Okay, first i'd like to state the obvious...
YOU'RE ON GAIA.
that means you like anime in some form or another, or else you wouldn't want your avi looking like one.
so we've got that one down.
next, YOU ALL LIKE CARS... MORE SPECIFICALLY TUNER CARS.
otherwise, you wouldn't be in this guild.
finally, i'm sure YOU MUST HAVE SOME CURIOSITY AS TO KNOW HOW EACH OF US ACTS OR LOOKS LIKE IN REAL LIFE.
So what's the best excuse to your parents other than "Hey i'm gonna go travel to meet my friends i just started talkin' to on the internet"...?
"I WANNA GO TO ANIME EXPO NEXT YEAR!!!"
Why you should:
4-day convention covering 4 to 5 hotels and three whole convention center floors...
1,000+ merchants all competing to give you the best rare and hard-to-find anime/manga/japanese culture deals they can to increase their business...
rare events like autograph raffles and lunches with CLAMP and other manga hard hitters...
and of course, just as Japan = Anime...
Japan also = Tuner cars. ^__^
And i work as "staff resources" meaning i help fellow staff with their work problems or act as "staff police". I'm doing so this year and next year and the year after as well. So i'm a full-fledged staffer.
(and i know at least JZA would like to see a 400hp hatchback that's NOT a 240 or a civic).
and heck, after the convention ends, we could stay an extra 3 days to make a full 7 to visit hardcore places like SuperAutobacs USA, the various Japanese Mitsuwa Marketplaces, and especially for JZA and anyone interested, dealer-hopping to various tuner-car sales places to find that right vehicle for your future.
This is just a suggestion of course, since our "fearless leader" has to approve and we'd need more people to show up so we can designate ourselves a actual "team".
... i think that'd be a nice goal... all of us create our own showcar and race team.
something to think about if we all ever get to meet under one roof... or more specifically, one car or anime convention.

Yeah, I'm for that. When is it? You don't need my approval. xD ******** that, just go for it if I can't make it. But, I'll probably go. I'm kinda tired of looking for VR4's online, it's nothing like seeing the cars for reals. Coming to Cali to check them out would be a great idea, because we all know Cali cars are always in the best shape! Yay!

Usually AX is the 1st weekend of July, but i believe it's been kicked early to involve the end of June.
Now, i'm straining on whether or not to scrap my car and get another Evo, or scrap the car to someone who i know will take care of it and invest 100% into my current MR. So i'm still deciding what will happen in that aspect.

I'm talking about the San Jose Mitsuwa...and the Q-Cup and golfland in Milpitas. i dunno where RBMotoring is...i live in Marina...so yah. lol. i go up there from time to time. but dang....hopefully my car will be finished by AX this year. lol. i'm heading up to ATTARCO on friday to check for any early model MR2 shortblocks, and ill probably hit up Illegal Garage and see what Max has as far as Levin fenders too. lol. but yeah, when i find out the days for AX, ill request them off. stupid walmart....gotta be hella in advance if i want more than 1 day off

i think i can go.. i have family in cali....but i can't stay the extra 3 or 4 days cuz i have my boat race pratices.. ahhh i'm scared of airplanes... crying ohh well at least i'll be on the plane for like 1 or 2 hours!! yay!!

i was hoping i could go head-to-head with you too.... ;__;
everything's still in the grey as far as the events are concerned. I guess we just gotta wait things out a bit more.
finally got one torino re-fabbed in the mazda. the rail i did was off by 2cm but it still made me sit and feel wierd in the car.
