I was reading the Qu'ran (translated to english so it may not be word for word) when I foundthis in the 2nd sura, phrase thingy 26; "How can ye withhold faith from god? Ye were dead and He gave you life; next He will cause you to die; next He will restore you to life; next shall ye return to Him!" but back in Sura 2:23, "...and therein shall they abide forever."
My question is, do Muslims believe in reincarnation or one life and then death? Furthermore, is there any known explanation for these inconsistencys?
(Sorry for my atrocious grammer too.)

No, we don't. You should probubly talk to an Islamic scholar, but I think what it's saying is that God created you, then you will die on Earth, and then in a spiritual sort of way, your soul will be brought back to life, and then brought to heaven. But I wouldn't know for sure.

I think that is mentioning the day of Judgement Day. It's saying how can you hold faith from Allah. You were dead and he gave you life. He will cause you to die. And he will restore you to life (Bring you back to life from your grave) and you shall return to him (Returning to him for your final judgement?) ...So then you shall abide by him forever.?"
Actually when a Muslim dies, it's some incredibly scary stuff. It has scared me ever since I heard about it. A two-headed snake comes for you and the angels decide where your deeds or sins (the majority of them) are good or bad. If bad you will get pwned by the snake and sent to hell with many tests including walking on a thin line (exactly like a strand of hair). You fall, you fall into a pit of lava (or however it is described).
If good, you will be sent to Heaven. The place where everything is pure. Wish for something and will come right to you. It's so heavenly man, I can't even describe it completely xD.
I don't think we believe in reincarnation. We just believe in life and then death. And then of course as always, we believe the Day of Judgement will come when all the dead corpses will rise from the graves and their flesh will come back. They will be judged.
Also this is a summary of what I've been told throughout my childhood. Just a summary. It's more expanded than this =D

You are basically saying that the way that the Quran describes everything about Heaven or Hell is incorrect. Everything we know about Heaven or Hell comes from the Quran. So I really don't appreciate what you said =/

Well yeah probably, ive been to a private school too and i been taught the same... but dad told me not to beleive in all those graphic details, because God does what he wants to people after they die, no body knows the details and in the quraan God doesnt mention them exactly, he just gives hints soooo you cant say thats absolutely true..it might not be...
