the first time I learned the mine trick.

It was my first time playing FE and I was struggling on the level where you fight Sonia.

Suddenly the level became a lot easier.

Or Legault. Personally, I find that chapter simple and a waste of the mine. (However, I never use the trick anyways)

The chapter in which you fight Linus on Hector's on hard mode is the only place I have used the mine trick in order to win. I used it once to see if it worked on the level with Guy as an enemy, but the only time I used it for real was mentioned above.

Yeah. My friends are all calling me the biggest cheater in their known world. I told them I was the biggest cheater. And that I couldn't help it because it was such a funny cheat. I've only done it twice though.

I usually don't use it, but it is fun. It's cheating, I suppose. But it's exploiting part of the game. So you could argue.

I've only used it once, but I've thought about using it more times than that.

I've done it twice, as I said. I just found it so funny, I couldn't help myself. I may use it one more time, but I think after that I won't use it again.

Well, if you have extra time and just feel like messing with the enemies, you could always do it and then restart the chapter. Or if you need to get rid of some anger, you can attack helpless, weaponless units for fun. And massacre them.

XD
Yes. That made me feel so much better. Not really, I just did it to mess around with my friends. It was quite interesting to see their reactions when I made the enemy discard all their weapons. Muahahahahaha! ~Evil laugh~
I ended using the trick a total of three times. The first two, I just felt like messing around. The third time, I was up to my eyeballs in underleveled characters, I couldn't help it. Even with doing the cheat it took me an entire week to get through said chapter. xp
Now I'm on the last chapter, and I don't think I can get more screwed. All but the Lords and Renault are underleveled and doing almost NO damage. cry Next time I play the game, I will level up the characters I plan to use in the final chapter.
