because they use bots. Not only did they use bots, but they admitted to using bots. And yet, they're complaining because -- o noes! -- Blizzard enforced their ToS. Sounds familiar, eh?

I was talking to someone the other day who bought a new account after his old one was banned. He was trying out a bot just to see what it was like. It was a 30 second trial. He was banned the next day.
He wasn't complaining. He said he was glad because it showed him that Blizzard wasn't messing around and ruining the game. He admitted up front that he was stupid and shouldn't have been playing around with that stuff in the first place. He fully admitted that it was his fault, Blizzard did what was best, and he didn't mind buying a new account and starting from scratch.
That's the right attitude, imo. People who COMPLAIN because THEY broke the rules and were punished are just idiotic.

One of my old co workers had 3 accounts banned for botting. You'd think he'd learn after the first time. But people are stupid.

I know this will sound stupid, but I don't understand what botting is. What is it?

Jo Savage I know this will sound stupid, but I don't understand what botting is. What is it? Depending on the program, it generally helps you get more gold and level more quickly. The bots that I know of in WOW are basically AI characters who run around in circles killing anything in the area for the gold and items. My fiance spotted them before and to test it, he went around and tagged each kill before they could get it. It, the bot, didn't say a thing, just went on to the next thing it its immediate area, no pausing, no stopping, no calling him a dirty cheat for stealing their kills. That's how you usually spot them.
