A young woman about the age of 18 wandered just outside of D-corp, as she stared up at the large looming building of D-corp, mouth slightly agape. Her hands tensed, one quickly rising to push the glasses back up the bridge of her nose, then she started forward triumphantly, that was.. Until her foot caught on a certiain loaf of lion, causing her to stumble forward, thankfully nto actually stepping on the poor boy, and spinning back to give a startled "I'm sorry! I didn't see you..."

Cadentau had been enjoying a nice peaceful nap on the outskirts of D-corp where he was supposedly studying wild mushrooms with the untouched feild guide next to him. While it was a pretty lame excuse, it worked, and he dozed contentedly...at least until something kicked him rather hard in the ribs.
He snarled and tried to squirm out of the way to avoid being further abused as his eyes flew open. So much for the nap. "What the *mild explitive* was that!" he growled as he whirled on his attacker, claws unsheathed and ready to retaliate. "Oh..." His demeanor instantly softened when he realized it was a young woman, and he just stared at her for a few moments, at a loss for what to do.
((*Adds to post because nobody has replied.))
He wondered whether he should continue the surly aggressive approach, after all, he didn't want too look weak. But as a general rule, he didn't fight females, so maybe he should just go back to sleep. His tail swished indecisively and he flicked an ear, scowling.

((Sorry ara had to go to bed. xD it was like.. 6 am...))
The woman bit her lip as claws came out, eyeing them worridly, she didn't exactly want to get shredded today... Or any day. But the little lion seemed to relax some upon seeing her, and her apology, so she continued, giving another fix of her glasses. "I really am sorry." She noted first, giving a small smile "Are you okay?" Sure she had a mission, but she could stop for a few minutes and make sure some poor darling boy was okay. D-corp could wait alittle while longer.

((Manipulative Caden time! XD))
"Yeah, yeah. Sure, I'm fine." he said offhandedly as he made a show of ginerly prodding the spot where her foot had contacted his side and wincing. "Nice to know the good old cami-oflage is working properly." Or was it camei-oflage? Camo-iflage? Whatever. It started with "cam" and ending with "flage" and meant something along the lines of "hiding". Caden wasn't going to think about it anymore.
"So what's got you so hurried you can't watch where you step anyhow?" Inwardly, Caden smiled at his phrasing. It sounded like he was changing the topic, but brought up his 'injury' again anyway. Although, he was rather curious as to what exactly she was doing. She looked too young to be a parent and too sane to be a D-tech (and he had definatly seen his share of insane people on take-your-child-to-work day).

It was strange to be called back to D-corp so suddenly, especially after the other night. But, whatever. If one of the Techs wanted to talk to him, he wasn't going to refuse.
However, if it looked the trip was to be totally pointless, his approach towards the building, gave him a reason to smile.
She was cute. ...'An also in a bit of trouble it seemed...
Slyly the lovebird walked up and stepped in between the two. "I'm sorry, are you ok?" Paxton reached over and grabbed onto one of the girls hands. "Don't mind him." He looked behind his back and mouth to the lion kid (somewhat directly) 'p l a y a l o n g'. "He's just like that sometimes," Giving a wink at both of them, Paxton moved the action along, best not to tarry on lies. " ...Can I help you Miss--" he didn't think she was married? "You looked quite lost."

She frowned alittle, immediattly falling right into the whole "oh poor Cadentau" routine. Sure he said he was fine but he wasn't acting it. And she wasn't about to mention that oarnge on green wasn't exactly camoflauge, and that she was just clumbsy.
She knelt as he spoke again, still vaugly worried, "Well..." she started, only to have a sly lovebird swoop in, in a flash she had stood back up, if jsut to be closer to eye level with the newcomer.. though she found she was slightly taller than him. The story of her life, she was a tall lanky thing. "Me?" She blinked, "Yes, I'm fine..." she answere, casting a glance to the lion and back to the bird. Should he be asking the poor boy that? She gave a confused look as he kept speaking, "Aa.. Well. I was hoping to get a job." She admitted, "See, I was majoring quantum physics, but I needed a job for tuition." She nodded, pushing her glasses up as a grin spread across her face at the talk of the chills and thrills of something most people might think of as a horror movie basis. "Just... D-corp is huge, and I felt a bit intimidated, so I wasn't watching where I was going and... eheh." She gave a lopsided apologetic smile to the kid again.
Oh but wait, they were offering help, "Uhm. Since you asked, do you know where I'd be applying? Should I see the boss or?"

He opened his mouth to sputter silently in outrage, then shut it with a snap that left his teeth bared in the newcomer's direction. How dare he! How dare this eye-blinding feathered thing march up and steal his fluffs and petting and general attention-getting! Well, if he was supposed to play along, he was going to do just that! He'd seen plenty of insane people and knew all about them. This shouldn't be so hard. Now for a little warmup sequence.
The lionboy purred loudly and attached himself to Paxton, rubbing his fluffy head against the lovebird and thwaping his tail on the ground in a pretense of affection, while he tried to think of something vile to call him. Ah, perfect.
"Hi Ella!" he all but meowed ((AN: because he's still small enough that he can do that)) and purred louder, deliberately rubbing the feathers the wrong way. "This is Gabriella and I'm Caden." he chirped at the woman before Paxton had a chance to correct him.

Ah-Jesseusanchrist--that was possibly the first time anyone had touched the lovebird so and to be honest, Paxton did not like it one bit. Messing with his feathers like that. Sure, people felt the need to play with them sometimes and he didn't mind it when they did. Yet, that had to be the worst feeling of all...those things hurt you know? It wasn't like fur, these things were attached into the skin via sharp little rods....which made molting even more fun than shedding.
Had it not been for the fact that Paxton was used to keeping the pain to himself, he would have hissed at Caden. Instead, the angry outburst was kept to himself by biting onto his lip and taking a deep breath.
‘Ella’? We'll you know, two could play that game...play that game and maybe work it to an advantage?. "I know who you are silly--How could I forget my little brother?" Paxton put on the biggest smile he could muster, if it was genuine or not was be debatable. "Your so silly Cadencia--"he glanced over at perplexed looking woman, "...We unfortunately got stuck with a mother who wanted girls, so we usually stick to our nick names. Paxton is what I like to go by." He let go of her hand finally, seeing that she was all right. An then gave a weary eye to Caden. Trickly little bugger.
"Yeah brother and I can help you," ladies seemed to think it was cute when siblings were involved, even better when they were two loving siblings. " Bu--" Paxton's expression fell some at the mention of Alan. ...That poor, poor man. Not to mention his daughter...
A clearing of his throat, " Mentioning the boss might not be so good…but, we can take you to the front desk, they would be able to show you the right place."

Caden let go in shock at Paxton's words, and his ears drooped, though it might have appeared that he was upset over Alan's death (something which Wolfie had purposefully not explained to him). How had the lovebird managed to turn that around so fast? And roped him into doing something useful in the process?! Especially when the two of them looked nothing alike! Oh, well. Might as well make the best of it. As the 'cute younger brother' maybe he could still get his fluffs and attention. He nodded once, smartly and said, "Me and Ella are at your services M'am."

Gabriella? Oh my. The woman looked between the two, raising a brow at some weird unspoken tension that rose up in the air suddenlly. Judging by their faces, they weren't too mad. The little lion, Caden as she now knew, was practically purring. Or he was... Paxton looked alot more tense, however.
Little brother? Maybe that explained it. Brothers often had a love-hate relationship, right? Whatever it was, she was getting double names for each of them. Okay so.. They wanted to be called Caden and Paxton. "I'm Mary." she offered in return, giving them an awkward smile.
But it seemed the older of the two knew where they were, but the boss? Hm... What could have happend? She gave a light frown, nodding, alright... Mental note not to ask, just get thejob and see if she could que in on the gossip, who wouldn't be curious when a whole boss was up and missing? Oh well. Stuff for later. "That would be nice, thankyou." She gave a wide dorky grin, waiting for the two to lead the way.

"Mary--that's a pretty name, don't you think Caden?" He opted to use the child’s, 'real' name this time. As far as he knew it was his real name. "Yeah..." the lovebird nodded his head, before the lion boy got a chance to say anything. The word 'yeah' just seemed to fit about anywhere and work well in a conversation, besides, it gave Paxton an opportunity to move things along.
"Come on little bro, " the lovebird gave a sigh as he pried the little lion boy from his leg. Paxton certainly may not have been the most muscular or bulky kid ever, but he could manage to haul along the kid for a little bit. It would just be a strain. "It's a piggy--erm,-front ride," The lovebird mumbled as he struggled to get a grip on the fluffy boy.
Man, talk about fluffy, why was he suddenly reminded of Keanu?
Shrugging it off mental the lovebird bit his tongue and lead the way as the three of them entered D-corp.

He was being carried! Though not for long, judging by how the lovebird's arms were begining to tremble. Unlike Paxton, the lion was rather bulky and getting stronger and heavier as he aged. He thought about struggling, but decided against it and put his arms around the lovebird's neck to make things easier. If he didn't have to walk for a little while, that was just fine with him. He re-evaluated his opinion, as they entered the building and began to purr genuinely. Fluffs and attention were the goal, and it didn't matter much to Cadentau where they were coming from as long as he got them. Paxton had just been promoted from rival to source-of-attention. Between him and Mary, it was a fine day ineed for one little lion. His tail swished and he yawned, about ready to fall asleep again. This was nice. "Hey Paxton.." murmured sleeplily, about to ask exactly what had happened to the boss before he dozed off completely.

"Thankyou." she smiled, following them into the building. What met her eyes was pretty much exactly what she suspected, grey walls, a big desk... The lobby threw her off a bit, complete with couch and everything, as did the posters on the wall... but other than that.
She spun back to look at Paxton, smiling and pushing her glases back up the bridge of her nose, only to be met with the most adorable sight of an older brother holding his sleeping younger brother. She gave a big grin to them, lowering her voice as she spoke. "I always wanted a little brother or sister." She noted, with a soft chuckle, "You take good care of him... Thankyou again!" Oh but how would she take it when she found out they were lieing? Not well probably. Oh well, with a wave, she was turning nad moving to the reception desk that had been obvious upon entering, talking to a woman at it, whom then directed her towards the elevator, which she dissapered into with another wave to the two boys. "See you~"

"Dang..." the lovebird cheekily smiled and mumbled to himself as he watched Mary run off. Ah well, he hadn't been expecting anything from her. Maybe in the feature, though, if they ever meet..."Yeah, kid?" Paxton looked down at the lion kid now contentedly purring in his arms. My, my that was certainly strange, one moment this little fellow was being a brat and causing trouble and now he was happily content with himself.
Ou--ow, arms, with a sigh the lovebird leaned down and placed Caden on the floor. Too bad he couldn't have kept holding him longer. Paxton was one of those few people who enjoyed making others happy, just for the sake of knowing he was making them happy. 'An he showed it best with physical affection. "No sleeping yet."
