People are constantly asking me if they can use the concept of the GMFC to make other clinics, clones of this shop, or concept in a shop of their own.

While I must take the oppurtunity to say I am very very flattered the concept is popular:

THE ANSWER IS NO, so please don't even bother asking.

I appreciate, however, the people who even bothered to ask. Some people have not, and they have just made their own shops.

I do not wish there to be clone shops of the GMFC. I do not support, endorse, or condone people stealing my idea and making their own shops.

People who "clone" or copy the GMFC, and all employees/artists of said shops, will be placed on the GMFC blacklist.



The common misconception is that they think I think I own the idea of childbirth.

I don't. I don't claim to. Hell, every shop deals with pregnancy and childbirth is one way or the other. Also, there have been "family RPs" on Gaia as long as Gaia's been around. They are still very popular.

When the idea of "breeding" avatars wasn't mine. It was Daisuke-kun's, and I even asked his permission to use it, and offered him to be co-owner, which he declined, but still have me permission to use the concept.

However - every breedable is unique in its own right. Yes, there are a MILLION cat and dog breedables. But they are all different in one way or the other. They have a different history, a different social pattern. They have wings, or horns, or eyebrow tufts. They are usually called something special. "Caits" or "Puri's" or "Talaye" - indicating that they are NOT cats, but a separate species of animals that live in Gaia.

For example, Puris are feline-based pet. Other people are more than welcome to create other feline based pets. BUT - you couldn't sell PURIS. You could create a feline pet with a different natural history and call it a Feli. Is a this a clone shop? NO! Felis and Puris have almost nothing alike, except they are based on FELINES.

The same can be said with humanoid pets. All "humanoid" pets are some variation of a species. Even something as broad of fairies - there are Feien Fairies, the Fa'e, etc. How are they similar? They are all humanoid pets. No one is stopping ANYONE here from creating another humanoid pet shop. BUT - you would have a problem if you just ripped the history and mythos of the Feien Fairies and created your own Feien Fairies shop.

Did RikProwley invent the idea of fairies? No. But he did event the Feien fairies, and how the interact with Gaia. But Rik never claimed to own the idea of fairies.

Now we get to the GMFC. I was the FIRST to take the idea of GAIANS having genetic children and applying it to an RP-intensive, unique-stage breedable. I don't breed fairies, or cats, or dogs. Essentially, I BREED AVATARS. Gaian Children. Thats the species I "created" with my shop.

If another shop comes along, and starts breeding avatars... they've taken my "species" idea. There is nothing left that makes my shop unique about others. Is it a totally original concept? No. Was it an original concept for diary-intensive breedables? YES.

You can't make your own Puri shop. But you can make your own feline-based shop. You can't make your own Maternity Clinic- but you CAN make your own humanoid pet shop.

I don't claim to have sole rights to childbirth. Hell, if you want, go to the R/C forum and commission an artist to draw you a baby.



It was MY idea. My concept, my baby that I busted my a** on to bring to fruition. You're damn straight I get annoyed and angry when other people take my idea and set up and start their own shop. And I most certainly WILL blacklist them, for they are NOT welcome in my thread if they do that to me.
