Thyrfing, Ensiferum, Windir, Viikate, Equilibrium, Elvenking (power/folk), Vintersorg, Otyg, Borknagar, etc. I'm looking for more myself, so I'll watch this thread. *goes to get some Cruachan and Moonsorrow wink *

If you have a CD store that contains these albums then I would suggest checking out these bands. Is Folk another word for Viking? As I just found out, there apparently is a genre for the Vikings? I presume they sing and play music about the Nordic deities?

The music is often more complex than bm( I may be wrong). Vintersorg Mithotyn Windir Primordial(are they folk?) Einherjar Finntroll

Falkenbach
I strongly recommend ...Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri.... Or hell, anything by Falkenbach.
And look into Folkearth [which has one of the biggest lineups I have ever seen @_@]

Well, the difference between folkmetal and vikingmetal when it comes to themes is usually the fact that the viking ones are about, well, vikings, and such. While folk can be about mythology, or fantasy creatures, like trolls, which is a theme that often comes along in folkmetal from scandinavia.
Does anyone of you know a good place to buy metal cds? I know amazon and all those big places, so telling me amazon is a great place really wont help me a lot.

Viking metal isn't just about lyrical themes, and there is a difference in music when it comes to viking and folk. Viking is a branch of black metal, if I remember correctly. Many bands mix viking/folk, it is very common.
