I'm teaching some people how to role-play, and we're just about ready to move it into a 'forum setting' please do NOT post here without my express permission! These are lessons, not a standard Role-Play scenario. if you think you would like to also learn or think you could be very patient and help teach please PM me before trying to role-play.

This RP will be based in the wild, and infamous forests of the planet of "Matri" A world filled with magic and rampant monsters. The planet of Matri is one so very saturated with raw magic power that any mortal being who sets foot, (or paw) apon it's lush surface finds his or herself able to comunicate with any of the planets inhabitants. Unlike many a world, Matri has never been 'cultivated' or industrialized, while they do have many of modern earth's conviniences, they planet is still wild with living green growth. Settlements on Matri are ussually clusters of small towns scattered about in the forest there are roads that lead from one to another but traveling them is just as dangerous (if not more so) than tramping aimlessly through the thick jungle-like trees.

Matri is inhabited by many dangerous and irritating creatures, including but not limited to,
Gadmirs, giant acid-spitting cobras, larger than an 'anaconda'
Hokkas, dog-sized nearly sentient rats. they will eat almost anything.
Buzzar dragons, A.K.A "Mini-dragons". small brightly colored lizard-like dragon's with wings, who chase anything remotely "shiny" or will torment anyone who strikes their fancy.
feral dragons, a matritian dragon who has gone insane and reverted to its base and predatorial instincts
Loulgers, which are enormous and inteligent crocodile-like creatures.
Ferealas, long-legged, long necked, carnivourous mammilian creatures which can be utilized as mounts if one first castrates and declaws them. and if one is bold and or stupid.
Glyers, small winged monsters similar to pteredactyls with blade-like spikes along their wing edge. they use these spikes to dismember their prey. These are ussually found in the scourge plains.
Gazles, four-legged, armored, mammals. They vaugely resemble ankleosaurs.
Rakfants, Deer-like creatures with horns that resemble oversized bottle openers. they also have extermely sharp cloven hooves and armored fore-legs.



Wolves- Just like earth wolves and in the same variety, they are inteligent and widely accepted. and due to Matritian magic can speak "english" or common.

Cercanths- similar to wolves but larger and more sophisticated. They have small horns and spines decorating their backs and legs. Like wolves they speak common.

Humans- I expect all of you are familiar with the human race

Gryphons- Large mythical creatures with the fore-parts of an eagle and the hind-parts of a lion. Matritian Gryphons come in wide ranges of metalic "precious metal' colors, including gold, copper, bronze, brass, and the royalty is Silver.

Matritian Dragons- Legendary Dragons, long semi-reptilian creatures, which meander on four legs and have the ability to breath fire. Their heavily scaled and armored hides come in a large variety of colors and paterns. everything from stripes to spots to blotches. and no two dragons, (unless they are 'identical twins') have the same coloration or markings. These dragons also have large bath-like wings, leathery with scales covering the outer side. they can fly with these.

Sacri Dragons- Dragons native to the island of Sacri, they are mammilian dragons covered in fur, which give birth to live young. they also run on two legs and can live off of fruit.

Lightning Birds- Enormous sentient birds with rainbow-colored feathers, they have the unique capability to fly outside of the planet's atmosphere, where they target their prey and streak down at impossible speeds to catch their food, they flame-retardant feathers are wreathed with flame as they re-enter the atmosphere, and they look like a streak of blazing light, hence the name, 'Lightning Birds'.

Kaijins- Basically very similar in nature to "Saiyans". They reseble humans wit long prehensile tails, and thick, spiky black hair. They are born with super-human strength and a natural gift to manipulate the energies around them. They are were not native to Matri but one of matri's rulers brought them here.

Unicorns- just like the mythical beasts. Elegant horses with a single spiraling irridescent horn sprouting from the middle of their foreheads, this horn can be almost any color and is often pearlized or metallic. Unicorns on Matri also possess the innate ability to shape-shift. They also come in almost any solid color. including, Black, White, blue, Red, Purple,..ect. and their hooves are often in colors cooresponding with their horns.

Chimeras- Due to the polymorphing nature of unicorns, and their unusual attraction to species other than their own. Matri is crowded with a wide variety of "Chimeras" or beings of multiple races, (I.E. half Dragon, or quarter gryphon / human...ect...) So if you choose you may be a creature born of any of the above, provided of course you have unicorn heritage. (please no more than half or quarter breeds please!)

Off-worlders / Tourists- If you do not desire to be one of the native inhabitants of Matri, than this world is very versitile, due to the dimensions attraction, people and races from almost any other world / culture have been known to find their way here. So you may choose a character from vitually any background! (I.E. 'Sesshomaru', from "Inuyasha" or a 'dragon rider' from "pern" ect..)

A lone boy wandered easily through the forest, gliding through the dense underbrush without making a noise, tight black pants wrapped around his legs tucking into shin-high black leather boots, He wore a full-sleeved shirt with belt-cuffs which bound the cloth tight at the wrist. the rest of the shirt was a soft grey color and noticably looser than the rest of his clothing, it was covered by a thick black cloth vest on his chest, but both were open enough to reveal just a little chest and colarbone at the top. his hair was also black and drapped wildly about his face obscuring most of his features, and only pulled into a pony-tail at the very back. He wandered the forest in half-crouching movements head cocking warily for any sound and even sniffing at the air as he progressed.

((see if you can have your character show up, and then 'spot' the boy or smell him or something, he would smell kinda "musky" like some animals in addition to the vauge human scent.))

((good! I can work with that! you might try next time to have your character look around a bit more, it'll give your fellow RPers more to work with! but You'll get that more with practice! great start!))

The youth froze at the sound of a voice in the woods, head lifting and nostrils flaring as he scented the air like a wild beast, a feral growl trickled from his throat as the spicy yet vaugely foreign scent reached him. crouching lower into the foliage and bushes he scouted nervously around him, trying to spot the potential predator through the trees, seeing nothing from his current angle he hesitantly crawled forward, skittering on the balls of his feet and his carefully placed hands. After several more moments his head shot up again, this time he was almost close enough to have touched Goldblaze, the dragon had been well-hidden behind the thick branches and the young boy drew back with a startled snarl, freezing in place as he gazed at the enormous creature before him.

((an understandable dilema. And here's the trick, write what you want your character to 'attempt'... don't worry I'm sure you'll get the hang of it pretty quick, just follow my lead, feel free to experiment I can work with alot! ))

The youth gave a feral growl squirming backwards in an almost reptilian-like movement to escape the reach of those huge claws, he then grabbed up a large branch swiping it at the offending draconic talon, before bolting behind the cover of trees to peer at goldblaze angrily.

((how so? I left it open-ended, I said what mine would attempt to do, I didn't say if he managed it... hmmm.... I'm accostomed to a variety of 'jump a little ahead' Role-playing, it helps things move a little faster, because if you stop before EVERY possible action the role-playing will take forever, just state that your character 'pins' mine or tries to, then I'll know more what you're trying to do, ... at least for future reference...))

when he saw the great beast coming forward the boy tried to make a run for it, only to find himself once again facing the monster's claws, he froze in place eyeing the sharp talons before him. crouching down on the ground the youth sat warily, finally he let out a low whining growl followed by a hiss. His actions were incredibly beastial, and seemed to clash with his neat, well fitting clothing. even his hair was clean despite it's wild appearance. eyes flickered behind the draping black locks, almost glowing in the dim forest light as he snarled at the dragon. He waited, poised with his muscles tense, ready to spring if neccesary.

((define 'more than one entry'? do you mean multiple characters? yeah you can do that.))

The boy pulled back a little gazing at the dragon oddly, finally he curled his lip, "What do you know of my 'species' beast?" He growled, his voice was deep and husky seeming to clash with his almost teenage appearance. His eyes watched the dragon unwaveringly and unblinking, and as the youth shifted slightly in place his eyes gleamed in the filtered sunlight, showing gold behind his raven locks.

((that entirely depends on the interaction. ... if you are introducing yourself, or if you are interacting with multiple people... or sometimes none at all.... hmmm... It's something you need to play by feel, but it does work sometimes yes.))

Those golden eyes narrowed, and the youth chuckled darkly, "Exactly... you know nothing of MY species ..." he brushed his mane of hair back with one hand, his deep voice issuing a growl, "I have gold eyes,... because I was born with them..." As he spoke the raven hair seemed to extend, his clothing flowed and became thick black fur, claws tipped his fingers, a tail sprouted from his spine, and his face narrowed and lengthened until a wolfish muzzle stared back at Goldblaze, "I know I am a beast, Dragon!" he snarled in his now even more gutteral voice. "How did you come to be here?"

the were wolf snorted a laugh, "I'd understand more than you think dragon. Why did you attack me in the first place beast?" He sneered past his lupine muzzle, unlike the dragon, his own clothing had disapeared with his morph, his incredibly thick coat of black fur was all that covered his heavily muscled form now. His ears twitched back and forth, warily taking in the sounds of the forest as he glared back at the now semi-humanoid being before him.
