I've seen some words that distnctly remind me of Paganism. For example, when someone is taking a recuperative vacation from work, they're "on sabbatical". This bears a remarkable resemblance to the Pagan Sabbat - a time of renewal and regeneration.
Anyone else got any? (note - I'm not just looking for Pagan connections)

(note - I'm not just looking for Pagan connections) Actually, Judaism used the term "sabbath" to denote their holy days LONG before Paganism used the term. The use of "sabbat" as a pagan holiday came about during the middle ages when certain days were known as the "Witches' Sabbath". Sabbath is simply a nearly-universal term for holiday or holy day. And on the topic of wordplay... Holidays are days when people get to take a break and relax. A long time ago, holidays were only on holy days. (Anyone make the connection yet? xp )

Um...let's see . *Wracks her brains* Oh yeah here is one most people don't know about. Bloody hell, which is commonly used in the Isles refers to Jesus on the cross and the blood that he shed for the people. Itis like their version of Crap and they consider it a swear word just not a really bad one. I'll think of more later. What?! It's the weekend what did you expect!

BlondJP02 where did you get that lost faith counter from? I made it. Every time someone does something abhorrently stupid, I go into paint and change the number, then re-upload it into my photobucket.
