The cubs have been tucked away into the den for their daily afternoon naps. Kujack and Aysha were about on their own accord and that left Ger with his as well. It had been some time since he had refreshed his memory of the homeland he left behind. Teal eyes fell to the ground as large paws carried him down the path. The Pride Lands were no more than a 10 minute sprint from there...well, 10 minutes for him anyways. However, his mind was so lost, he was lost. He could not think straight with so many thoughts and ideas running in his head.

Kujack, Aysha, Kohaku, Athena, Inoa, Hayate, Kohji...his family, he loved them very much they made him so happy and needed. He knew that they were quite affectionate to him and he was quite protective of them in return. He was their 'big brother'. Aysha would be heart-broken if Ger left them, she seemed so nice and loving it would be horrid if he had upset her. Kujack, he was like a father to him. And that promise he made, his promise to stay with him and be there for him. He could not go back against his word now. He had been with him since he was a cub.

Ezeoha, Trina, Jahazara....his friends, his mother. Sure Ezeoha could be a jerk sometimes, flirting, belittling him, but he was a nice male regardless. To Ger, he was almost like a brother, a blood brother. The thought of calling the male 'brother' was weird and funny, but it felt right. Ger promised him that one day he would open up to him instead of shutting the adolescent out. Jahazara, sh e must've been worried about her son. Sure she was ill, he remember that much, and having her worry about him was worse. Then there was Trina. The chocolate cub that seemed so willing to be his friend and she had done just that. She was the only female that had every gotten close to him, comforted him, been there for him besides his mother. Trina was a good friend. It hurt him that he was not holding his promise to her...

A soft sigh escaped his maw as his paws tripped over a rock embedded into the pathway making him fall forward. The golden lion fell head over heels and landed on his back, dust threw up in the air and a moan of pain.

"Ow..."

Ger murmured rubbing the back of his head. He thought he lost that old habit of his. Maybe it was his luck that made him get into these messes. He smirked, it was how he met Trina to begin with.

Trina had been out of her character for a while. She was not as playful as she was, or as she knew she could be. There was something missing in her life and she could not name what it was. Her sister and brother were growing up into perfectly happy lives but even though her playful and flirty facade was still up Trina was in a search for something she did not know deep inside.

By nature, she was not the kind of lioness to make friends with lions the same gender as her because they always viewed her as competition and she always saw herself superior to them. Why should she spend time with females who did not know how to use the traits they were given by birth? Life was not so much fun when there were not many lions to play around with. Or maybe she was missing one specific lion. Her friend, Ger... He had been away for so long. He left without saying goodbye... She was sure he had a crush on her but his abrupt leave made her doubt that. She did not even know why she missed him....

As she walked towards the Pridelands border she was lost in thoughts, and her normally charming face was clouded by a darkness. She did not even recognize she was not alone until she saw a golden figure lying on the ground in a very weird position. As her eyes met his figure, she did not even pay attention. "Oh well" she said "try to walk more carefully next time" and with a murmur, the adult lioness walked away.

Ger perked an ear. What was that? Then his other ear perked up to accompany his other. Who was that? He sat there for a moment and looked around, that voice....He paused and brought a paw to his chin, not sure if his mind was playing a trick on him or was his heart just wanting some attention... but that voice.

Ger rose to his feet. Either if it was a trick or not, he had to find out if what his mind and heart was telling him. Nearby, well a little ways more, was a lioness. It was rather dark out and well, it was hard to tell what or who it was. The lion narrowed his eyes, it was worth the shot. He pushed down on his paws and lunged forth with a burst of energy, he zoomed past the female and piveted his left forepaw to turn his body a good degree to come face to face with the lioness. With a smile, one of soft, caring, and a bit of fliratiousness and seduction. Picked it up from Ez from all those years ago.

"Hello there."

He called out, curiously. He was cautious as he had remembered one time when a female smacked Ez. He for one would not care, but if it was Trina, then he would. It was still proper to greet someone unless the laws of manners changed over his time away.

Trina sighed tiredly. Yet another male yearning for her attention. They were so predictable... But she was in no mood to play. She raised her eyes to say something rude to the male to make him walk away and as her eyes met his, she felt like a lightening bolt passed through her body. Her muscles tense, she blinked. Those eyes... She could never forget those eyes.

The lioness was breathless. She tried to confirm her doubts but only a soft whisper came out from her lips... "Ger?" She asked, disbelief echoing in her voice "Is that you?..."

It had been so long since Trina had been able to feel something remotely like excitement, but her heart was pounding so fast in her ribcage that she was afraid the other lion might actually hear it. Was that really him? After all this time how dare he came back?.. After leaving her like he did, how did he think their relationship would be? And with a regret the lioness realized, she was ready to pick up from where they left off if he asked her to do that.

"Trina?"

He gave an amazed laugh and surprised as he came closer to nuzzle her. It was her, his heart and mind were true and here she was. After so many moons away from each other, they were together again. He purred as his fur touched her, it was just as soft as when they first met even after that daring escape from the Elephant Graveyard. He pulled away from her and smiled. She was a lot....well she was beautiful as always. Her deep brown eyes seem to disappear into her chocolate colored fur, only to be lost in a pool of white that was her mask.

"It's...me, Ger."

He replied softly, a bit a loss of words. He had never expected this, he had met Kimaji, his ol' jungle dwelling lioness and Ezeoha, his flirtatious 'brother'. His old family and friends were coming back to him and now... Trina was with him.

Ger had grown up just like the rest of them. His mane had grown out and fell down the back of his neck, softly falling over his broad shoulders. His body had grown quite well considering his painful experience. His body was bigger, much more muscled than most male of the Pride Lands (the ones he met) more of those of the powerful and fierce Firekin. His eyes were as lustrious as ever and his smile.... handsome, charming, sweet, and a bit flirtatious. He let a purr roll inside his body as he looked her over.

Ez had a family now.... Kimaji still lived with her father, but what about her? Did she have a family now too? It would be rather strange, such a wonderful and beautiful lioness without a family? Especially Trina, she was just so sweet and nice (excluding those times she flirted with him way back when). He just could not frown with her now.

"It has been too long hasn't it.... What have you been up to? I mean, do you have a....."

His heart slowed its pace when he said those words.... did he really want to finish that sentence? His maw just remained ajar from those words alone. He casually shut it and diverted his eyes from her with a long sigh through his nose.
