Otherwise known as j-rock, is my favourite type of music. I've been listening to it for about a year now, and I can't listen to anything else anymore.
Some of my favourite artists/bands are:
Miyavi
Gazette
An Cafe
Nightmare
Ayabie
Morning Mesume
Namie Amuro
Utada Hikaru
Phantasmagoria
Has anyone else heard of j-rock? How did you find out about j-rock? What/who are your favourite bands/artists? Why do you like them?
I found out about j-rock through my friend. He made me listen to Gackt, and it was all over, I was hooked.
I really like j-rock because the sound is just so different from the stuff I hear on the radio every day. There is no generic sound in japan, and the artists even change their sound and look on a regular basis. They also release new music a lot more often, usually a single every month or two.

technically, it's all j-pop, considering that it stands for japanese popular music... even dir en grey is listed as j-pop on their site, at least it was a while ago, they may have changed it....
but anyway, i like most japanese music except for some of the wanna-be rappers... j-rap is just funny to me rofl

Nepthys669 technically, it's all j-pop, considering that it stands for japanese popular music... even dir en grey is listed as j-pop on their site, at least it was a while ago, they may have changed it.... but anyway, i like most japanese music except for some of the wanna-be rappers... j-rap is just funny to me rofl rap is funny, period.

I have no idea. xDD People just love it for some reason. I guess it's the 'in thing' right now.
I don't listen to very much foreign music... Top40 for me. But L'arc~en~Ciel pwns my world. And AnCafe. <33

I love J-music~ So awesome! And the artists are so fun to look at with their different styles~ Miyavi and his chaning hair, Yuuki and his funny afro thingy, Mana and his cross dressing.
And OMG Antic Cafe is going to be at Fanime Con!
