Okay, i'm sure that you all know (If you don't then i'm sorry for telling you) that the new Doctor is David Tennant. What do you guys think about this?

He has a lot to live up to after Eccleston's performance, I should think. Whilst he may not feature in most peoples' favourites list, I admire him an awful lot ^ ^...
However, I'm COMPLETELY confident in Tennant's abilities. He proved himself absolutely wonderful as Casanova and has a flair and charm all his own. I'm almost entirely sure he'll make a brilliant Doctor -- once I get him out of frock coats and into something more modern in my mind.

Yeah. I think it sux that Christopher doesn't wanna do another series but that's his choice and i hope David does well. I still think that Christopher is an amazing actor and he did really well in this series of Doctor Who biggrin biggrin

David Tennant RULES.. I wana see him in a Kilt! I WANA! xd heart Seriously though, they couldn't afford to keep Eccles anyways.. he's too big a name actor. Whereas David Tennant is used to working TV, and he is a huge fan of the show. Plus he's actualy sexy (unlike Christopher) What more could you want??

Excuse my for being perverse for a moment here, but you want to see him in a kilt? I want to see whether he'll wear it the traditional way xD... Mmm, now that WOULD be fun.
Shame they wouldn't do that anyway. I mean, if the BBC cuts Jack's butt, then, well, yes. PG13 >>;;.
I like Eccleston! I think he ears and nose give him a lot of character, and he's sort of sweet because of it ^ ^. That, or I really don't notice looks. Tennant's not exactly sexy, but he's got his own charm. They both have x3... As I understand, all of the Doctors have.
Eccleston was in Elizabeth, wasn't he?
And that's fangirling moment over. -shudders-

I'm willing to give Tennant a chance- sure I'm a little upset that Eccleston's leaving so soon, but meh, there's nothing I can do about it, and Tennant is a great actor.

It's very sad to see a doctor go after 1 season especially since I rather liked him more then I thought I would but even the shortest lived doctor stayed for 2 seasons. Not only that but if they expect us to belive that he is connected to the first series they can't go araound changing doctors so quickly. I personally had hoped for more from Eccleston.

The only gripe I have with it is that a regeneration is sort of wasted.

Fuzzykit The only gripe I have with it is that a regeneration is sort of wasted. Yeah i agree. I think a regeneration works best when the actor playing the Doctor has been in the series for a few years at least.

David Tennant's going to be grand at the helm, he's the funniest actor on TV at the moment period and he has that manic energy that doctors are by law required to have down no problem...although it's somewhat disturbing to think that as this particular Time Lord gets older he seems to get younger with it.
I'm sensing mid-life crisis here, people o.O

From what little I've seen of David Tennant (mostly the regeneration clip at the BBC Doctor Who site) he seems like he'll make a good Doctor, with his charismatic non sequitur and his big grin (not as big as Eccleston's, mind you, but that's probably better for everyone's sanity). I'm willing to give hiim a chance.
