Unfair...unfair...unfair.

The words ran through her mind over and over again. Reduced to play backup to a bunch of hot pants wearing freaks with oversized egos and enough whores to satisfy an army. Still ringing in her ears she whined.

'I'm sorry but it was the only job offer open.'

"That can't be possible, we've played all over before! We should be able to get any job we want! We've worked so hard, I just finished writing the last song for our next tour!"

'It was unavoidable, there just isn't a real need for your type of music anymore.'

"No real need?! I...I cannot accept that! Get out! Get out now! I have to think!"

It pained her greatly to hear that her orchestra that worked so hard to attain their dream was easily crushed by a band named after a god forsaken cookie!

---------------------------------

A week had passed since the horrid news was delivered. Now was the first time she was to meet the 'artist' whom she would be working with for the next...she cringed...-undertimined- ammount of time. She was essentially their b***h until they found a new musical expert to exploit.

Rolling up her sleeves she knocked on the door with a bright gold star on it. "Excuse me is there anyone here? I'm supposed to be meeting the leader of a band named...The Electric Oreos."

Nevermind the fact he had hardly heard of such a thing let alone had an extensive knowledge of what one was, but if they'd be playing with him they had to be awesome, right?

BESIDES! He had been promised LASERS! Lasers in a show always made everything better.

Now, a week since the deal had been made, Demy sat in what had once been his dressing room. He should be getting ready to meet the orchestra leader, but just that morning his band had a rather bad arguement...

One bad enough to actually break up the band. Ouch.

Alone and miserable, Demy hardly raised his head off the table he had it resting on. Greeeat...the leader was here, and now everyone would have a great laugh at how he couldn't hold his own band together.

"Heh...wouldn't call myself the leader of a band anymore...come in if you want..."

Not even getting up to open the door for her, already this 'man' had lost points with her. Lazy in life, lazy in music as they say. Opening the door she rolled her eyes. Just as she expected, not even in professional attire. Straightening herself out she entered with a polite greeting, "My name is Sai D. Aluradre, thank you for your hospitality...", and closed the door behind her.

"Excuse me but, I have to say I really this this is a misunderstanding. I'm the head of an orchestra. I don't do rock and roll, or whatever it is you do." Clearing her throat, anxious to leave now, she continued. "Now, really, if this could be worked out as soon as possible I'd like that, I must get back to finishing the preparations for..." Now she gulped, she really had nothing lined up besides this, and if he knew that, she'd be sunk. "Well that's really none of anyones business now is it?"

The Audio hardly kept his head up, and he certainly didn't bother to look back at the one who had entered. Why bother? He was nothing but a disgrace now anyway.

"Look...I was really looking forward to this, but like..my bandmates...had a disagreement earlier, and they all like...left and stuff. So as much as I'd love to totally rock out with you, I can't solo it, ya know?"

Finally, pitiful green eyes turned to eye the orchestra leader.

"Sorry..."

Sai just stared at him. Pitiful. Not only was he ruining her dream, but his own as well. What a fool. Though, she had to admit, he looked awefully sad...and being a fellow musician she decided to swallow her pride and atleast talk to him for a bit.

"So they're gone? Any reason for the fight or was it just some creative differences? Because, you know, that happens in music a lot, but generally they will come back for one reason or another. There is no real reason to worry."

Honestly, she had never heard their music, and never really wanted to, but due to a combination of curiousity and knowing that playing music could calm someone quite a bit, she asked something she knew she'd regret. "Why don't you play something for me, I haven't been exposed to your style of music just yet and I'm always open minded about new sounds."

He needed his bandmates. Demy could certainly play, and he wrote the music for the band too, but he NEEDED the help of the others. One Oreo just wasn't enough to cut it for a performance.

The mention of playing for the other seemed to perk Demy up...well....at least a bit.

"I.....well I guess I can play something for ya! It won't be as good without the rest of my 'mates here, but I'll give it a shot."

Scurrying to his feet, Demy went over to his guitar and gently picked the translucent instrument up. It was obvious in the way he handled it that the musician greatly loved his guitar and treated it with as much care as possible. Giving a half hearted grin to Sai, the rocker Audio started to play

Now, to one not familiar with rock and roll, the sound wouldn't be....too unpleasant. Demy was in no way a hardcore death metal star or something like that. Also, with just him playing and the lack of the rest of his band, it'd be a lot easier to adjust to the differences between his type of music, and Sai's.

So, on he played, and as he continued to play Demy got more and more into the music. Sai's assumption had been right, playing the tune was at least cheering him up. It wasn't too long before he was finished, and once he was Demy put the guitar back into it's holder and shot a hopeful grin to Sai.

"Didja like it?"

She cleared a spot on a cluttered couch in the room and took a seat. Feeling very uncomfortable in the messy setting. The room she was used to had next to nothing in it, and was mainly for resting and preping for the show. This room looked...partied in. Pushing the disgusted feeling aside for now, she sat back and listened to Demy play. It wasn't completely unlikeable, but was not in her tastes.

After he finished she just stared at him. "It was...very interesting. Not something you'd hear playing in an orchestra though." She paused. "You wouldn't happen to know any Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, or anything of those sorts would you?"

Demy hung his head a bit. Was he a bad musician for not knowing these things?

"I like...don't think so? Should I?"

The second bit was added in more quietly...timidly even. Fidgeting just a bit, Demy skittered over to the couch and cleared it off further for the female.

"Sorry it's like...such a mess in here. Just haven't had the heart to clean, heh..."

Or, you know, why bother? He was a rockstar, no need to clean! Though under normal circumstances he would have cleaned up at least a BIT for company. He wasn't a totally rude guy.

She snicked. "No you shouldn't, I was just asking an unfounded question. But I did get my answer. I do think you have some great talent, though I find it wasted on this genra of music, that's not my choice though, to each their own." Putting her hand on her head she sighed a bit. "I am sorry to hear of your loss, my suggestion is to put it behind you and either find new members or reclaim your old ones."

Scanning around the room she winced a bit. "Yes well...I suppose this style of living is just something one would have to get used to."

Demy had visibly cringed at the mention of his talent perhaps being wasted. But hey....that was just a matter of opinion. He could live with that.

"What kind of music do you play? I'm sure I haven't heard of any of those things you mentioned, so now I wanna know what it is you do! Share? Pleaseeeeeeee?"

His begging was rather childish, and almost....cute.

Standing up, she brushed herself off and scanned around the room, avoiding looking at Demy and his childishness. "I play classical music. I conduct an orchestra and am a pianist." She cleared her throat waiting for some stupid remark about the word pianist.

"I actually have some sheet music here if you'd like to look at it." Now wondering if Demy could read sheet music, she pulled her latest work out of her bag and handed it to him. "It takes quite a while to write these because you have to make sure it sounds good with over a hundred people playing different instruments."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 24, 2006 12:42 pm

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Demy had a good internal laugh about the word pianist, but for the moment he made sure not to let any such amusement show.

"That sounds.....different. But interesting!"

Yes, despite the type of music he was into, the guitarist was a lover of music and would give anything a chance. It might not be the type he was capable of playing, but that didn't mean he hated it either.

"You have...a hundred people playing at once? That's....just...whoa..."

The youth took the sheet music, looking it over as his mind struggled to comprehend that many instruments playing at once. Now, Demy could read, and hell even -write- sheet music. It wasn't the kind that Sai wrote, but still he could do it. So, for the next few minutes the guitarist looked over the work, and actually even looked pretty interested in it.

"That's an interesting bit of work....I'd love to hear it actually played some time. I can kinda picture what it sounds like in my mind, but it's hard imagining all those different instruments..."

"Yes well..." she started. "I may have lied a bit when I first came in here. We haven't had a call about concerts in a long while, so no one will be hearing any of this any time soon. Though I have to say I am a bit dissapointed about the turn of events that have taken place here." Letting out a sigh she reclaimed her music sheets, she stuffed them back in her bag. "Well it was nice meeting you then. I guess I'll be on my way, good luck reclaiming your band, I wish you luck. Feel free to give us another call when the time comes."

While it'd be a perfect time to be mocking, Demy looked rather....sad....for the female.

"I'm sorry to hear that, your work sounds interesting, and deserves it's time in the spotlight too."

As she went about gathering her things, the youth fidgeted a bit. Now, he could just let her go and go back to sulking over the loss of his band or....

"Look....I don't want you to have totally wasted a trip over here. Why not go to lunch with me or something? I'll pay! I promise!""

The guitarist gave her a hopeful grin, waiting a reply.

"Yes well, every band deserves a shot, we had ours and it seems that our time has run out. Too many people don't listen to my style of music anymore, the need for it has...fled, so they say." Adjusting her glasses she was about to step towards to the door until the male spoke again.

Food? Well, she was hungry. But it sounded suspicious. "Alright, but just to classify, I don't date 'rockstars' so don't expect more than conversation."
