Canti wasn't quite so sure about the metal contraption before him. It looked like some giant cage, stretched over a wasteland of sand and small plants. Lucas had nudged him towards it, though, and that meant it was probably safe. Beneath their yarn-woven prisons, the black fingers flexed. It was cold out and the bars should be slick, but with this mittens on he should be fine. So... How was he supposed to begin?

He walked over to the jungle-gym silently, lightly brushing his hand along the metal. A glance back at Lucas reassured him somewhat and the boy grabbed onto one of the many bars of the steel cage, pulling his feet onto a bar somewhere below before his second set of arms reached forward to grasp at the next. He didn't understand quite yet the purpose of this exercise, but maybe after he finished he would. If that made any sense.

No one had over told Del that warm air and breezes helped things in the sky stay afloat, as such when she decided to tromp off to the park ( under the watchfull eye of her father) she had no idea that attempting to fly a kite in cold air that was barely bowing was going to be something of a failure. Her father figured he'd let her live and learn her own lesson so in retrospect one could say the following events wis hes fault as well.

Covered from head to toe to prevent her sensetive gray skin from being damaged Del ran furiously trying to kerep her kite aloft. The home made monstrosity was bright and gaudy featuring on both top and underbelly her personal symbol. It dipperd and fluttered as it was pulled about it was in the air but it was clearing losing the fight againt gravity.

Suddenly without warning the kite lost off power and dove towards the ground in a sort of gracefull yet ominus manner. Del's eyes tracked it's decent and she froze when she realised it was headed for a boy who looked a bit younger that her that was playing on the jungle-gym . She wasn't certain if it would hit him what with all the bars and such but there was still a chance with her luck.

" Watch out." She yelled not once thinking that reeling in her kite might help.

Hey, this wasn't so bad! Scaling the metal behemoth until he was almost to its sloping peak, the ant took the time to look over the ground below. Someone was yelling off to the side, which he paid little attention to at first. Sure, after a moment he glanced over to the source of the voice, just to meet face to face with some multicolored rhombus that seemed to have just dropped from the sky. The ant gasped as it clanged harshly into the bars before him, not hitting him but still surprising him. Jolting back, he almost fell back off the jungle gym. Luckily, he had a second set of arms to still grasp at the bars.

Stilling his breath, he cautiously reached out to touch the fallen kite, running curious black fingers over its surface before picking it up. All four eyes turned back to the dolphin child, a hesitant smile crossing his face as he lifted the kite as if to show her. "Is this being yours?" He called, not about to move quite yet. Getting up was easy enough. Getting down...

Having realised that actually apoligising to whoever was going to get scared or hit with her kite was probably a good idea Del had started walking towards the junglegym now thinking to reel in the line. She had been relieved at the sight of the kite not hitting the ant boy. At least she thought he was an ant, so many bugs looked the same to her, at least on T.V they did anyways.

Del felt heat run though her face as she blushed and nodded at the question. " Yes it's mine I'm really sorry it hit you. " Looking over her shoulder at the bench where her father sat she had a feeling she was going to be sorrier when she got home. " Kites really aren't supposed to do that , I guess I'm not too good with them."

The ant ran a curious eye over the girl now that she was closer, inspecting her extra tail appendage and, more importantly, just how well groomed she might be. Well, she had to be alright. What he could see of her seemed slick and shiny. At her apology, his smile grew a little warmer. "That's alright. It was not hurting at all. I hope it is okay."

There was a slight frown at her statement, the male canting his head ever so slightly. The antennae upon his head twitched and rustled, eventually standing straight up over his head like tiny black beams. After a moment, they flopped back down over to hang in their usual arches over his head. "There is being no wind. This 'kite', it is needing the wind to fly like a bird, yes?" He turned the thing over in his mittened hands, those little feelers of his twitching forward to do what his fingers couldn't at the moment. "It is... colorful. I am liking it. On a more windy day I am to be seeing it in the air, maybe?" He offered it back to her, not acknowledging the fact they were being watched by two male guardians. "You can be playing with me if you want. Maybe wind will come later for your 'kite'. I am being Canti, and you?"

Del was glad to not be in trouble, " The kite is fine and even if it broke it's easier to fix then a person is." Probably much easier to fix an an ant person at that.

"I'm Delphinidae but most people call me Del because it's shorter." The dolphin girl said introducing herself. She bounced from foot to foot trying to decide how to address what else Canti had said. He was obviously right that kites needed wing to fly she shrugged a bit " I didn't know there would be no wind and I never thought about that. I though kites just sort of floated." the young child had never considered something like a kite needing wind before. " I wonder if when I get my dragon if it will need lots of wind to fly."

There it was Del was derailing the conversation unconsciously through her curiosity. Still she remembered to accept her kite back and smiled. " Mm Sure we can play, what do you want to do?"
