It seemed to Lucrezia that, judging from the fresh puddles on the ground, it had rained during the night. However, that did nothing to erase the smell of smog from the air. It was still somewhat fowl smelling, and there was a gray-green ring around the horizon. Or, at least, there looked to be one.
She sighed and sat down on the dew-wet patch of grass she had found on the hill behind the site, ready to drink the carton of... well... she wasn't sure what it was, but supposedly it was local and healthy... that she had obtained for breakfast. However, it smelled most fowl.
Lucrezia paused a moment, deep in reverie, wondering if not being hungry was worth risking food poisoning.
"What a disgusting morning this is," she sighed to herself, sniffing it again. It still smelled bad, and it was an unnatural shade of orange. Finally, she shrugged and took a sip. It was bubbly and tasted of artificial citrus.
"Chemicals are not healthy," she snorted, eying it suspiciously. Another sip might be risking it.

Ankita had been standing outside with Sarava, trying to teach her new tricks (though whether or not Sarava actually completed said tricks before receiving her treats was a question that would most likely stay unanswered for Ankita.) She held in her hand, as almost always required when out on a walk with Sarava, a bowl filled with fruits that she'd periodically pick at to treat herself.
Small kissing sounds left her lips and she lifted her hand up to signal to Sarava to get ready to jump for it. The Aye-Aye's attention was completely taken by the small piece of strawberry in her familiar's hand, and she sat back, getting ready to pounce. She then, pressing on her back legs, jumped up to grab it with her long fingers, and quickly devouring it the moment she reached the ground.
"Good Girl!" Ankita said, throwing a piece up, which she had expected to be caught by Sarava, but yet again, her aim was not as good as she'd hope.
The small piece of Cantalope landed in the orange mixture that was held by the girl unknown, and Sarava quickly followed in hopes of retrieving it. The stench of it was so foul that not even Sarava thought it'd be worth retrieving. She looked up to the stranger with utter sympathy, Glad I'm not eating that.

Something landed in her drink. That was a rather peculiar phenomenon in and of itself. However, the phenomenon of a girl and a monkey-looking creature aproaching out of nowhere and pelting you with fruit was far stranger.
The peice of melon bobbed to the surface of the drink, which was now fizzing angrilly. Figuring breakfast was a lost cause, Lucrezia closed the carton up and looked over at the newcomers.
"Is that how you greet everyone?" she asked. "By throwing fruit at them?"
Was dumping the drink out an environmental hazaard? Would it burn through the ground and keep going down to the planet's core? Could a drink destroy a planet?
Scary thought. Lucrezia decided to ignore it and through the crue imitation of juice away later.

Ankita heard the plop the fruit made as it landed in the mixture and slowly walked over until she felt Sarava's fuzzy body.
"Sorry about that..." She said, laughing nervously. "I seem to be doing that a lot lately."
Sarava felt the light nudge of Ankita's bare foot and turned to look at her familiar, She sat up on her back legs and reached up to pull down on her hand, and made small clicking noises. Her familiar figured she was telling to give some, not all, but some to the poor girl who's meal they had apparently 'ruined'.
Ankita reached out her hand holding the bowl of fruit in offering.
"I hope we didn't ruin your meal.." She said quietly.
What are you doing. I meant give -some-, not all of it!

Lucrezia frowned down at the carton in her hand and wrinkled her nose. "I think it was ruined before it began, to be perfectly honest." she replied, sighing and looking at the bowl of fruit. Her heart did a giddy dance. At last! Something that more resembled food than chemicals!
"Thank you," she added, taking a few peices of fruit and popping one into her mouth. She chewed it serenely for a moment. Melon still tasted like melon, at least, no matter what world.
Swallowing, Lucrezia continued, "I don't think we've ever properly met before. I'm Lucrezia Falco." Though recently I seem to have acquired the nickname Lukie, she thought. Which I, in all honesty, despise.
"And you and the primate are...?"

Ankita smiled. For once, someone who Sarava didn't right off the bat, try to attack upon first meeting.
"I'm Ankita." She bent down and lifted up Sarava, "And this here, aye-aye, is Sarava."
Sarava cooed as Ankita pet her.

"I don't think I've ever met an aye-aye before," remarked Lucrezia, examining the creature. It was rather exotic. Not like any of the monkey's she'd ever seen, though there was a definite relationship.
"She's lovely," she added, smiling. "Is she in your act?"
Of course, that was assuming Ankita was a performer and not another worker. It seemed like a safe bet, seeing as she didn't live in the trailer with Lucrezia and Wing Ting.

Ankita nodded slightly.
"Kind of, I'm mostly here for fortune telling and seeing." She pet Sarava and rubbed her face against hers. "She's my little helper, huh, arentcha" her voice raised a few octaves and began diving into the obnoxious baby speech range.
"And you do...?

"Right now?" Lucrezia asked, and then continued, "Tent and aerial act rigging. I just signed on recently."
She smiled, twirling some hair from her ponytail around her fingers.
"However, I've been training in trapeze and aerial silks pretty much forever," she smugly stated, hoping it didn't sound bragging or snobbish. "I'm pretty hopeful they'll let me do that soon. It's what I really love.

Ankita had no real idea as to what those kinds of acts were, but only assumed that it must be something mildly interesting since she had joined the circus.
Sarava began to get mildly restless, and finally decided to crawl up to her shoulder, and leap off.
Ankita sighed. "Sarava..." She grunted. "Get back here. Please." But the critter decided to just disregard her and continue walking.
Ankita stood there for a moment, flaring her nostrils in irritation. She hadn't brought her cane and didn't want to bother yet another person in helping her find her familiar, since the last one turned into quite the sour confrontation.

Lucrezia managed to contain the urge to squeal as the aye-aye made a mad dive towards her feet.
"I take it dive-bombing people is an accepted form of greeting here?" she asked, watching the creature sniff her.
"What's she doing?"

Ankita raised an eyebrow.
"Not.. really sure."
Sarava wasn't really doing much but further investigating the newcomer, eyeing her, circling her, sniffing her. She seems decent enough.
Ankita started to make clicking noises. "Come on babe, come 'ere." She began snapping her fingers to call her attention but Sarava wasn't really having any of that.

Lucrezia nudged Sarava gently with her toes. "Go on," she muttered to her. "Go back."
She laughed.
"I'm really not that interesting!"

Sarava sat there, taking the nudges, and slowly turning her head to Lucrezia. I like you, don't ruin that.
Ankita grunted. "This is why I should get a seeing dog. Seeing aye-aye's don't seem to work as well." Her tone was slightly flat and monotone. Of all the people she'd met, Sarava didn't seem to set well with any of them, and she was hoping that she wouldn't drive this one away as well.

Lucrezia hadn't realized that Ankita was blind until she'd mentioned it. She chose not to react out of fear of being offensive.
She backed off on nudging Sarava, and instead offered the aye-aye her last bit of melon.
"If I give you this, you've got to go back to Ankita, d'accord?"
