KERMODE: THE SPIRIT BEAR Black Bear with Cub that holds active Kermode geneName: Frey Artan Burdock [Free Little Bear] Gender: Male Animal: Ursus americanus kermodie [Kermode Bear, subspecies of Black Bear]
Hairstyle: Straight-ish. The ends should curl up slightly, as in the beanie picture. <3 HairColour: White, with a black streak in the front. Skin color: White Clothing: A dark green beanie, and a bearclaw necklace. Personality: Extremely curious and intuitive, Frey will ALWAYS be getting into things he shouldn't, whether it be snacks, the garbage, or people's private collections. He loves to play, and it always harassing his brothers for attention. A real adorable critter, he can be quite sulky when he doesn't get his way. Which isn't often, considering his parents, and loving siblings. Markings: None as a toddler. Develop later in some Kermodes. Eye color: Silvery-pale-green, will darken in preteen stage. Eye style: Extremely pretty, with white lashes. Pose: I can see Frey trying to wander off to sniff at something, with Raphael[whom is more his grumpy protector] reaching out to hold him still by grabbing his tiny white tail. Extra: SLIGHT snout [Sorry to D-corp ref, but see Lian's.], black bear pads on the palms of his [relatively] human hands and feet. Tiny black claws on hands and feet. Little bear stubby tail. Other: Frey is blind, as all Kermode bears are as small cubs, when he hits preteen stage, he'll be able to see. He'll be deaf until child stage, as well, and will need the constant protection of his family. Special dietary needs are also evident until Child stage, as he can only stomach various types of milk [Bear and cow, preferably]. Size: The smallest of the brothers, and really, really tiny. Maybe half the size of the other two bears. Kermodes start extremely small, and then grow icredibly large, much like pandas.
About the DNA [Particular to the Kermode bear, not all black bears]:
Behavior: Bears cannot use tail or torsos, in the same manner as do other creatures, to send signals in body language. This may explain why the head, neck and mouth are used so much to convey intent. The position of the head being one of the most important indicators of a bear's mood. Walking with head held below the shoulders is likely to result in some type of agressive behavior. A whole range of facial and mouth expressions are used to intimidate one another including snarling, opening and closing the mouth rapidly while salivating, bearing teeth and making chomping noises often indicate a agitated bear.
The cubs follow their mother or siblings learning from everyting they do including how and where to find food and understanding what is dangerous and is to be avoided. Unruly cubs are often disciplined by their family's growling, grunting or even swatting cubs who have not responded to their vocalizations. Cubs appear to take pleasure in wrecking anything that comes into their path, althought it appears that they are motivated more by hunger than perversity.
Patterns: In the winter, they hibernate in dry cavities inside giant old trees, protected from howling winter storms. The hibernating bear slowly digests its stored body fat. One amazing thing about spirit bears (and grizzly bears) is that their young are often born in the middle of winter, while the mother bear is still in hibernation. The Kermode bear cubs are born blind and defenceless. Black bears are solitary animals that wander all their lives. At birth the cubs are blind and deaf with a sparsely developed coat, weighing only .5 lbs to one pound. They begin to grow rapidly on a diet composed exclusively of sow's milk which is much higher in solids, total fats and proteins that cows milk. size]
Habitat: Spirit bears inhabit the lush, coniferous rainforests of the mid and north coast of British Columbia, where the trees grow large because of the very wet climate and few fires. Inland, along the Skeena River, spirit bears also inhabit some drier-type forests. Most forest habitats used by spirit bears grow to be very old, especially along the stormy edge of the continent at the interface between the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains.
It is because of the shelter provided by large, old trees that the spirit bears (and their distant cousins, the grizzly bears) can survive inhospitable winters of cold rain, driving snow and unrelenting dampness. Some of the larger trees have dry hollow interiors that provide den sites for hibernation. Most den trees are over one metre diameter and over 500 years old. Such ancient trees are also the birthing places for spirit bears. Curled up for the winter inside these giant trees, pregnant Kermode females give birth to tiny bears while still in the slumber of hibernation.
Diet: Green plants, berries and salmon. Not only will a black bear eat almost anything, it will gorge itself until its stomach can hold no more, sleep it off, and start the process over again. Omnivores who will eat almost anything, but it is more markidly herbivorous. Depending on the season and the environment, vegetative matter makes up between 80% and 95% of its diet.
Skills: Like all black bears, an agile climber, even in adulthood. Black bears are alert creatures, with a sense of smell more highly developed than other large animals, with exceptional hearing but apparently only average eyesight. They can also eat anything somewhat edible without worrying about becoming sick.[Skill Suggestions: Climbing, Exceptional scent and hearing, Iron Stomach] Kermode bear marking tree

RAPHAEL: BLACK BEAR EXTRODINAIRE Name; Raphael Gender: Male Animal: Black Bear
Hairstyle: Short and amazingly fluffy looking, around his face and to his neck Hair Color: An auburn, cinnamon-colored brown Skin Color: Hershey Chocolate Brown Clothing: Up to Arafel. :33 Personality: Grumbly and rather possesive of his belongings - being his brothers and his food. Srs. Don't touch it - it's his. To family members and the friends, he's lazy and snuggable but.. that's about it. Markings: A white blaze on his chest and up to his shoulders/neck, along with a darker ring around his eyes. Eye color: Black Eye Style: Normalish? XD Pose: Something big and lazy looking, without being too teeth-rottingly cute. Possibly lounging against one of his brothers. Extra: Normal hands and feet, but with bear pads and the claws that a bear will have (although very small when a toddler and a child). I'd like his ears to be a little higher on his head and, if his back is showing, the little stubby tail they have. Slight snout as well - see Lian.
Layout ganked from Kanth. Will change if asked. <3

BURAKKI; SPECTACLED BEAR Name; Burakki Gender: Male Animal: Spectacled Bear
Hairstyle: Longish, shaggy. Hair Color: Black with white/yellowish streaks (like the markings on his face). Example of hairstyle AND colors can be seen here - I'd like it exact, if possible. http://www.ecinter.net/frontstore/Item/item_zoom.asp?item_num=524&catalog_num=63&mart_id=hoo933&level=&mother_catalog_num=786 Skin Color: Very Dark Brown. Clothing: Up to Ara. Personality: Very quiet, and very slow to anger. He seems satisfied with a happy attitude, and doesn't mind others telling him what to do, so long as they're nice about it (for the most part). He is able to adapt practically anywhere. Girls, this would be your sweetheart man right here ;D Too bad he's gay. Markings: White/yellowish spot on his face, exactly like in the picture. Eye color: Brown Eye Style: Normal, Kind. Pose: Looking cute and innocent - because he is. For the most part. xD Extra: His hands will be normal humanlike, but the actual palm will have black pads (with white markings - like on his face? up to ara) on them as a polar bear does. The same goes for his feet.
