The story behind it all:

Were Kollins stalked her prey, her bare feet making no noise on the soild of her homeland. Yellow eyes gleamed in the shaded forest and her tail swished back and forth behind her. The wolf-woman smiled as ashe smelled her prey approach. This would be a good dinner for her. She crept forward a little more and halted. Now to let her food come to her. It wasn't long of a wait, and a rabbit came out nibbling on some brush. It didn't notice the wolf watching it, waiting for the right moment to strike. She didn't have to wait long, with a growl Were leapt from her spot, slashing with her claws at the rabbit. However fast the rabbit was, it wasn't quite fast enough and it was caught, claws slicking its soft throat to kill it swiftly. Yes, she would eat well tonight.

"Kollins!" A childs voice cut through the soft song of the trees, and the haze of the kill. "Kollins!" a young boy ran up, and panted as he halted. His hands resting on his knees for support. "The Elders wish to see you Kollins." Blue eyes held fear, both of the Elders, and the young female he spoke to. Were had been known to have a violent temper, especially at bad news. "I. . .I don't think its anything good." He looked at her, waiting for her reaction, hoping he wouldn't get hurt.

The older wolf showed no outward sign she had heard the child except for a slight movement of her ears and tail that could almost have been imagined. The pause seemed to last an eternity, blue and yellow eyes locked. Finally, Were spoke, her whisper soft voice betraying none of her inner thoughts. "Very well." Eye contact was broken as she looked towards her rabbit. "Give this to your parents," Were handed the rabbit to the boy, she no longer had an appetite. She knew very well why they had called her before the Council. She likely knew what was going to happen, as they had done this before, though to another of her tribe.

She didn't even clean the blood off her claws before appearing at the Council tent. The Elders seemed to have been waiting patiently for her to return from hunting. She sat in the center of the tent, a semicircle of much older wolves in front of her.

"Were Marie Kollins," the center one spoke. "You know why we have called you here?"

"Yes," She replied softly, for the first time in her life Were was scared. Scared of the verdict she knew was going to be reached.

"Then you also know why we have to do this."

This time she nodded, keeping her eyes strictly on the dirt in front of her.

"Then you know that you will only be welcomed back once the Disease is gone."

That was what the violence was known as in her tribe, a disease. It ran in families, and the only cure was having a child. Children mellowed out the small tribe of Werewolves. And Were was being sentenced to have a child. The only way to "cure her" or so they thought. She was being temporarily exiled, until she was calm enough to come back and raise her child in the home she knew.

"I wish you luck, and sorry no male can go with you this time. We will accept any child of yours, full blood or not." Usually the tribe was lucky enough to have a male and a female both with the Disease to have a child together, but this time, Were was alone, to meet a stranger and have his child. She must be cursed.

"We'll see you back with your child one day." And the Elders left, leaving Were alone and scared.

The fear didn't last long, she soon became angry, angrier than she had ever been before. She howled several times as she packed some stuff into a pack to take out of the forest, out of the only home she had ever known
As she left the forest that was her home a single tear fell down her pale cheek and the elders words echoed in her head. Maybe she didn't need a mate, she could do just fine on her own, and if she didn't have a child she could make a home Outside. She paused as she took her last step to go outside the tribal lands and looked back once before shaking her head and walking forward, not looking back.

She looked for a place to live, but came to a place called The Gaia Maternity and Fertility Clinic. She missed her home, and her decision to not have a child, while appealing to her anger did nothing to stop the homesickness. She could go home if she just had a child. With no second thoughts she walked inside the building.
