Ok, I had this conversation with my mom the other day, I brought up the new amendment that was being proposed, you know the one banning gay marriage (that thing better not pass!!!). Anyways, I asked her opinion on it and she replied saying that homosexuals don't exist, it's just people want to get together and have a better financial advantage in the world because it's easier to have more money, with the tax breaks, and to have two full time working adults.
Any comments?

I don't think I have comments. I'm too speechless to comment. Does she actually believe this? Really?
And does she realize that these are precisely the same priviledges heterosexuals have been taking advantage of for hundreds of years?

SPMito Yeah, she does believe this, this is probably why I'm depressed all the time u.u;;; It makes me sad My mother would get a disgusted look and a quick and pointed lesson should she ever spout such drivel. I mean... totally ridiculous. I can't believe that people think this sort of thing. Then again, some people still believe the world is flat. And people wonder why I, at times, feel that humanity should be extinguished.

I'm betting somewhere out there there are people taking advantage of marriage for it's benefits, of any sexual orientation. There's that whole immigration cliché where people will marry so that they can get citizenship in a country.
Saying all we want to do is get the tax benefits is ludicrous, saying we don't exist is outrageous. How does she explain the GLBTs that don't want to get married at all? Some have children, all of us have to think about retirement savings. We're just like everyone else, it's just high time that some of were given the same protections, privileges, rights, and responsibilities should we choose the path of marriage.

Any comments? Wow, coming out will be fun. If she ever asks you, you can say "Well, I like boys(/girls?), but I can't be a homosexual 'cuz they don't exist, right?" Anyway, that amendment was defeated a week or two ago, yay! unfortunately, the Marriage Protection act did pass the other day.

Thats nothing, one time my uncle made anti-gay jokes then asked me if I hated those quote "satan worshipers" and this is my uncle with then lesbian porn collection.
