All you need to put the name/character you would go by.
"AVAST YE! I am Kiss My Shotgun who hereby shall be known as Hermione Granger."

"GREETINGS EARTHLINGS I am Kiss My Shotgun, who shall be known to you Earthians as Riley Jane!"
Something like that. =] The positions do not have to be a role playing character, but can if you like. Of course, no two people can be Harry Potter, remember that. If the cannon character you wanted is already taken, simply choose another. But they cannon character could be up for grabs in the role play!!
