He stood overlooking the plains, letting the wind rustle his mane. Above he heard the sound of Crow calling. His companion had been trying to urge him to move on from this spot but he'd remained there despite that. All things happened for a reason and, for some reason, he had been compelled to stay here... Some reason...

Randee stood in the plains, looking up at the evening stars. What a beauiful night it was as the wind blew through Randee's long mane. Randee smiled and tilted down her head, looking at the tall grass below sway back and forth in the wind. Randee's moment of tranquility was inturrupted by the terrifying sound of a bird. Was that a crow? Oh, Randee had always been told that a crow was a symbol of disfortune. Randee took a step back, feeling slightly afraid.

Crow didn't often fly at night. He didn't like being out and would've preferred to be nesting peacefully in his tree. Rest... No rest for the weary. He landed on the ground, hopping towards the stallion.
He nickered softly, stepping away from the bird as he glanced down for a moment. His gaze then lifted, catching sight of white against the backround of midnight. Black and white... Black and white. "I told you things happened for a reason, Crow... After you've spent so much time trying to tell me that."

"Hello? Is anyone out there?" asked Randee loudly, circling around in her space, searching for the sound of the noise. In the distance there was a dark figure that seemed to be talking with a bird or somekind. Perhaps that is what the noise was coming from? Randee took a step back. "Hello?" she shouted, hoping the figure would hear her.

"Good eve." He called across the distance between them, tilting his head up in a slight nod. The mare seemed frightened. He could hear it in her voice... There was nothing to fear in the darkness. He knew that well enough.

"Is anyone out there?" screamed Randee, beginning to become utterly terrified. "HELLO!?" Randee's legs grew wobbly as she felt as if she was going to cry in fright...something was definetly out there.

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself..." He murmured softly as he moved towards her, pale eyes shimmering in the darkness. "Don't be frightened. Yes, there is someone out there. I'm sure there are many out there... But I? I am here."

Randee took yet another step back away from the approaching stallion cautiously, her eyes widened in fear. "And who may you be?" asked Randee, curious in fright.

"I may be many things... A brother. A friend. A mate. A guardian. A protector... So many things and yet, tonight I am simply me." He bowed his head with great curtesy towards the mare.

Well, at least this stallion wasn't violent, or nearly anywhere near as scary as she expected him to be. His face was a bit of a haunting image to her, it seemd to convey many emotions at once. Randee smiled nervously, still unsure on how she felt about the stallion. "That's...nice," said Randee, unsure on just how to respond. "What are you doing out so late?"

"I could ask you the same question." He smiled, the corners of his mouth seeming to soften slightly as he did so. "The world isn't always safe at night... Don't you have someone to protect you?"

"Well, I have Lea-," started Randee, but then took a pause. No, Leah was not with her, nor has she been with her for quite a bit. Leah had returned home from her adventures throughout the lands, but she always seems to run off when Randee is near. Perhaps she is hiding something. "Uh, no, I suppose I don't." Randee smiled akwardly at the stallion. "May I ask for your name?" asked Randee.

"Draven..." He spoke softly. "Eric Draven.... And who might you be, mare?" His tail flickered against his flanks. The night had gone still... Peaceful. "Is there somewhere I could escort you to? To make sure that you get there safely? As I said... It is far too dark to be wandering alone."

"Randee," she replied with the slightest hint of a smile. "Well, I suppose you could escort me, but I really feel safe. My home is out in the mountains, if you want to venture off that far, but it isn't neccessary. I've taken the walk many times by myself." Randee looked at the stallion strangely. He seemed to want her to protect her from something, but from what? Was something dangerous afoot in the lands that she was left unnoticed about? Perhaps the stallion himself is dangerous, and just trying to escort her away from any place where people will see them. Randee took a cautious step backwards.

"I have ventured that far before, Randee... And farther." He nodded slowly as he took a step away from her in order to see if that would ease her nervousness. "My home was past the mountains, somewhere on the plains on the other side... The grass was always so beautiful in the summer." He snorted softly, breath coming from his nose in the form of a misty cloud due to the cool of the evening. "Winter will be here soon... The mountains will be covered in snow."
