The fox colored male malu lounged in the shade against the temple wall, eyes half closed as he looked out across the desert that the large building was located in the middle of.

Despite the shade, the male's well-groomed coat reflected what little light there was in shadow, his mane brushed to perfection and the antlers clean.

He had a natural smile upon his maw, frowning always a forced gesture because he was a happy fox in his old/new home. No one here knew him, except for a couple females he had taken the time to introduce him to. Several of these he found himself quite interested in, but he hadn't made a decision yet about pursuing any which one just yet.

Citrine, alone, walked calmy out of the woods. She was on her way to the temple. The sun showed that it was already midday, and it's warm rays beat down on her cream colored coat, warming her on this chill fall, almost winter, afternoon.

The temple was visible from where she was standing and she could see many malu walking in and out. Several pups played near a tree to her right. Their enthusiasm was fun to watch. As she started approaching the temple, she noticed several malu leaving, and one lounging against the temple wall.

Vulperomes was lost in thought before he realized what he was looking at. A pretty female malu was wandering up in the temple's direction.

Standing and stretching with a yawn, as dignified as one could muster, he shook himself of any clinging dust, so that it wouldn't mar his perfectly shined coat. Walking lazily to the entrance, he timed it so he met the female at the door.

"Good afternoon." He spoke smoothly, giving her a soft, polite smile.

Citrine stopped as an unfamiliar voice filled her ears. She turned in the direction of the voice that journeyed to her, seeing a male. His coat was a rich red and cream. Much like that of a fox one would see frolicking in the forest. He was obviously a male because of his stance and his antlers.

Citrine bowed her head slightly, "Good day, sir." She looked back up at him. "Do I know you?" She asked, slightly intruiged by the forwardness of this malu. She wasn't sure if she actually did know him, for she tended to forget those she had run into only momentarily before. This malu did not seem familiar at all though, which caused her to believe he was someone she had never met before.

Vulperomes saw the confused expression on the females face. She looked as though she was trying to remember something, "My name is Vulperomes, we've never met but I couldn't help but notice a malu as pretty as you." He flirted lightly, the smile staying on his face.

He held out a paw politely, gesturing inside the temple, "Pardon me, I wasn't intending on holding you up, but would you like to take a stroll with me?" He asked, almost shyly.

She straightened her posture slightly, inspecting the malu a bit more. Since she didn't know him yet, she was somewhat skeptical as to go on a walk with him, but she had little else to do with her time today, and there would be time later to visit her god. The air was cold and nipped at her nose, which signalled that maybe a walk would warm her bones some.

"Ah, alright then. I'm Citrine." She closed her eyes and bowed her slightly and quickly. "A walk would be quite nice, Vulperomes." His name had a regal tone to it, and made her feel as if she were in the presence of a knight or a prince.

He cocked his head to the side slightly as she bowed, then chuckled lightly, "No need for that dear. One as pretty as yourself doesn't need that kind of humility." He nodded, once again flirting.

Leading the way forward, but slow enough for her to keep up he smiled at her, "Is there any place in particular that you like to go?" He asked, giving her the option of heading anywhere she needed to go, or letting him show her some of his favorite places.

She walked behind him for a moment, then trottd to catch up and walk beside him. She was intruiged by the fact that his coat glistened as he walked, a muscular frame showing through.

"Ah, no. I am under your direction at the moment. I have no where of particular desire to travel to." She was interested in where this malu would bring her. He seemed very mysterious and introverted, but at the same time gave off a friendly vibe that was hard to ignore.

He smiled over at her winningly, "That sounds perfect. I have just the place in mind." He led her along, quickly except for the quiet clip clop of their hooves as they walked.

"Citrine, you aren't afraid of heights are you?" He asked, pausing for a moment and looking over at his companion. Apparently they had walked up quick a slope.

She followed the male obediently, silently walking. At his question, she thought for a moment. Believing she was not afraid of heights, she answered calmly, "Ah, no my dear sir. I am comfortable enough around peaks." She giggled slightly, smiling at him.

She wasn't sure if she actually was VERY scared of heights, as she had never dealt much with them. She was slightly nervous in this regard, but nonetheless, she smiled and padded on behind him.

Vulperomes smiled coyly, then turned and stepped through an opening. Immediately, wind blew across his fur, tossing his mane and ruffling his short hair slightly. It didn't make him look any less attractive however. He turned and smiled at Citrine, "Look at this view." He looked out from the walled in balcony ledge they were on.

Below them the oasis spread, ending and turning into what usually looked like an endless expanse of desert. The end could now be seen, slowly turning into prairie-like meadows, then forests which covered the base of the far-off mountains which were homes for other malu. Everything seemed small, but so significant.

Citrine shook slightly as she stepped through the opening, shivering at the wind that blew over her. She shook her head gently, her hair falling back into place as she looked out over the land that was now, almost magically, set before her. She gasped, the sight was so magnificent.

She could see the Nature Pack moving about on the edge of the desert. The view brought so many feelings to life for her, she could almost smell the fruit of the nature pack being distributed to hungry pups and patient adults.

"It's amazing, Vulperomes." She looked over at him, her eyes still wide with awe. "How did you find this place?" She had never known of such a place and doubted many others knew.

He smiled at Citrine, "I wander a lot. Exploring and finding new things in my home. I like knowing where everything is." He sat down and looked out, then back at Citrine, as though he enjoyed the view of her more than the view of the land.

"Have you lived here long, pretty one?" He asked, not sounding too forward, but with a definite flirt to his tone.

Citrine blushed slightly, his flattering words bringing a pink tint to her cheeks. She looked over at him, eyeing his bright coat in the sunlight. The wind still blew and his hair tossled in the wind, giving him a wind blwon look that she found very attractive, and few could easily pull that off like he did.

She blinked a few times, trying to wait the blush away, before answering the question he posed. "I've lived within the nature pack my entire life." She said slowly, recalling her somewhat lonely past. She was never accepted much, her God of Aridity being disliked for the fact it supported the withering of living plants while most of the nature pack supported it. She gave a little sigh as she continued, "That has always been my only home. And yourself, my fox of the wind?" She placed a kenning upon the conversation, calling him the fox of the wind based on his coloring and the area where they were now situated.

Vulperomes shot a sly smile her way at the nickname, liking it very much, "I was born here, but was raised in the forest. However my home decided I wasn't wanted anymore... so I have returned." He looked out again, "And so I am rediscovering my new home, and making friends to replace the ones that I lost."

He suddenly stood and headed over to Citrine, standing close to her, taking in her scent, "However, homes don't make themselves, it is the malu living within that make it such a wondrous place." Stepping away from her he smiled, "I should be off. I need to head off to my shrine, but may we meet again? Tomorrow afternoon?" He asked casually.
