Uh, I normally don't care for the rating as long as the characters are, well, in character.
Normally, I tend to read Drama/Angst/Action fiction. Those usually are in the PG-13 - M range.

Anything interesting; anything where the characters are IN CHARACTER.
I love reading things with drama, angst, and romance all mixed in.
Then there's the occasional fluffy story.

I've haven't read a fanfic in a long time but I like reading romance, angst, and drama stories. I also love romantic comedy one-shots. And I agree, I will read anything that's in character. I tend to stay away from AUs but if the characters are surprising in character, I may read it. *nods*( And of course, since I'm really young, I usually stay away from the M rated ones.)

I love one-shots - I've been so busy lately that it's the only stuff I have time for, unless I started on a story a long time ago and reading right now one chapter at a time.
I don't care if it's lime or lemon - I've been reading lemon since I was fourteen. (Yes, I know I'm a tad perverted... but it's a disease I got from my twin sister.) As long as the story has good grammar and no overly OOC characters, I'm fine with that.
I hate fanfics where Sasuke says "Sakura-chan".

o3o I read lots of Fanfics. Mostly Action/Adventure/Romance and occasionally a humour fic in there. I'm a beta for someone on Fanfiction.net. It's fun 'cuz I get to read the chapters pre-released to the public.

Anything PG-13 and under that's well written and has the characters in character, be it fluff, angst, romance, humor, action, parody, or whatever...

Just somewhere around PG-13. I don't really want to go way far. Only when I'm bored, I read way far, just to gat back to the real world, because they gross me out!

I read only K, K+, or T fanfics. I never read M or higher. Someone posted this fanfic on the sasusaku LJ community once and put it under a cut. So I read the cute T rated fanfic, but after that I scrolled down the page and accidently read some of a M rate fanfic. Unfortunately she included her M rated fanfics unde the cut also. So I accidently read some of it and was like sweatdrop . I swear, the words were burned into my brain eek . That just shows how innocent I am, lol.
I usually read fluffy oneshots and comedies. I'll read a drama every once in a while .

I used to read fanfics, something happened, and so I stopped. I read one recently, which was good until I got near the end and I suddenly lost all interest.
I suppose if I read more fanfics I'd want the characters to be in character. I'd prefer no made-ups unless they're vital to the story and don't mess with the relationships of other characters. Um, I'd hate fanfics where a character would die because they were disliked by the author. ( Just don't put them in the fiction, yo? gonk ) I like comedy, romance, drama, and maybe some action...? Well, I suppose not so much action, unless it was done really well. ( I remember getting lost alot during action scenes when I read fictions )
Um... I prefer fluffly romance... I suppose the more mature stuff is alright, but I'm really picky about how it must be done. ( I have to have my fluff no matter what. v.v;; ) So I doubt I'd find very many T+ fics that I'd like, if I were looking for them. xD;;
I guess the reason I don't read fictions is because you can become so dissapointed in the end, and it ruins the rest of the story, no matter how good it was... ( But I suppose that applies for any story, I just seem to see it more in fictions. razz )
