"It's only when you're on the edge that you see one's true self."
- Paraphrased quote from Die another day
(Bing, 25%)
Bing was out exploring the mountains of the island. Large ears covered in tan fur bounced up and down next to his face. His hair was turning the same color, thinning brown hair was mixing in with a brighter shade. A bushy tail was out behind him, drifting in the wind, lazily swaying this way and that. He wore a borrowed pair of jeans and a plain white t-shirt, walking on nothing but sandals and curiosity.
Bing was short, a side effect of the serum, but so was the sharpened teeth and the small patches of fur on his back, which seemed like bigger things than a simple height deficiency. His face was thankfully normal, save for the longer black nose, his crows feet and his brown eyes stayed uneffected.
He entered the wide cave mouth he had his eye on when he started the trek up. Hiking had always been one of Bing's pastimes, living in the Arizona deserts most of his life, this walking was second nature to him.
"This looks cozy." He said, one of his ears twinged as he heard the crumbling sound of shifting rock.
"Doesn't seem that stable though...." Bing walked down the cave gingerly, careful not to trip over anything. He was halfway through when his ears picked up a BANG that echoed through the cave. The noise was followed by a rumble, and soon, Bing's eyes saw why no one's made this cave their home yet.
There was a giant boulder, headed right towards him.
Bing squeaked in terror as he stared at his impending doom, it was only when his instincts caught him that he started running out of the cave and down the mountain path, the boulder, trampling over the dusty trail, rolled after him.
He let out a scream. "YAHHHHHHHH!!!!"

James-----------75%----------------------
James looked at Bing. "Why the hell did I let you bring me here?" He got to the flat and waited outside the cave not liking how it looked. "You're going to get yourself killed." The pads on James' feet were apmle and he didn't need shoes so he stuck to a pair of jeans. "Cozy for what? A colony of bats?" James looked in as Bing yelled and started running after him. "What the hell did you do?" James yelled at him as they were running

"I don't know! Just run!" Bing yelled over the overwhelming sound of the rumbling. These were one of those times that he was thankful that serum kicked in, he wouldn't be able to run this far on his own energy alone.
The giant rock was closing in, and they were barely a quarter of the way down, and the path started to get all foresty after the halfway point. Dammit! What to do?! If nothing was done about the thing, part of the island, the village, and more importantly, the people were going to get flattened!
Ahh ********, it's not like James or himself was in a position to do anything now.

James hated that his serum was what it was at times like this. Polar Bear. Why polar bear? He just kept running. "Why dont' we run to the side then we can't get killed." For the most part James saw that the trees were close ahead and hoped that maybe that would stop it.

"Well, I see the forest up ahead!" Bing said, pointing down the ledge.
They reached down the to green, grassy grounds of the island. The cracks of wood filled Bing's ears as he looked behind him. The boulder was stuck between two tree trunks, he grinned a little and chuckled a little bit, turning his back to it. The laughing didn't last long, his ears caught a few more sounds, the wood was splintering, and he heard the tree crack a little bit. This hiatus wasn't going to last very long...
"The trees can hold them, but they're rotten..."
Bing took a moment to catch his breath and growled.
He turned to James, "Alright?"

James heaved a heavy sigh as he tried to catch his breath. "For...Now...I'm...Good." James moved up to where the rock was stuck. "Think we should tell Dr. Duvert about this? Forget I said that." James stepped a good ten feet away from the rock. "Now why does this always happen to us?"

"Beats me... we just happened... to be there at the wrong time I guess." Bing said, catching his breath.
"It's probably a surprise experiment or something, they were just waiting for someone to walk the mountain, I know it."
The trees were creeking slowly, crackling as splinters escaped from the bark of the rotten trunks.

James sat down and put his head in one of his paws. "I would suggest getting out of the way of that before those trees fall to tiny pieces." James said still catching his breath. "Why can't you learn to play solitare like normal experements? Instead of creating adventure like this?" James looked at the boulder and returned his gaze to the trees. "And why am I always the one who gets stuck here?"

"You play solitaire?" Bing asked, "Lucky, they're doing all the stamina tests with me, tredmills and all that stuff."
At least he could play solitaire, he played the game whenever he was trapped in his cubicle he called a job. Bing backed away from the splintering wood, the trees were on their last limb.
"Yeah.... Good idea."

"Yah the polar bear is an intelegent animal not a fast one." James stood up walked over to Bing. "Your duplex or mine? It should have lost enough momentum that the strong trees will keep it at bay for a while."

Bing's words were interupted by the final snap of the trunks. Now, they were still on the mountain, there's still enough momentu-
Screw it, They were running down the path once more.

James was right on Bings tail. Almost literaly. "You suck. You know that. You su--" James was cut off as he trupped and started rolling down the hill. He kept his arms over his head and his eyes closed as he moved faster and faster.

"Me? Or the boulder?!" Bing yelled, looking back at how close James was.
His foot tripped off a vine, and he began to fall.
((Block...))
