*Locking her jaws upon a long dried bone the red and cream coated lioness grinded her teeth across it’s ivory finish contently, all while resting within the privacy of her own safe haven. She came here often to get away from the world and her mate. She had been getting into many fights with him lastly, so she spent more and more time here, trying to get away from all of the worry that engulfed her relationship; he was hiding something from her.
It was about his past life and pride, this much she knew, from the few times he did in fact talk to her about it at all, though he would never really say what happened, he left bits and pieces out to make her feel needed.
A dolorous filled sigh passed her chest as she slid herself away from her snack. Tiah was very upset right now, and this could be seen in her body language and spiteful expression. Without any words and left her bone behind and started off in a mad dash. No matter how far she ran though she could never get away, Tiah would never be good enough for him, would she? This thought played through out her mind like a never ending reminder of her lack knowledge. She loved a male she hardly knew; was it loved at all?
Panting deeply now the lionesses slowed just after a few minutes of running and with a deep grown rolled herself onto her side and panted softly. She was so lost; just a week ago she had gathered the courage to return to her birth place, where her mother and father both hailed from, and everything seemed fine, until her mate told her that he wouldn’t be living within the pride with her.
Maybe he had fallen in love with someone else? Tiah couldn’t bare the thought; panting softly the lioness rested against the warm ground; her green eyes narrowed and sorrow filled... She was ripping herself apart emotionally.*

Red eyes ever alert watched the lioness come into the territory and fell down, panting. Strange, he didn't think anyone would be this ways out here. When he had decided to leave the Elephant Graveyard to travel to see what the big deal was with the Pride Lands. Why did he father want him to go there? For a Pride that would help him. No, that peace-loving group would not help him, it would only corrupt. The Pride Lands was not a place for the likes of a blood-thirsty, femalizing lion like him.
He didn't know much about his family, only that his mother was killed by hyenas and that his father was the only one else. Lies, it was only when he died did he tell him of a brother and uncle. Stupid old coot...a brother and uncle? Who were they, he'd kill them himself. No one should share his genes, his genes were his. If he were to pass them on, then so be it, but knowing there was something related to him....a brother and uncle....
The dark male moved casually closer to the female. She was tired, she had just had a run, it was obvious that she was tired. The male got closer and stood over her.
"Tired?"
He asked with a dark smirk. He had no smile, only a smirk and grin. He scowled, he frowned, he pouted. His range of happiness were that of evil gestures. Now who was this female, what was she doing here? Was this trip even pointful? There was no reason to go there, might as well high-tail it home.

*Quickly the female gathered herself and pulled her body upward. This new comer already made her uneasy, the sent of many females hung along his coat like bad perfume... Envy colored eyes laced along his nasty smirk as she spoke.*
“What do you want?”
*She snapped bitterly. Tiah was in no mood to speak to anyone, especially a male that had popped out of know where, looking for conversation. With out any reaction to his hovering over her the female lifted herself to her paws and stood still; though she was a female and her frame was smaller then his, Tiah wouldn’t let anyone take advantage of her.*

"Well, what do you expect for any male to do when they spot a female tired and lying down after a run? To simply pass by and do nothing to aid her...or himself?"
A sly smirk crossed his maw and he held his head high. This female was rather small, then again females were usually so. At least this one had some guts to talk to him like that, then again she did not know this one very well. Carefully he rose to his feet and began to circle her like a shark before it attacks.
"Well, now what were you running from? A predator? A hunter? a Two-legger? or maybe your problems."
He spoke, his red eyes laid fixed upon her fur. His brown fur ripped over his muscles as he walked a long, his body riddled with scars of past fights to survive. That is what he knew most, fighting to survive. The weak only feed the strong, he was the strong and his foes turned to the weak. His mane had been drenched in much blood of the fallen and still retain the taste of their life-giving fluid even long after being cleansed.
"Now, female, what is your name and what brings you here to these territories?"
His crimson eyes had their focus...the focus was nowhere upon her body but rather her tail.

"i would think thats exactly what most females would pray for such a lion as yourself to do. Afterall, your not exactly easy on the eyes......"
a faint smirk passed the lions lips as his low voice growled from behind the seemingly average frame of the dark lion. Luminescent ocean blue eyes traced the figure of the male as the mate of the female stood looming. His head hung low, close to the ground, his eyes half closed. he had followed his mate from a far knowing full well that shed probably get herself into trouble by letting her frustrations with him get the better of herself.
"Perhaps we should be asking you why youve decided to soil her presence with your being here hmm?"
the dark crimson colored lion tilted his head to the side staring at the male as he moved to step forward towards his mate. His eyes never straying from the red eyed male. Moving his frame almost protectivly in front of what was something he considered his own.
"run along little cub before you get yourself hurt, Afterall it would be such a tragedy to see such a lion as yourself laying on your back gasping for one last breath of air....."

*Tiah was about to contract her claws to attack when her mate stepped into play; he must have been following her again; with narrowed eyes she stepped back and frowned, displeased with this whole situation.*
“Adonai...”
*She wouldn’t start a fight with him, he was right to have come when he did; Tiah couldn’t fight and really didn’t want to. With a soft sigh the female rested her gazed upon his dark pelt and smiled to herself. He always did have an odd way of showing that he cared… well, that’s what she liked to believe. Tiah’s green eyes softly narrowed as she gazed at her mate and the newcomer, if anything happened she would step in, conflict to her after all was very pointless.*

The rogue male stopped just as the other stepped before his nice view. A pity. He himself would not want to instigate a fight, however he usually ends up in one. Perhaps it is because he is a fool and only cares for the blood of another.
"It would be damn shame if I were to die here in this barren basin."
He said. He stood himself straight, and tall, smirking again. He never smiled, no, it was always a smirk or grin, his only positive gesture of "happiness". But to another it was a gesture that would confuse, frighten, and anger.
"What would be a real shame is if that pretty female did not have your cubs. Now that would be a damn shame. I bet many males would be. Approximately, ten or so."
He spoke, throwing out the number. That number was not a random one, oh no, it was very in fact a good reason behind it. His body reeked of the pheromones of females. He would not deny it.
"That aside, who are you to call me a cub? If anything my presence only made it better from the hell-hole she was in. How about you run along and leave the two of us together, I am sure she would not object once we get to know each other."
Sometimes...he never knows when to shut up.

Adonai grinned, the white razors of his fangs flashing his head continuing to lay low towards the ground as his body remained almost hunched forward. Almost as though he were suffering from years of poor posture. he began to circle the male. Much in the same fashion as his red eyed counterpart with his mate. Exchanging condescending glances and arrogant grinns. This confrontation seemed like nothing more then a stare down between two battle ready lions.
"my ten! that is a big number for your age isnt it little one? though i cant help but wonder. If you cant even overcome the weakness of your own....lionhood how can you expect to even attempt to call yourself anything more then a cub?"
his grinned seemed to widen with pleasure, almost itching for a fight he couldnt help but want a challenge. However fighting small game was never his thing. He disliked picking on those smaller then him, perhaps it was a matter of honor or perhaps personal principle. But either way he found it difficult to resist tearing the little cub apart. Adonai raised his right paw up towards his face, extending the unnaturally long razor sharp claws from within his hand as his tongue moved to graze the blades of his long nails.

“Adonai... stop it now!”
*Tiah called out to him with a frustrated snarl. He didn’t care! He was doing it for himself, his own personal gain! With flashing teeth of her own the lioness quickly withdrew her claws and stepped out in front of the two. The marking upon her back danced as she quickly spun herself around and spoke to the brown coated male.*
“You’re disgusting and any female that would have you shouldn’t be considered a female at all.”
*With that said she turned her gaze to her mate and snarled.*
“And you, you are NO better then him! I will not be belittled by you anymore.”
*With a quick swipe at Adonai and then the brown male Tiah frowned and quickly took of in a dash, running far away from the two. She felt so small now, why did males have to be so foolish? Without any kind warning as to where she would be the lioness kept on running… until both males were out of sight.
When she finally stopped she found herself resting against a large rock formation, panting softly to herself. Face down she silently wept, why did the gods frown upon her- why did she feel so small? Without any words the lioness moved herself up again and slowly trotted back to the Pride lands, without the company of her mate.*

Kinari smirked and caressed his cheek that she had hit. He was not surprised, had to happen eventually, usually did. She was a good female, she was very good indeed to stand up for herself. Maybe not the one he would be seeking, but still good nevertheless.
"Well, well. Now isn't that something."
He murmured with a admirationable smirk. And put his paw back down. He had an urge to follow her, but decided against it. She was not the one he had seeking. The one he wanted to find was someone who was stupid enough to struggle against his ways and yet still want him. Stupid as it seems, it was what he wanted. Gives him something to entertain him.
"Well, as much as I would like to rip you apart, 'Adonai', but I got better things to do than to sit here looking good for you. How about you go and apologize to the female before you lose her."
He said, turning away and heading in the same general direction. After all his desitination was the Pride Lands as well. If he were to meet her again, he may not hesitate to get to her before this male did. Then again, he would feel some pint of guilt afterwards, though it would be brief before he moved on.
"Good bye, dipstick."
He called back as he wandered away from the dark red male. It was time to paint his paws with the blood of an innocent prey.

"typical....."
he spoke, in a low growl. Ignoring the words of his red eyed counterpart. Adonai had nothing more to say, the other male had left and his mate had run off once again controlled by her own emotions. he shook his head in disappointment. she wasnt worth the effort, at least not right now. he turned away from the direction that the two had run off in and had begun to move in the opposite direction slowly. his head hanging low as it usually did, however not out of shame but rather habit. he wasnt heading in any direction in particular, he never was. However he wasnt in much of the mood to deal with the emotional trips of his mate. The episodes she often went through seemed to rip him apart from the inside out, more so then the personal issues he had yet to come to terms with. If she really wanted to talk to him, she could seek him out and vice versa.
