The roaring of the waterfalls can be heard in the distance as you are led to a single small lake of smooth water. The lake is like glass, where you can see all manner of creatures swimming and teaming in the water. You are tempted to break the calm of the water, but remember a story of another Youngling that lost his hand to a trap fish, waiting beneath the surface of the sand.

"Are you ready for the advanced part of your training?"

The voice startles you out of your revery and you nod in agreeance.

"Good then let's begin," The Emperoress commands.

(master, are you going to complete this training area? my presence has been requested here, and I cannot continue training untill this training ground is up and running.)

I am pleased to see that you both made it. I have a task for you both to complete your training in Control and gain Concentration.

As you know, Concentration gives you the power to move faster and gain an extra turn (per round). I want you to both, go into the Waterfall Cave and take different routes. They all lead to a dark chamber where I will meet you.

This sounds easy enough, except you can bring weapons and you must outsmart and outrun the tunnel worms. If you are bitten your training will cease until you are healed, since their bite is venomous and debilitating. Use concentration to gain an 'extra turn' and outrun them, or hide.

The Emperoress takes out a hologram to show you what the Tunnel Snakes look like. They look like crinkled ship tubing, with pale white skin...and they are huge. <Think about the size of a good jungle boa constricter or python> The specs on them also say they are very fast at striking their prey.

::maugrim gave him a moment to get into the tunnel before slipping in behind the waterfall, just as resiment had done. he chose a path two left from the centeral passage. people normally didn't choose the passage two to the left, so he had a good chance of choosing one that was not often traversed. he walked slowly for now, almost taunting a worm to come after him, all the while, letting the sounds around him soak in, although all he could hear at that exact moment was the sounds of his footsteps and the roaring waterfall, now a quiet purr in the distance::

Sauntering along you find this task a breeze and think you know why no paraphanelia is allowed on this journey. There seems to be nothing following you. The light is dim in the cave, with the lichens barely giving enough luminescence for a foot hold. As you walk along you suddenly feel a crunching ooze underneath your feet. The fetid odor hits your nose and you curse as you realize you have just stepped on tunnel snake nest. The eggs are in ruin, and stick to your boots. Suddenly, a very angry tunnel snake appears, it's larger than you thought and you sense this was the mother. She lets out a deafening noise of rage showing her sharp teeth. She crashes into the dirt floor in front of you. She is planning to attack you from the rear. Your only weapon would be one egg that wasn't stepped on. You can either attack or run farther into the tunnel.

The blasted snake had found him, and he decided not to fight, but to run for now. He ran at a casual speed down the corridor, narrowly missing some of the snakes bites. As he came to a long corridor, the light faded slightly. He used this moment to run further ahead into the darkness, just out of sight. The two cave walls were narrow, he managed to pull a leg split and climb up. The snake sniffed through the area, and just before it looked up, Resiment landed on down on it, stabbing through it with his vibroblade, killing it. He had won...for now. He continued on, no light insight.
