If i wasn't posting this in *our* Chatterbox, I'd shoot myself for posting it at all.

Anyway, fairly self-explanatory - describe to the Fluffy your musical enjoymentisms and such.

I personally am on an 80's rock binge, but I also listen to almost anything from the 60's and 70's and most German and Latin rock and metal I hear. And good Irish music, especially Irish rock. I also like a lot of orchestral material, though I prefer the darker material (the type of organ material you hear in movies like Dracula and Pirates 2) and the type of composition that makes you think "epic" for whatever reason. Y'know, the stuff that's really grand and powerful-sounding. And the occasional really emotional piece, the really strong pieces used in *good* emotional scenes. In terms of specific groups and artists, Fluffy has something of a Top 5 consisting of E Nomine, Pink Floyd, Flogging Molly, Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton.

Now, speak.

I have a soft spot for grunge, although my taste has been splitting between rockabilly and power metal lately.

I'd say that my five favorite artists/bands are

1.) Alice in Chains
2.) Johnny Cash
3.) Finger Eleven
4.) Vivaldi
5.) DragonForce

So yeah, that covers it.

Alice in Chains is mostly dead, what with Layne being fully dead for the past four years. Finger Eleven is a rather local thing for me, being from Ontario and such. And Vivaldi...classical is heart . Although I do like me a bit of Chopin.

I enjoy Michael Jackson.

Ok, I recommend finding some stuff by a guy named Tom Lehrer. He is, I believe, the direct precursor of Weird Al, and therefore the definitive father of "nerdcore".

I like many different types of music. I listen to Christian music (including Gospel, Contemporary, Rock and so on), Rock music (Pop Punk, Punk, Alternative, etc.), J-Rock and J-Pop, Techno, and basically I'll listen to anything except Country, even Hip Hop and R&B.

As to favorite artists, my very favorite is Good Charlotte, and then My Chemical Romance (I'm even in the MCRMY), and also The Used, Gackt, Dir En Grey, Ai Otsuka, BoA, Jimmy Eat World, MxPx, POD, HIM, Aiden, UVERworld, High and Mighty Color, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ben Lee, Miyavi (I adore his new cd Miyaviuta ~Dokusou~), Gazette (See my profile), L'Arc~en~Ciel, Psycho Le Cemu, M-Flo, System of A Down, Malice Mizer, The Mars Volta (I love Amputechture so much!), Moi Dix Mois, Santus Real, and T.M. Revolution.

I like ska. I don't really know many names. I can generally say though that if it's ska, I'll like it.

Charged-up, fun, but not XTREMEDEATHCORE music that isn't ska works for me as well. In fact, generally I like music with little to no lyrics.

Me too, although I don't often hear much of it.

edit: I was referring to the non-lyrical stuff, Ska is not my favourite.

A lot of game music, lots of FF and KH. Yoko Shinamura and Nobuo Uematsu are both godly.

I listen to some rock, some pop, normal j-pop, trance, a lot of anime music...thought my favorites songs change almost daily.
*rambleramble*

Kajiura Yuki, who does a lot of trancey-instrumental music in anime, is also godly.

Random Bands/Singers I'm listening to at the moment:
Breaking Benjamin
MOVE
KOTOKO
Imogen Heap
origa
Gackt
TATU

....And I just realized how many Kajiura Yuki songs I'm listening to right now. xDDD 'A Song of Storm and Fire' is great.
