~ RULES ~
All posts must contain a poll Don't break gaia's rules! Don't be generally bothersome or disruptive Don't do anything that makes this place unpleasant. I will have the final word on what falls under this category, even judged on a case-by-case basis if necessary.
Post WHATEVER you want - and as much as you want! - as long as you follow the rules listed here!
You're free to discuss whatever you like, but ALL posts must include a poll! If not they will be deleted.
The poll doesn't have to have anything to do with the post/thread either. There just has to be a poll. This is so people can come here for quick, easy, gold by voting in polls.
The purpose of this guild is to meet other pet owners, and everyone is welcome here.Your mule accounts are also more than welcome to join. Begging and quests
So that there's no longer any confusion, here are the exact rules on begging + quests, and the exact criteria for quest threads
You may only have 1 quest thread To be considered a quest thread, it must tell the following: - What you're questing for, such as an item or list of items or a guild. "i'm questing to have lots of gold" will not be accepted - Your current progress; How much you have, and how much you need total. for example 2k/40k - Other information such as a list of donators is preferred, but optional. - an aesthetically pleasing layout is also preferred, but optional
You may not create other threads as an advertisement for your quest thread, to circumvent the 1 quest thread per person rule You may not advertise quest threads outside the guild, as that's hard for us to keep track of, and not worth the effort. have one in here, or not. that keeps it simple.
Any thread asking for donations that doesn't meet these criteria is considered a begging thread rather than a quest thread. Begging threads are not allowed.
The reason we have these rules is to allow you the freedom to make all kinds of posts, while at the same time keeping users happy. Begging threads are generally seen as the most annoying, even more so than pointless spam, so I think it's very reasonable to limit them.
PS: There will never, ever, ever be a "quests" subforum. don't PM me about it Gaia''s rules
Don''t stretch the page if you can help it. If you must stretch a page don't go over board.
The TOS mentions that you may not "disrupt the normal flow of dialogue". So don''t post things that are disruptive and "negatively affect other Users'' ability to engage in real time exchanges."
that means, don''t post messages that stretch the page. Don''t post thread titles that stretch the page.
Also, in the same vein, I''m enforcing two new rules of my own in this guild:
No "14g posts"
These are posts that claim you get more gold for an extremely long post. These aren''t allowed on gaia, they''re a warnable offense, and they''re considered scamming.
if you defy this rule and continue to post them, I will gladly report you to the mods myself.
Read the chatterbox sticky on this issue for more info:
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4579653
No "rape me",etc, topic titles
Some people post "rape me" instead of "rate me", and the like.
These aren''t allowed anywhere on Gaia. STOP.
There is also a chatterbox sticky on this one. Read it.

MY rules
Do not post extremely long messages with little to no content
For example lines and lines of "bump bump bump bump bump....." etc.
Never. not even in threads that are pure spam, beacuse as well as just being all around annoying, it makes moderating those threads hard.
Do not spam in threads where it''s unwelcome
This also means, don''t bump and spam stickies / announcements.
And don''t advertise in other people''s threads
Put a poll in every thread
I will mercilessly delete your thread if you don''t.
if the poll breaks, edit the thread and fix it. Mod Guidelines
This applies to all who are mods now and any I add in the future....
Do only as much modding as needed
This means that you should only do what's needed to resolve a situation. Don't lock, edit, or delete threads unless there's a good reason. Don't ban members unless they they're blatantly trolling, can't follow the rules, or refuse to.
Follow all of gaia's rules
This should be obvious, and if I picked you as a mod it means I think you know the rules. Most importantly: No flaming. Modding a big guild like this can be a pain in the a**, and the members WILL piss you off, but flaming is against the rules everywhere on gaia, and as a representative of this guild, I can't have you breaking the rules.
Being sarcastic or 'harsh' is not against the rules, but flaming is. Don't do it.
About banning members....
Besides getting a person out of the guild - and thereby preventing them from continuing to cause trouble - banning sends a the message: "You ******** up, you broke a rule, and we were bothered enough that we wanted you gone"
For that reason, you should ony ban members when they've shown they can't get along in this guild. I would prefer you give them a clear warning first, and if they don't change their behavior, then ban them. If their behavior is particularly out of line - for instance, that member that was stalking and persistently harassing another one - then ban them immediately.
About threads without polls.....
If a thread doesn't have a poll, make your best judgement. if you think it was an accident, or they're just another innocent newbie who doesn't know better, gentely remind them. If they refuse to add one after that, delete it.
If you think they haven't bothered to read the rules, delete it. This sends a clear message that they need to take it upon themselves to read the rules.
If it's a thread that already has many pages, but the poll can't be fixed, ask them to move it into a new thread. Give them adequate time to move it to a new one, then delete it once they've moved....or, if there's something important in the old thread that needs to be kept, just lock it.
About deleting threads.....
The above gives reasons to delete threads. In all other cases, I would prefer you don't delete threads you feel are in violation of the rules unless absolutely necessary: lock them instead, so I can look over them and have the final say. I also might need to pass the thread on to the Gaia mods, so it's best to simply lock it in most cases.
If you did delete a thread (besides ones without polls) please tell me, as well as what was in it, and why you deleted it.
About locking threads....
Post in the thread stating why you locked it, or why you unlocked it. Don't unlock something already locked unless you feel you have a really good reason.
About stickies and announcements.....
You may make one of each and that's it. DO NOT CHANGE ANYONE ELSES.
About join requests....
Go ahead and help out approving join requests if you want to. Approve everyone unless they're someone we already banned.
