So has anyone started planning out squads or squad leaders yet?
Daitarn 3, Daimos, Dancougar, Gaogaigar, Goshogun, Gunbuster, Ideon, Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, and Voltes V are all must-have squad leaders for me. At the moment I'm imagining having a Macross Plus squad (please give us Komilia in a Thunderbolt like in the Macross Plus arcade game), Sound Force squad, and a Diamond/Emerald Force squad. A Virtuaroid squad is of course required. ^_^
Hmm... 14 squads essentially planned. Maybe I will find room for Gaiking this time.

Oh, right. o.o Alpha 3's going to have the same.. or similar system as Alpha 2 from the looks of it.
I haven't really planned anything out yet, but I'd probably come up with something nice when the time comes. o_o' Kinda hard to do without all the units' detailed information of them anyway. x_x; Unless most of them are the same from Alpha 2. Even then, there's still all those new units..

One Squad for SEED units, probably gonna consist of Kira, Mu, and Athrun(Because you know he'll be a compulsory join), Daimos, Getter Team (Possible addition of Getter robo villain, if recruitable. Radora kicked a**!), GoShogun, Gunbuster, Gaiking, an EVA squad, a Macross Squad, Sound Force Team (Just for music value), 0083 squad consisting of Kou and Burning (Burning to GP-01 if available), GaoGaiGar(GaoFighGar)/Goldymarg Squad (Addition of Renais or Soldat in question), Z/Great Squad, Raideen, Vitual On Squad led by Temjin, then it's a toss up between Ideon and Raideen, though Akira will probably win that toss.
Those are possibilities. One squad I have carved in stone.......
SRX Team/R-Gun Powered Squad
The R-Series have been rebuilt?! And Mai gets to pilot R-Gun?! YAY!
As for battleships, I'll probably go with Daikumaryu. Even without the head, it's still quite formidable (At least it was in Alpha 2).

Wow... I managed to forget about originals (and who knows, Alpha 3 may have a lot of them).
Hmm... I think I have no problem thinking of 15 squads... might have to punt a planned leader...

Oh look... new scans with originals... hahaha... sweatdrop
SRX's upgrade is not surprising in the slightest. I agree with the statements earlier that it seems to be in a similar style to Katoki's Virtuaroid designs, but I say that mostly due to the stylized patchwork-ish arrangement of red/blue and white. That was something frequently used on Virtuaroids starting with VOOT and SRX has that design similarity. Larger shoulders also help the new head look more balanced.
I love Raiou's design, particularly with the scarf. ^_^ Touma is something of a surprise but I'm all for more hot blooded characters. Sure I have some dissappointment seeing a DGG in the hands of someone other than Kai or Gilliam, but honestly Touma reminds me more of a young Kai than Bian.
Soleales does look like an interesting mecha to me. I thought of an Ash Saber first thing, particularly with the lower left shot of its section of the scan at the AS-designation. I also like the ninja look. Selena looks like a fun character even though the shoulder spikes frighten me. Having Ibis, Tsugumi, and Surei on her route as well are also a huge bonus for me.
Kusuha and Brooklyn... no surprise. I like that their new mecha have dragon and tiger themes respectively and that the two units look like they will make good use of combination attacks. Being based on Grungusts doesn't hurt either, but I agree they look like Cerberus with the protruding chest armor that the head looks like it is going to fall into. The back weapons also help give that impression.
Quovley... no excitement whatsoever. He just looks like a little b*****d who stole Zengar's bangs. I look at him and I want to hit him with a brick. Sure he might be somehow related to Ingram and part of his plans for retribution, but then I want to perform facial reconstruction surgery with a brick even more since that is Viletta's role. Then again Viletta might be really involved on his route which might be neat...

If I go with Touma...
1.) DGG-XAM3... hopefully along with other two DGGs 2.) SRX 3.) Dancougar 4.) Temjin, Fei-Yen 5.) Daimos, Garba FX-II 6.) Voltes V, Combattler V... or I might ditch the two completely in favor of Gaiking. oO; 7.) Goshogun 8.) Gunbuster 9.) Ideon 10.) Getter Robo G/Shin Getter, Lady Command? 11.) Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Venus A 12.) Sound Force (gotta love that Fire Valkyrie and custom Thunderbolt and Nightmare... Mic Sounders might round out the squad) 13.) Diamond Force (or Emerald Force if it comes to that) 14.) Gaogaigar/Gaofighgar/Genesic or whatever 15.) Gaiking
If I go with Selena... meh, then Gaiking will probably be punted in favor of Hyperion and Zengar will just have to deal with being support.
There... I have half a plan... I feel more secure...

Grungust Sanshiki also used Tromium as its power source.
Interesting ideas on the new SRX though. It will be interesting to find out how it works (or if it can still be divided into component machines at all anymore).

I will be sorely upset if I can't split the SRX. I must hear "Everywhere You Go" in any game Ryusei makes an appearance. It's high time R-1 got powered (Or Altered as the case may be) dammit!
I also refuse to call the SRX "Banpreios"...............All I could say when I heard that was "No".
Anyway, with what appear to be some new moves for Gaiking, I think Sanshiro has safely secured a spot in my team. Gaiking mopped the floor in @2, so it's solidified another route.
Voltes...........in all honesty, I've never given Voltes team a shot. It's not a dislike or anything. I just never got around to it. Since I heard the Boazoan homeworld is to be featured in Alpha 3, I think I might let Kenichi and Co have a go at it.
I've been thinking about dropping my EVA squad idea. I'd just end up doing the same thing I did with Brain's back in @2.............except when 01 goes Berserk.......and you don't need that if Rei and Asuka are in the same squad, or however they plan to work that out.
Goshogun has always, no exceptions, ALWAYS had accuracy issues, and something of a low armor deal.............yet I continue to have these tragic heroes serve in my ranks when available. I'm hopeless.
Getter.........Mazinger..........doesn't everybody?
Wing Boys..........unless Wing is compulsory and has that dynamic beam saber, I don't think Hero will be in my ranks this time.............but since this is called "To the end of the universe", does this mean he'll FINALLY get to kill Relena?

So damn near every mail order shop has now shipped and news of the game is spreading around the 'net like wildfire.
So how is everyone holding up until their copies arrive?
I'm just annoyed that I'm finally excited about the game. The apathy just couldn't last.
I'm also feeling somewhat guilty by the people emailing me and begging me to make a FAQ. confused

GeeTee So damn near every mail order shop has now shipped and news of the game is spreading around the 'net like wildfire. So how is everyone holding up until their copies arrive? I'm just annoyed that I'm finally excited about the game. The apathy just couldn't last. I'm also feeling somewhat guilty by the people emailing me and begging me to make a FAQ. confused It's bound to happen, but don't let it get to you. You've made more than enough contributions to the SRW Community. We have other writers to pick up the slack while you kick back for a while. Remember, with the coming of a new SRW game shall come JLee's famous "No Upgrade Game" topics. While I don't doubt the skill of Mister Lee, I can't help but think he'll need to make a few upgrades. Given all the powerhouses we're supposed to get (Ideon, Full Power Kaiser and Shin, Gunbuster, etc.), one can't help but think we're gonna need full force to decimate what's coming. One scan I sadly laid eyes upon was an image of THREE GunEdens, and base power is barely enough to down one in Alpha 2! As for my copy of Alpha 3, I haven't ordered yet. I wanted to hear about whether or not it'll play on a Flip Top Mod. I heard some rumors regarding how it might not handle on such if the disc was dual layered or something like that. Since I haven't heard of any such complaints on the Alpha 3 boards, I figure I'll go ahead and place my order. Guess I'll wrap up Arad's route in Alpha 2 and head on to Alpha 3. I've cleared a Zengar and Kusuha playthrough before that (I still love you, Ibis. I'll get around to you sometime).

Most users who don't know Japanese will go to GameFaqs and use the boards to collect their information. Those who do understand Japanese will get their information from the Famitsu magazine and spread the info at Gamefaqs.
Lather, rinse, and repeat with the coming of a new SRW.
