Since there are several different starter decks and the boxes they come in are all the same as far as I can tell, there's really no way to predict which one you'll get. If you bought the starter box thing, which preconstructed deck did you end up with?

I ended up with the one with the Horde warlock whose name I forgot.

Well, I think all the boxes look the same on the outside, don't they? (At least, they do here in Germany.)

What I meant was, which hero came in your deck?

I had Grennan Stormspeaker, a Horde shamen

In the starter deck boxes are one of nine starter decks.

A Druid Deck
A Hunter Deck
A Mage Deck
A Paladin Deck
A Priest Deck
A Rouge Deck
A Shamen Deck
A Warlock Deck
and A Warrior Deck

Each deck is very differant from eachother. It's highly recommended you play and construct the deck you get from your starter box, since there are over 350 cards in the game alone. You'd have to buy at least 24 starter packs in order to have an organized and well deck to play with if you choose to not work off of the starter deck you were given.

I started with a Druid deck sweatdrop

Which deck is the best?

Which deck is the best?

There's no "Best Deck."

Unlike Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Heroclix, Magic the Gathering, and any other hobby game you play, WoW is all based on strategy, not what cards you have.

I'm not talking about "pre-planning" strategy where you set your decks up. I'm talking about In-Game strategy, where you have to make decisions that could either help you win or lose in the end.

Are there combinations that compliment each other?

Well I'm a little confused by that question, what do you mean combinations?

Such as is there a pair of cards that work together and produce a more powerful affect. What im asking is that is there cards that work together well. Do paladins have a universal effect(stuff like this). Im buying a starter deck tomorrow. I would like to know these things.

i got the Timmo (Alliance Rogue) and it so happens that 2 of my friends also got Timmos so that makes for interesting games.

fyi:
- there are 361 cards in HoA and 33 in Onyxia loots.
- there are starters for every single class, but not every single hero (i.e. there's an Alliance Rogue but not the Horde one).
- as far as i know, the hero that comes with the starter is:
1. Timmo (Alliance Rogue)
2. Warrax (Alliance Warrior)
3. Moonshadow (Alliance Druid)
4. Elendril (Alliance Hunter)
5. Graccus (Alliance Paladin)
6. Grennan (Horde Shaman)
7. Radak (Horde Warlock)
8. Ta'Zo (Horde Mage)
9. Omedus (Horde Priest)

the 2 most popular decks right now are the Alliance Hunter Rush based on Elusive guys + Bloodclaw/Fury and Alliance Warlock Control based on massive card advantage and plenty of removals.
Alliance is looking to have more power right now with Parvink, The Defias Brotherhood, and The Missing Diplomat all being very good card advantage machines.

I have to dissagree with you, there's a recent Horde Warlock deck that NO ONE can beat at my local card store.

Until I throw my new paladin deck at him that is cool

Ferocity is pretty devastating if you can't protect against it. Having no hand will automatically put you at an extreme dissadvantage (you NEVER want to depend on the next card you draw in this game). Damage over Time cards like Corruption and Curse of Agony will slowly suck the life out of you while you try to defend yourself. Hitting the opponent without any reprocussions will keep you on your toes as well.

All of these options are included in a Horde Warlock deck, and will put your opponent at a hard dissadvantage if you can't act against it.

The only way to stop this deck is by building a deck spacifically against it, which I've been trying to do but fail almost every time. Though with my paladin deck, I'm pretty sure I'll beat him this time.

Armor and Instant Abilities to protect against Ferocity.
Draw power cards to keep my hand full.
Ability dissruptions to stop his Damage over Time cards.
Direct Damage abilities to get rid of his grimdrons (annoying little buggers...)

Hopefully I'll stand a chance this time :3
