Hikari checked in at the nearest customer service desk. Fingers tapped nervously on the check counter as she waited for the timid man roll out a stroller. Sable sat in Hikari's arms, very content in batting at the pointed tail of Prison who currently made it his job to annoy all hell out of Hikari by nesting in her hair.

"Muhmma!" Sable cried out shifting her attention to a rather large display of dragon plushes. A chubby finger stretched outwards to a specific black plush, it's lizardous tongue lolling about with every passing customer. "H'es Pisen!"

At the sound of his name the Dragon torked his neck about to sniff at Sable.

-Wha?- Prison snorted to Sable, a leer sent in her direction.

"Now, Black thing. Be nice!" Hikari said pushing the scaled snout out of her face. She looked down at Sable to proceeded to give her a nast look.

"Pisen" She corrected.

"Fine then, hon." Hikari said, setting the Fee Dee into the stroller and began to fasten the belts about her waist.

At this Sable released a very loud squeal and struggled against the restraints. Her small hands gripping at the belt as she tried to keep it off of her skin. Prison darted down into action, landing atop Sable's belly, growling his dislike to anyone who touched or disturbed any part of his treasure, and Sable so happened to be part of this collection of his.

"No Muhmma, No!" Sable said crying out until Hikari gave up and picked the girl up into her arms.

"Fine, then. I won't put you in there if you don't want to." she cooed, willing to try anything to calm the girl down. Prison scurried up onto Hikari's shoulder, releasing a hiss of warning not to do that again.

"No, no?" A little boy appeared almost out of nowhere and settled his plump hand on the stroller, brown eyes looking up at Hikari and crew. "Baby no want?"

"Sorry! Gods, I'm so sorry." A petite brunette ran up, breathless, followed by a lioness cub. Her cheeks were pink with exertion and she offered a sheepish smile up at the other woman as she scooped up the toddler. "Quixana, that was very, very naughty of you," she scolded. "You don't run away from Mommy. Even if it's to help a nice lady and her darling child. I'm sorry, miss. He got away from me. Ever since he started walking and all..."

Tear filled dark eyes turned to gaze upon the boy who addressed her. Her worries forgotten about, Sable tilted her head to the side in curiosity at the newcommer. Her abnormally long hair, roped in a braid, fell against her sholder when she rubbed the moisture from her face.

"No want..." She mimmicked the other, rolling her back to face the boy more from her human perch. Prison sniffed and leaned his neck over Sable's shoulder to assess this boy. The dragon gave a snort as the woman cub ran into view.

"No, don't apologize." Hikari said hurridly, her free hand flitting about as if to erase the humble words from the air. She knew what it was like to have an over curious son wander into a stranger's conversation. "Please, it's nothing-"

A loud growl and snap cut Hikari off as Prison lashed (albiet uneffectivly from his perch) at the others Daemon.

"Stop that!" Hikari gave a huff, raising a finger to flick the dragon upon the snout.

"Nono! Pisen." Sable redirected her attention to her family, small arms pulling the dragon onto her lap to avoid punishment.

"I'm sorry," Hikari muttered to the brunette woman, "We probably look like a family meltdown right now." She laughed despite herself.

"Not at all." The woman absently reached down to ruffle the boy's hair and her smile was gentle now. "You look like a mother with a small brood to wrestle. Just be glad your little lovely there can't run off yet. Quixana's been a bit of a workout since he got his legs working properly. Even with Courage's help, it's hard to keep up with him."

Quixana beamed up at the baby girl and her daemon, fully aware that he was being discussed and clearly amused by it. He pointed to himself. "Quixana," he pronounced clearly. "Xana." Then he indicated the lioness cub. "Courage." The finger pointed at the woman with him. "Mommy." Next he cut a gentlemanly little bow. "What's your name please?"

"I could say the same for you." Hikari chuckled, her posture relaxing as small and friendly talk was made. "I don't want to know the trouble these two will give me when they are able bodied and scrambling everywhere."

Hikari watched the transaction between the boy and Sable. Prison too regarded it with an amused glint in his eye. Sable said nothing in return, turning into her mother's shoulder instead.

Hikari sighed only slightly dissapointed in her daughter's anti-social behavior as of late.

"I'm sorry, I don't know your name." Hikari nodded to the woman with a smile. "I'm Hikari. And this little one here is-"

"Sae." Sable said pointing to herself shyly. Her dark eyes flicked over to her mother and then to Prison before she gave a large grin. "Pisen" She then pointed to the dragon resting upon her lap.

She then gazed at Hikari before jabbing a finger at her guardian's chin."Muhmmha."

Hikari chuckled and removed the finger from her face. "Yes, Sable and Prison. Or I assume that's what she's trying to say."

Even as Quixana waved merrily and echoed the names "Sable" and "Prison" in his most careful tones, Cressida laughed and extended a hand. "Cressida de Routrou," she offered. "It's nice to get to use my -proper- name every once in a while. Not that I don't mind being Mommy. Not at -all-."

Quixana tugged gently on Cressida's skirt. "Mommy? Baby Sable don't have to go if she don't wanna, right?" There was a furrow of concern between his eyebrows and his little horse's tail flicked anxiously.

"Well, darling, I don't know." Cressida carefully dropped her shopping bag and purse to the ground before crouching to go eye-level with her son. "If her mommy needs her to ride in the stroller so she's safe... Well, you can't expect her to let Sable get her way, can you?"

He thought about this for a moment and then nodded. Padding over, Quixana set his hands on the stroller and jiggled it a bit, rolling it back and forth slightly with his small might. Then he beamed up at Sable. "Nice," he announced. "Like a ride."

"Safety is very important." Hikari mirrored Cressida's lesson looking pointedly at Sable who merely shoved her fist in her mouth, her pitiful look never fading from her face.

Sable watched Xana closely, her teary dark eyes following his every movement intensely. She looked back to Prison who gave nothing more than a snort for the other FeeDee's efforts. "Raaa Xana?" Sable murmured, pulling her attention back to Quixana, her small brow furrowing.

Hikari looked from the small boy to Sable, watching the transaction. Slowly she dipped down in attempt to place the girl within the stroller once more.

"Noomummah!" Sable cried out, arms flailing in Hikari's grip, braid whipping around as she did so. The long line of hair flowed through Hikari's head-space knocking Prison towards the ground. "Pisen!"

Prison's wings flapped uselessly against the speeding current of wind as he fell to the floor. The tiny dragon landed with a loud thud onto the tile. Immediately he whipped around, wings drawn in and hissing at Xana's feet while glaring at courage, daring for anyone to touch him.

"Oh, dear," gasped Cressida.

Before she could snatch her own child up and out of the way of the snapping dragon, though, Quixana himself had taken a measured step backwards and Courage had moved in front of him. She bared her teeth warningly. Stop that! she snapped at the other daemon. I know you're a baby but this is too much. No one is hurting Sable. Don't be a nuisance.

Quixana stared, wide-eyed, at his daemon. He had never heard her be so sharp before! Even when Terror had bitten her tail. "Courage," he said and reached out to grab her tail. "No fighting. It's bad." Then he looked up at Sable and his little face was solemn and more than a little disappointed. "Sable, you gotta," he ordered. "Or else your Mommy can't take you to get toys."

Prison stopped his hissing and gave the larger creature a measured look before flicking his tongue and snorting in an arrogant way, as if to say he cared not for Sable. -No- came his broken thoughts pressing into Courages mind.

Sable looked from Prison to Quixana in a way that could only be described as pathetic. She stopped flailing, calming herself as her mother placed her slowly in the stroller. The FeeDeee took her fist out of her mouth and held it out towards Prison.

"No'pisen," She muttered, tears filling her eyes. "Xananice!" She lashed verbally out an a brief moment of bravery before looking at Xana guiltily. Her free hand send and entwined with her golden tresses. Prison gave one last hiss before crawling atop Sable's outstretched hand, coiling around her arm in a possessive manner.

Hikari stood in awe at the speedy exchange. "My word. I am so sorry, they've never, never been this much out of control. I hope you don't think we're some mad house bunch." Hikari muttered. "You don't know how sorry I am. Here, how about I treat you to a coffee or something, to make up for the mischief. I feel horrible."

Sable looked at her toes, keeping her gaze from Xana in what would appear to be as shame. "Iso Xana n'Courage."

"'S okay," came the little boy's immediate response and he patted Courage's head roughly as he moved around her to stand an armslength away from the little girl in the shoulder. "Sorry Courage yelled." He looked at his daemon and shook his head. "Yellin's not nice." Courage returned the look steadily and then shrugged. "But I'm okay. No ouchies." He held out his hands. "See? All good."

Cressida made a show of wiping her forehead in relief at the neat outcome but her violet eyes sparkled with repressed laughter. "Oh, don't worry about it," she assured the other mother. "Children get up to things all the time. Quixana is just amazingly self-possessed and well-behaved. His sister, on the other hand..."

"Meme's kinda naughty," Quixana stage-whispered to Sable. "She don't like clothing."

"And so she wriggles out of it and runs about naked as the day we got her." Cressida shook her head. "Handfuls, the both of them." Then she tilted her head. "Coffee would be lovely but please don't make it an apology. It really is alright."

Sable looked up at Quixana, dark eyes glistening as she watched him comfort her. Prison ignored the whole ideal, opting that his time was better spent sleeping on Sable's lap. He opened one beady red eye and glared. His tongue flicked out over his snout before he closed his eye and nestled in.

"No ouchies." Sable mimicked, holding out her hand as well. She couldn't help but smile at Xana before bringing her fingers back to her mouth. She peeked over at courage and flicked her fingers in a shy wave.

Hikari's form visibly relaxed as the tension slowly dissipated. She chuckled aloud at the recant of the tale. She looked down at Quixana, giving him a thumbs up for being such a well behaved boy, only wishing that her two sons would behave as pleasantly. " I guess I can relate. My son, eldest son, has a knack for ruining out kitchenware. He likes to experiment..."

Sable giggled at Xana's funny tone of voice. Only her mommy would do that when it was dark outside. She curled her toes in excitement of having someone she assumed would be a new friend. Prison was mean, her brother's were too big. Well, Diae was the same size as Xana but he cries too much. And Sable had yet to see another feedee since she met her mother. The other girl she was with at the beginning was taken away very quickly.

"Xaaanaa!" The girl called out for no reason in particular.

Hikari flashed a brighter grin before looking down at Sable and Xana. "They sure are handfuls." She straightened and looked around the mall. "So coffee? I've never been here before. I haven't the foggiest as to where anything is..." She explained somewhat sheepishly.

"Oh, I think there's something in, um..." Cressida turned and made a vague, expansive gesture in one direction. "Over there, I think." She looked back at Hikari and her smile was luminous. "We'll find it now that the princess has her chariot and honor guard, right?"

Quixana looked up at his mother and beamed, standing straighter and puffing up his chest a bit at the implication that he would be Miss Sable's guard. Walking closer, he eyed Prison for a moment and then held out his hand to the little girl. "I'll go with you."
