 Dysis troted back and forth in a sort of pace, his head lifted toward the sky looking abit disheartened. "Where is the sun?" He asked himself. The sky was covered in dark rolling clouds, the covered the sun. It didn't feel like a storm was coming, but Dysis felt anxious anyway.
He snorted and stoped his pacing, shaking his head back and forth, his mane moving with it as his tail brushed his flanks.
"What a dull day." The young bae muttered and started to slink across the clearing. His monarch wings seemed to droop. He really wanted to play in the warmth of the sun, since the cold was coming, but it seemed that today would be a day with no sun.
He heard a low rumble. Dysis pawed the ground lightly as he stoped at the edge of the clearing, and looked over his shoulder, something sounded like thunder. Turning his body back toward the clearing, he lifted his head up and watched as the dark clouds began to multiply.
"Wow..."

 The black aeri walked through the trees, his mind wandering to nowhere in particular. It was a good day for travelling; nicely overcast and as he hadn't been tired a dawn he'd simply kept moving.
A rumble of thunder caught at his attention and he lifted his head to inspect the blackening clouds. Humm... eh? Lucius frowned, he was sure he had just heard a voice. Apparently he was not as alone in the woods as he had thought.
After a few moments, he decided on the direction that it had come from and changed his course to intercept the owner of the voice. It wasn't long before he reached the clearing and only a moment or two after that when he spotted the young bae who stood gazing at the skies.
Having nothing better to do with himself, the red-maned Nequus decided to approach rather than slipping away. He had been fortunate with making friends of late, perhaps he would make another one today. One never could tell.
Giving a soft snort to announce his presence, the intimidating aeri stepped out of the trees to regard the colt with his featureless orange eyes and awaited a reaction.

Dysis's ears perked upward at the snort and her turned tilted his head back as far as he could and fluttered his wings. Behind him was a large Nequus, a type he haddn't seen before, but knew the name of from the conversation he had with the Jala.
"Woah." He said in a soft exclimation. The Aeri was huge compared to him. Dysis turned to face him and took a step toward him, and tilted his head curiously.
"You're an Aeri, right?" He asked, not caring if the question was rude or not. "Wow, you're so big! I hope I get to be that big one day, and then I could stomp about like this." He said lifting his hooves high in a sort of marching movement. Dysis laughed at himself.
"Everyone says I'll get bigger eventually."
He was a real talker, alright.

Lucius blinked in surprise, the first question he was asked usually had nothing to do with his race. Well, I suppose if the child has never seen an aeri before he wouldn't really know what to expect. I hope I don't give him a skewed schema. Ah well, he does seem a trifle unhinged in any case.
"Yes," he replied after a few moments, "I am an aeri... I don't think bae get as big as I am often if ever, nor so broad. You can still stop around though, as you clearly prove... and you will get bigger than you are, you just probably won't realise until you note that it is easier to pluck fruit from trees."
This is either going to be a very amusing encounter or a very annoying one. I am sure the natural exuberance of foals does not usually go this far... there again he is a bae; highly variable creatures.
The black stallion paced across the clearing, stopping some meters away from the colt. "My name is Lucius, what is yours, young one?"

"You never know, maybe I'm special, and will grow as tall as the trees" Dysis joked flickering his ears foreward and back, watching the bigger Nequus walk into the clearing some.
"I'm Dysis." He stated, trying to stick out his chest to look bigger or something. The Bea troted over by Lucius' side and looked back up at the darkening sky, another roll of thunder came on the wind, and it made the colt's heart beat in excitment. Though he loved his time in the sun, he equally enjoyed the dark beauty of an impending storm.

"Mmmm... well, I suppose one never knows," Lucius replied after the rumble had died away. As tall as the trees? Now that's an amusing mental image. "Tell me, Dysis," the stallion said slowly as he turned his orange eyes skywards, "do you like the rain?"
As the aeri spoke, a few fat droplets of water impacted his coat, making the skin twitch reflexively. "I certainly hope you at least tolerate it," he continued, looking back down at the colt. "It seems as though we are in for a bit of a soaking, probably quite a light show too."
As the black coated Nequus spoke, the heavens opened. Lucius unfurled his orange wings and brought them forwards until they formed a canopy over his head. "It seems I was right on one count at least," he commented as water streamed off the leathery appendages.

"I really like the rain, and the light show." The nequus said with a nod as he troted in a tight circle happily while the rain came to soak him. Light flashed in the sky and it caused Dysis to flinch alittle, but he followed it with a laugh as he he jump and pranced in the rain.
"Come on Lucius!" He exclaimed as he last little jumped landed him infront of the large Aeri. "Not afraid of getting wet, are you?" The colt teased playfully.

The black-coated stallion gave a snort of amusement at the colt's exuberance. "No, not per-se I suppose and keeping my wings raised like this for an extended period would be uncomfortable." So saying, Lucius allowed his wings to furl and tossed his head in an attempt to clear his curly forelock from his eyes.
Water began to patter nosily off the skull that the aeri wore over his face as soon as he stilled making approximately the same noise as water falling on stone. Lucius snorted as a trickle of water began to run into the nose hole, teasing his muzzle with an odd tickling sensation.
The brown-marked Nequus sneezed and tossed his head again in the hopes that the motion would persuade the water to run a new course. It worked, to a degree.
"Well," the aeri said, "at least the runoff does not go into my nostrils anymore. The trickle of water is sadly unavoidable and will probably remain annoying for a few minutes until my nose accepts that it isn't going away in a hurry."

Dysis stood up straight and shook out his mane, which just slapped his neck and stuck there. "You're being a wimp, it's just water. Watery nose never killed anyone before...I think." The colt snorted relieving his own nose of some water with a laugh.
Lighting flashed and was soon followed by a loud boom. A little yelp was emmitted from him as he dashed over to Lucius's side, crouching some. He peeked his head up and flickered his ears back and forth before sounding a whinny.
"That was loud."

The large stallion gave a snort of annoyance at the foal's cheek. "I was not being a 'wimp'," he stated coldly as the colt cowered away from the thunder. "I was stating that I was annoyed by the sensation of a constant stream of water."
A not entirely pleasant smile tugged at the black aeri's lips and his orange eyes fixed immovably on the monarch-winged bae. "You yourself may wish to note, foal, that thunder never killed anyone, Nequus or otherwise."
There were many things that Lucius would put up with from foals but accusation of cowardice was not one of them; that he tolerated from no one and nothing. Perhaps it was a little petty to throw the allegation of wimpiness back but, on the whole, the red-maned equine felt that it was to be preferred to giving the youth a kick on the hindquarters.
He hasn’t earned physical violence. Yet. “Never insinuate, Dysis," he went on quietly, "that I am cowardly for it is not so. I do not wish to feel enmity towards you but such things said even in jest have a tendency to incur my wrath. Do we understand one another?”

Dysis, who seemed to be watching the storm more than he was listening, nodded. "It just startles me some." He said commenting on the lighting and thunder. The colt turned his amber gaze to the older nequus and faced his ears foreward.
"alright, I know. If I make you mad, you'll pound me." Dysis said with a chuckle as some of his forlocks fell over his eyes. The colt walked from the Aeri's side some and looked over to him.
"do you wanna play?"

"Play?" the red-maned aeri echoed, his annoyance forgotten as bemusement moved in to take over his mind. "Well... what do you want to play. I don't promise to be any good at it."
He'd watched the others his age play when he was a colt of course but from the outside, hidden in the shade of trees, it was hard to make out what the individual games were supposed to be about. Their play had always held an odd mystique to the brown-marked aeri, probably because he wouldn't have been able to join them even if they had invited him.
As an adult, he again watched young ones play but for all his intelligence he still wasn’t quite sure what was going on but almost all of it seemed to involve running or flying about at high speed.
Well, perhaps now I will get to find out what all the fuss is about, the bone-clad aeri thought with the beginnings of excitement in his stomach.

Dysis tossed his head to the side and seemed to smirk. "I'll play anything. I quite like tag, but it seems I'm not very good at it with adults." The colt said pawing the ground lightly.
"I'm not very good at flying quickly, but my legs carry me the best the can." He said lifting his head proudly.
"What game do you want to play?" He asked curiously.

Lucius paused to watch a brilliant flash of lightning and to listen to the subsequent boom before replying. "I don't really know many games," he admitted to the young bae. "I didn't join in the other foals' games when I was young. I haven't had enough close contact with young ones such as yourself to work out what all the games are called let alone what the aim of each one is in more recent years either."
The stallion swished his soaked tail idly as he pondered what to say next. "Perhaps you could tell me about some of your favourite games and then I could choose one of those."
I think it will be interesting to finally find out what some of them are, especially from one who still plays them often.

Dysis shook off some water, not like it would help much. "Well, I like tag, and racing, and hide and seek. They basically explain them selves." The colt explained, whinnying happily.
He fluttering his wings in the rain, trying to not to let them get too soaked, or he wouldn't be able to fly very well, not like he was a great flyer now anyway.
"So pick one." The colt was getting excited as the storm kept on going.
