Im thinking of starting a cyberpunkish band im looking into what instrument I should pick up. Im thinking a synth and im looking for any recommendations for a cheap good brand or any other instrument ideas. eek

Anything made by korg. Seriously, anything and everything that has the word KORG on it, you must buy it. Even if it's a peice of cheese with KORG carved into it, you must buy it and learn to make music with it.

Even if it's a peice of cheese with KORG carved into it, you must buy it and learn to make music with it. KORG cheese...man, that instrument would be cheesy. Personally, I'd experiment with noise. Pick up some industrial tools and take them to 55 gallon drums. Capture the sound. Run it through a synthesizer. Tweak it. Add a dash of Moog to taste. Manipulate it digitally.

Manipulate it digitally. play it backwards, take an audio trecorder to the nearest Iron works, play with that for a while... plasma torches can make pretty sounds...

Mmmm...plasma torches... my brother-in-law recently blew him self up at his place of employment, the local Iron works, using a plasma cutter to cut the lid off a barrel that supposedly had been used to store coolant.... but in actuality had deisel addative in it... boom.

I hope he's alright, because I'd imagine that's a rough way to get hit. he's allright... his right hand's pretty messed up, though... wasn't labeled at all... on the plus side, it helped me talk him into making a CP2020 character..... with a cybernetic right hand of course...
