A shaky breath was exhaled from the golden male. He felt strangely nervous, especially since he never -was- nervous, nor was he planning to be. And yet he couldn't help but press on to his family's den, feeling his paws shake with each step. This would definitely be a once-in-a-lifetime meeting.
Why did she want to meet them?! Chances are they'd tease him about her being his mate, and Latifu was definitely stubborn about love. M-maybe they'll not be around!.. All.. 12.. of them.. he thought. Bakari glanced back at the teal lioness who followed him. He didn't want to dissapoint her.. but what could he do? A lioness meeting her future inlaws was plans for disaster. Suppose one of his very young siblings asked them about offspring?! Then what? He rolled his lilac eyes knowingly. One of the girls would definitely try that, he knew it. The boys.. not so much. His family seemed to be the kind that nobody could figure out; One minute they were mourning the loss of their son, and the next everybody was having cubs left and right!

Bakaris older brother was sitting a little ways off from the den with his daughter. They had been chatting about nothing when she spotted her uncle walking towards them with a lioness she had never seen before. "Daddy, whos' that pretty lioness with uncle Baki?" Riku looked down at his daughter and shrugged. "Beats me." He said, then stood and padded towards the pair, Tui following behind him.
"Well now," Riku said with a knowing smirk, "Who's this lovely lady, Baki?" He said, sitting down in front of them and looking at Latifu with interest. Tui sat beside him, the same stance and smirk on her juvenile figure. "Yeah uncle Baki, who's that? She sure is pretty!" Tui peeped out, grinning at Latifu. "I thought you always said girls were yucky." Riku said with a devilish grin. "When we were cubs you always said you'd never like all that 'lovey dovey mush' like mom and dad." Tamariku was obviously getting quite a kick out of this little meeting.

"It was not 'lovey dovey mush.' It was simply love," Kifijo cut in from behind. He had actually wanted to wait a bit longer before he made himself known to his sons, granddaughter and most-likely-future-daughter-in-law, but the time was right for his intervention. Not really an intervention. More like an...introduction.
He stood next to Tui, smiling gently at the teal lioness a few steps behind Bakari.
"And yes, you both thought it quite disgusting while your sister was better about it than you," he teased again. But he knew what it felt like to find a mate and to finally feel that connection, so he didn't plan on teasing Bakari that much. Just Riku, 'cause he was in for it anyhow.

While following Bakari, Latifu has swallowed her nervousness and decided to act as calm and polite as she could. She was nervous, granted; who wouldn't be? But she had quite an act to follow, for it seemed like the rest of Bakari's family had already settled. Well, his brother and sister.
She gingerly stepped out from behind Bakari, her teal coat sticking out like a sore thumb with the naturally coloured family. She gave them all a quick, polite bow before introducing herself.
"Hello. I'm Latifu. It's...it's nice to meet you all."
Her voice was strong, though she did pause once. Whoops. She shot a glance at Bakari, hoping that he would be kind enough to give her names. Helloooo, she needed names.

At his older brother and father's comments, Bakari's cheeks turned a brilliant red. Suddenly, as Latifu introduced herself, he turned to her, giving a sheepish grin. Everything was happening so fast!
"A-ah.. Latifu, this is my brother, Tamariku, my father, Kifijo, and my niece, Tui'lan," he said to her, nodding to each of them in order. He then turned to Riku. "Where's mother and the rest of the gang gone to? Latifu doesn't know all their names.. come to think of it, niether do I." He looked away for a moment, before turning slightly to Latifu again. "She came here a few days ago, and she joined our pride now. E-euh.. w-we were friends when we were cubs, of course." Bakari shot a glare to Riku, in case he was ready to make some more comments about love and such.

Tamariku glanced to his father and smiled widely. "Aw come on dad, I was just having a bit of fun." He said with a small laugh. He looked over at Bakari as he introduced them. Gods above was he nervous! Riku couldn't help but feel for his younger sibling, he knew he was nervous when he and Kichea came back.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Latifu." He said with a bow of his head. "It's always nice to welcome another pride member."
"Latifu! That's a pretty name! Tui'lian piped out, jumping up from her spot next to her father. She trotted over to Latifu and sat on her paw. "You're really pretty. You look waaaay different than any of us! Are you and uncle Baki gonna have babies? I want more cousins!" She grinned happily, shotting a mischivious and amused glance at her clushing uncle.
"Be nice, Tui." A welcome and kind voice came from behind Kifijo, and Tanashita joined them. She smiled at Latifu. "Although, you are very stunning." She said, walking over to the other lioness. She bumped her forehead against Latifus in her own sort of official welcome. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Tanashita, Bakaris mother." She backed up and sat beside Kif after she spoke, her tail curling 'round his as per usual.

Kif's tail responded instantly; he hadn't even had the chance to think about the action before it happened. Not that he would have changed it.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Latifu. Tana and I are always welcoming more family members, and I'm sure you will be a bright flower in our crowd of earth-dirty lions. Fur-coloring wise, at least." He winked at the young lioness reassuringly.
"I'm sure you'll meet the others sooner or later, though I apologize in advance if they're all sort of like Tui, here." He gave her an affectionate noogie, much like he often did to his younger children. "She and her brother are a bit older and therefore more able to influence the younger ones. It's Riku's fault."

Latifu shyly nodded at the family around her. Well, this certainly was...different. And his family is even larger then she imagined!
She flushed when Bakari's mother...Tanashita?...complemented her coat colour. She knew that she stuck out like a sore paw, but perhaps they would accept her....even if the younger ones certainly didn't seem like they might.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, too, Tanashita." She offered a very respectful bow, finding it more important to impress the mother then the father. Oh, the stories she heard of mother-in-laws...she gulped before peeking back at Bakari, wondering what would come next. Were there anymore little cubs that would pop up? Or would he elaborate on their certain....'friendship'?

Bakari couldn't help but feel proud of Latifu; she would indeed be a blossom among the earthy lions. "Euh.. I suppose we should continue on to meet my other brothers and sisters.." he chuckled, and began to pad past the older generations.
However, the cubs were probably all sleeping, and waking up 6 brothers and sisters was trouble for disaster. Stopping in his tracks, the golden male turned to Latifu. "Well.. ah... they're asleep right now.. but we could go to one of my childhood spots, i-if you'd like.." he mumbled sheepishly, trying not to look as Latifu. These jungle surroundings make her look astounding.

Latifu felt that it was a little rude to just leave his family...but if Bakari wanted to, she could always pin the blame on him. Besides, she really didn't know the customs of these lions, and she could always plead ignorance?
She watched Bakari carefully, hoping that he wouldn't get her into trouble. "Umm, sure Bakari." She said softly, perking up a bit that they perhaps would get away from his family. They seemed terribly kind, but she just wasn't used to being around so many others at one time.

As the two paced through the thick jungle towards where only Bakari knew, the male smiled sheepishly. "Er... they're a bit... friendly, my family," he chuckled. "I hope you don't mind them."
Finally, the two came apon a large pool of water; small pink and white lilies floated on the surface of the crystal-clear water, while beneath the water, small aquatic plants and fish could be seen. Even some frogs appeared just for the two. Surrounding the pool were a few trees; their trunks were a deep, deep mauve, while the leaves were a pale purple and pink. Little fireflies had begun to make their way out of the trees and into the sky, for now the sun was setting. Almost at once, seeing the awesome sight made Bakari loosen up and feel at peace. He smiled and sat down on the ground, eyes taking in the lush scenery. "It's... it's beautiful, isn't it?" he inquired, looking to Latifu. Seeing her suddenly made his heart skip a beat. She was.. so.... beautiful in this setting.

Latifu was nervous what what Bakari was doing. Where was he taking her? She had jsut went through the stress of meeting his family, and now they were alone?
The only reason she felt so awkward was that she had just recently moved into his pride, his home. Everything seemed to be happening so fast, and she was getting very nervous.
"Yes, it is very nice, Bakari," she said calmly, doing her best to seem slightly interested, but not enough to really....'spark' something, so to say.

The male stared for a moment longer, before his eyes quickly darted at the ground; what was he doing? The last time he tried to express his feelings, everything came out wrong and rushed. Bakari hoped that perhaps this time it would come out perfectly.
"So.... now that you've joined the pride, what will you do?" he asked, mildly curious as to what Latifu would do. Hopefully she wouldn't be -too- far from him, so he could check up on her every now and then. "Where will you live in the jungle? If you want, I could always help you find a nice den around here." His eyes lit up hopefully, he wanted to help Latifu quite badly.

Latifu could feel a sense of unease in the air, but she thought that it was her own, and not Bakari's. Well, she's swallow it up and try to act as strong as she did when she was just a mangy little cub. Yes, she'd be strong!
"Umm...." she said shakily. Okay, not such a great start. "I hadn't really thought about it....since...well, I've never lived in a den, I guess." She laughed at herself, looking over to Bakari a little foolishly. She didn't know if she could live comfortably here for a while, but she would certainly try.

Bakari chuckled a bit, perking his ears up positively. "Don't worry.. it takes some time to get used to living in a den, especially in a jungle like this. You should've seen me when I first came here!" He laughed a bit, recalling the embarassing memory. "I'd forgotten what our den had looked like, and I ended up sleeping next to a pair of warthogs that night. That didn't end too well for me. See?"
The male flipped over a paw, showing a small scrape that had healed over, yet a scar still remained. "This wasn't the worst of what happened. 'Riku teased me about falling in love with a warthog, while Moyo acted as though I'd lost a leg." He rolled his eyes, ears twitching irritably. "But now that you're here, I'll help you find a comfortable place to live, alright?"
Bakari couldn't help but be so upbeat; his friend, his dearest and closest, was going to live with his pride! He let out an excited, somewhat childish giggle, before he slapped a paw over his mouth; he just giggled. In front of... Latifu. When was the last time that had happened? Clearing his throat, he stood up, a slight blush taking over his face. "Yes, well then, let's.. um, go."
