There were some days when there was absolutely nothing to do but curl up and let your brain melt.
Clickity-click-click. It was a wonder that Autumn's keyboard didn't just up and combust, for all the relentless tap-tap-tapping it put up with. Many a night had been spent, wide-eyed and stooped over it's glowing counterpart. Thank goodness for the internet, she'd often thought, thank goodness, or being awake for so long might make her go insane.
Beat.
Oh, right. That was already her reality. Daily injections, occasional visits to the Happy Home...and, not least of all, Ati. She sighed softly, looking up and around for her fairly-constant imaginary companions. She was sitting in her favorite cafe, sipping from a mug of mint hot cocoa, her fingers poised for attack over the keys of her beloved laptop. The usual Wednesday patrons were there, and though she she smiled brightly whenever one of them happened tolook up at her, she knew that they were silently judging her every move, the way she looked, the way she spoke- if she spoke at all, the cold and silent snob!
Breathe, Aut. Breathe.
Oh- there Ati was, shuffling in strange little circles around her mug, chattering to himself- themself? Autumn wasn't quite sure whether to refer to her apparition as a unit, or individually...but as they were all Ati, she supposed that she could refer to them as a unit. He- he- stopped an made a little chattering noise, and she giggled, before peering around at the others nervously and shushing them. "Not so loud..." she whispered, "You'll disturb the others, and then they'll like me even less..."

Although she often complained about the police keeping such a close eye on her, and the fact that for two weeks she hadn't been allowed out of the house, Ruri didn't actually like being out half the time. Mostly because, despite the medicine, the urge to follow people home was a lot stronger than it should be. Still, today was a nice enough day and since Nexi wanted to go outside, she had taken him down to the local coffee shop.
"Ok... we'll have..." Ruriska studied the menu hard, before looking quizzically at Nexi. The green-haired young man next to her smiled. "I'll have a lime milkshake."
"Right. One lime milkshake and... one ice chocolate."
After giving her a strange look, the waiter took her money, careful not to touch her hand directly and told her to sit down. The two sat down at a table near Aut. Ruriska casually looked around, humming quietly under her breath while Nexi poked a finger through the salt shaker. They were obviously a strange pair.

Autumn blinked at the occupant of the next table, and her ...oh, her semi-transparent companion. Ati looked up as well from where he had been examining her hot cocoa, and smiled a bit to see somebody else like him. However, he then proceeded to hide behind Autumn, peeking out every so often. Sigh. Aut supposed she ought to go say hello...and show Ati that not everybody was scary.
And so, she stood, stepping over to the lady's table. "Excuse me..." she greeted the two of them quietly, smiling at each before continuing. I...couldn't help but notice that you have a...a..." A what? What proper name could she call the boy- or Ati for that matter? Hallucination seemed rather rude, after all. And so, she just guestured awkwardly to him, blushing a bit. "And I..I wondered how he came about. This is Ati..." she turned to her cowering friend, stepping back so he was more visable before going on. "..And I'm Autumn."

One would expect to notice a young man should he have been only partly visible. Thus you would have expected Ruri to notice the table nearby with a partly visible male that was similar to her own. But Ruriska hadn't quite made the connection between see-through and solid and how thet didn't exatly work. Thus Nexi was real and anyone else partly visible was just a normal person.
"Eh..."
It took a second for her to catch on, in which time a curious if rather shy Nexi had wandered over look at Ati to mumble 'hello'.
"Hello Ati... hello Autumn..." Ruri finally managed, blinked a bit more and then finally caught onto what was happening. Oh... well, pull up some chairs and sit down. I think Nexi happened with the pills. Mm.. Oh I'm Ruriska, and this is Nexi. Nexi?"
"Oh er... hello. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too..." Autumn murmured, pondering over where Ruriska had said this...Nexi had come from."But..if he came from pills...why am I able to see him?" She winced, hoping that she wouldn't come off as being too blunt.
Ati, meanwhile, smiled shyly at Nexi and waved three fingers at him before diving behind Autumn again. "Ati~!" she scolded softly, peering back at him. "Manners!"
"ButAutumn..." he whispered, but stopped at her look, and with a sigh, he pulled himself into view again. "Pleasure to meet you both..." he greeted them politely, skittering to sit on the floor beside Aut as she joined Ruri. "What do you take pills for..? If you don't mind me asking."

Ruriska stared at Autumn for a second but then smiled and shrugged. "It doesn't really matter. Just be glad you've got him. It doesn't matter how they came about as long as thye are here. Right?" Satisfied with her own reasoning, Ruri sipped at her drink.
"Oh um... they think I stalk people. But I'm only observing. It was very rude of them to barge into my house and ruin all my work, but oh well. Everything turned out ok." Once more Ruri shrugged, finding the question rather pointless.
Meanwhile Nexi was watching Aut curiously, hoping for some companionship. "Would you like some of my milkshake?" Impossible really but at least it was a nice gesture.

Stalking?
Autumn's eyes went wide, and she winced back just a bit. A stalker sitting down for a drink with a semi-sociophobe. Subconciously, she reached for a sugar packet to shred, after emptying the tiny crystals into a semi-neat little pile on the table. But- oh, the other seethrough-boy...Nexi, was it?..had offered her some milkshake. She quickly shook her head, thinking of poison and the hospital perhaps being a ruse set up by this young lady to trick her and prove she was insane, and then she'd have to go away, and Ati would be all alone, and...
"Mister Nexi?" came a meek question from Autumn's own little hallucination, reminding her that Ruriska too was on medications that created companions. Almost automatically, her hand dropped down beside her, and Ati put his own little hand through it in a strangely comforting guesture before continuing. "Would you like to play with me?"

Ruriska was in one of her 'stare off into space thinking about absolutely nothing' moods. So she did just, with a small smile on the corner of her lips. At the next table a man who was in her direct line of sight squirmed and shifted his chair nervously.
Hearing those wonderful words Nexi bolted up out his chair, clapped his hands happily together and looked ready to pounce on Ati with a hug. "Of course I would!" Nexi didn't get to meet many others, especially those who could see him, and having a chance to play with someone was a dream come true. "What should we play?"
Sipping at her drink, Ruri finally shifted her gaze to Autumn. "How old are you?" She asked quite randomly. "No wait... don't answer that. How about.... shall we be friends?"

"I don't know. What would you like to play?" Ati asked softly, smiling at the other see-through boy. He'd never had anybody other than Autumn, and wasn't so sure what others liked to play...so he had decided that he would say yes, no matter what Nexi suggested.
Autumn jolted at Ruri's question, her eyes widening. Was she going to be stalked? But then, as the girl took back her question and extended her offer of friendship, Aut couldn't help but to smile. It wasn't everyday that somebody wanted to be her friend...unless, of course, Ruriska was doing nothing more than playing a cruel joke on her. After all, she could probably see Aut's insecurities laid bare..and who would want to be her friend, after all? But..she couldn't exactly just say no. And so, eying the other suspisciously, Autumn nodded a little bit. "If you like."

"I..." Nexi began; smile suddenly falling away to be replaced by something more thoughtful. "I'm not sure." He eventually confessed, giving a little embarrassed grin. "I've never had someone to play with before so... I don't know." He gave Ati a hopeful look. "Have you got any ideas?"
Ruri smiled back. Things seemed to be going well. A fact that she was immensely grateful for since most people found her too strange to bother with. Why was that? As far as she was concerned, she was completely normal. It was everyone else who was strange, and thus warranting scrutiny.
"Great. I think you are friend number two... no three, wait... four. Wow, my record is getting better!"
