Karma sat at the edge of the forest, taking a break after the walk from the Nature Pack's dwelling. The morning sun shone through the foliage and the temple was already bustling with malu. The morning was slightly damp from a downpoor the night before, but the malu around Karma seemed not to care that their paws and hooves were becoming soggy.

Getting to her feet, she stretched much like a cat would when it awakens. She wasn't sure whether she wanted to venture into the temple yet or if she rather spend some time in the morning sun. A chill wind blew but she was not cold at this moment, more excited for the new day ahead.

Even though it had been a while since Elina left Mythos after the truth he told her, Mythos still had deep deep thoughts about her and was hurt by it all, but tried to keep happy all the time. He was back to his smiling happy self on the most part, but the aftershocks still came gradually. Roaming this part of the forest that was somewhat close to the river, yet not in visual sight of it, Mythos walked about after seeing someone earlier. Trying to make sure it wasn't a hostile presence in the forestry area, as he usually stood up against the hostile ones, he continued to venture throughout the area, before long seeing a female near the outer edges of the forest. Another female? He thought, raising an eyebrow. "Hey, are you lost?" He asked, walking over to her and eyeing her down, respectfully of course. "I saw you go by here earlier and was searching for you. Didn't see you properly at first so I thought you might've been a hostile Malu." He laughed nervously, feeling sheepish, turning his laughter into that smile of his.

The sun continued to shine down. Mythos of course had not been to the temple for quite a while now as he looked into the distance of where the path that took the Malu's of the forest to the temple. Glancing back at the female, he smiled again, introducing himself. "I'm Mythos by the way! Nice to meet you." His smile grew wider, as his mallard like coloring shined in the sun.

Karma giggled softly, smiling at Mythos. He was colored much like a duck you'd see drifting on the rivers in the forest and she was intruiged by his presence. She bowed her head slightly, politely, "I am Karma. And I am no hostile wanderer." She laughed again, this time at her own remark. "I was just travelling to the temple as I normally do each day."

Karma was surprised one would approach her so openly. She normally wasn't only approached by those she already was acquainted with. Or was asked how to get somewhere. Apparently she looked like some type of guide to some. This malu, Mythos, seemed kind though. Not like some she had previsouly spoken too who seemed a bit more mean. "It's nice to meet you, also. Do you live near here? At the temple?" She was curious, as there were many malu who lived near the temple, but she had never met one who "patrolled" the area.

"Yes I do actually. But I have two homes really. One is much more down south in the forest near the river on the other side. I'm usually around her since the Malu here know me and all. Roamer of the rivers and all." He laughed, the laughter turning into that soft warm smile of his again. "Karma, that's very nice name!" He said, truly intrigued by the name, and her colors! She was one of the more darker colored Malu's. He had seen some before, such as Aion and some around the forests, but her dark coloring and the lighter colors were very unique.

Mythos once again looked at the passage that took them to the temple. He hadn't been there for a while and so, maybe he could venture there with her. "Hey, would like to go to the temple together? I could use the company." He said, smiling again, offering the small friendship trip to the temple. Mythos usually went alone to the temple, but if he had the chance to go with someone, he definately would. Since she was travelling toward the temple as well, he thought it would be nice if they both set out on this journey together to the temple.

"Ahhh, yes, I was on my way there wasn't I?" Karma essentially spoke this to herself. "I would enjoy it if we went together, Mythos." She did hate going to the temple alone, anyways. Having someone with you when you go to the temple is much more enjoyable. The walk wasn't too long, but it can get lonesome.

"And thank you." Her smile from before was still pasted on her face, widening slightly. "Thank you for the comment on my name. If you don't mind my asking.. Does your name mean anything? Does it have any significance where you are from or from when you were growing up? It;s quite interesting and I ahve never heard one like ti until now." She started to walk toward the temple slowly, watching him closely. Trying to read his body movements. She felt comfortable around this male, something that was uncommon for her.

Walking slowly along side Karma, he smiled at her everytime he looked at her. It wasn't uncommon for Mythos to give smiles to any person he met. Whether it was a new person, or good friends, he always smiled to make them feel comfortable. Karma, however, made Mythos smile a bit more. The comfort he felt around her was unusual for Mythos as he had never felt this close to someone just after meeting them. "Yeah, it gets lonely for me on these trips. I'm used to it as i've gone many times by myself, but company wouldn't bad." The mallard colored malu said, glancing over at her, before turning his head and looking straight as he walked along side her.

The question about his name came and Mythos began to go into thought. His parents, his loyal followers, all of that jazz. He was never abandoned by his parents, but rather, they died when Mythos was very young. Gazing up at the bright sky, he pondered on the past before lowing his head back down, looking back at her again with the smile once more. "Well my name originates from my great grandfather, Mythoseus. He used to roam these rivers as well and was a king by royalty. My royalty line stopped, but by no means diminished. I get my name from him as my parents named me in his honor. It means the prince of the rivers. The one that guides and follows the flows of the rivers and roams his familiar sanctuary all in the name of peace. I myself am not always peaceful and fight if it's needed or if anyone disrespects me, but I do try and be calm." He said, smiling wider again as the walk continued through the path and the sun shining from high above.

"What about yours? That's a very intriguing name, where do you get it?" Questioning, Mythos was curious about her interesting name. What he really found facinating was her coloring, but he dare not ask about that as he was shy. Of course, he was very shy around most girls. He tried to show himself as outgoing, but it didn't work and it just made Mythos a little too quiet at times.

She was excited by the fact that he said company on a trip would not be bad. She loved exploring and travelling. Normally she'd explore the forests some, for it was relatively safe there. Her dark coloring helped her to blend in minimally, which was good in case there was some type of predator there. She enjoyed prancing through the forest searching for logs to crawl through or holes to paw at and search. Other times, she'd search the desert by the Pack's home. But the desert was too open and... on may even say, boring.

"That's really interesting!" She didn't have any royal blood in her as far as she knew, and the fact that she was meeting someone who WAS in some way related to royalty was quite interesting. She imagined Mythos dressed in a cloak and wearing a crown in her mind and gave a little, squeak-like laugh.

Karma knew some about her parents, but she also knew that her name wasn't based off that. "My name is based a little off the God I follow. I follow the God of Fate. My whole family has followed it or a similar God. So my parents kinda decided to name something atleast semi-fitting to my God. That's really all I know about my name." She looked at him and blushed slightly, not that one could tell with her dark pelt.

"Hey not bad. God of fate. That's very nice!" He said, his interest rising. He had only met gods of nature mostly, but nothing like fate and destiny. She was very new to him, but also very pretty. Mythos had to be careful though to not let anything out of line slip to embrass himself or make her uncomfortable. Continuing the walk, he didn't mind the desert, but he perfered the forest more. "Ach... The forest is just that much better than the desert." He began, nodding immediately at his own agreement to the statement. "I mean... you can meet many new Malu there. Like a beautiful Malu like you." He said, stopping, as his eyes grew wide and looked at her. That part slipped out without Mythos' consent. "I mean! I uhh... I meant... well... you see... umm... Uh oh..." Mythos said, closing his eyes in nervous reaction and some red on his face.

He had not noticed Karma blushing earlier, but he was hoping he wouldn't get smacked to the side right now. What he said must've been out of line and not so pleasant, especially after JUST meeting with this female. But he did find her very beautiful, but in his mind, he was punishing himself for saying such a thing so fast and letting it slip. Mythos just hoped she wouldn't hate him for that.

What? Karma was very surprised by his comment and was flattered, although a little embarassed also. Her cheeks were on fire and she was sure that one could tell she was blushing now. Her dark fur wouldn't be able to hide this. No one had ever said that she was beautiful.

"Oh.. Well.. Thank you." She felt a little uncomfortable, but knew that he felt equaly as uncomfortable by his actions. "But... There are a lot of malu... To meet there." She was having some trouble thinking straight, unable to focus. She was surprised he let himself say such a thing, or let it slip. Whichever happened. He was a handsome malu, no denying that. But she couldn't just come out and say that. She did not have the will power. She looked away and gave a little sigh.

They weren't far from the temple now, and Karma was somewhat relieved. She liked Mythos, but she felt uncomfortable at the moment.

Mythos was silent for the rest of the trip. From time to time smiling nervously at Karma, he didn't look at her as much. She was mostly blushing, but the uncomfort was clear from her body language as Mythos felt such. As they were nearing the temple, Mythos broke his silence. "Hey listen, I really didn't mean to come out like that. It just... slipped out. I mean sure... you are pretty... but ya... I guess I got nothing else to say after that." He laughed, glancing over at her trying to lighten the mood.

Mythos raised an eyebrow at her comment about other Malu. "You're saying that i'll see other Malu and find them more beautiful? Well... not really no. Sure you maybe right, but i've met you before them, now didn't I?" He laughed again, putting another little joke out on the table as both arrived toward the temple, gazing up at it.

She smiled at Mythos again, nervously, still somewhat uncomfortable. She felt he was jumping to conclusions, assuming he won't find any malu prettier than she, when she knew there were others around. Her own friends, she might even believe. She felt a little responsible for his outurst. Maybe if she had not come out so early this morning, she wouldn't have caused him this embarassment, and herself this nervous discomfort.

She looked away from him, looking to the temple, to the malu walking by them and then to the sky. "You did meet me before them. But your perception of them won't change. Or atleast it shouldn't." SHe wasn't sure what she was saying, what it meant. He seemed like a very nice malu, but this awkwardnes was ruining it. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'm sorry I've ruined our time together... And your day." She pawed at the ground below her feet and then looke dback up at the temple. It's ominous presence added some comfort, as this is where she felt very at home.

Mythos looked at the ground, deep in thought about Karma and what had just happened. He always had plans on lightening the mood, but this one might have took everything he had. "Karma, it's not about beauty. For now, me and you have become quite the friends. Let's just back track and laugh it off." He said, smiling widely and giving a small laugh, trying to lighten the mood. Looking over at the temple and then at her, still smiling, Mythos walked up to the temple and looked back at her. "Well c'mon. Ladies first." the mallard malu said, waiting by the temple entrance.

He wasn't sure if this technique of easing the discomfort was working, but he was trying. He didn't want Karma to get the wrong impression. By no means was Mythos FULLY attracted to Karma, not just yet anyway. Sure, he found her to be pretty, but attracted all the way immediately? hardly. He was merely trying to become friends with her and eventually, if the time kept them together in the friendship, grow closer and maybe then attraction.

Karma looked at him strangely. She knew what he meant and that he wanted to partially "start over." She felt strangely about doing that though. Fate had made him do what he did, and it's hard to undo the movements of fate. Especially in Karma's eyes. Fate had such a firm grasp on her life, trying to ignore it was almost impossible.

She wouldn't back track or forget, but she could pretend to. "Okay, yeah." She walked up past him a little and then posed a question, "what part of the temple are you going to?" SHe knew she needed to ask the God of Fate about what happened, she needed answers.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 18, 2006 11:41 am

Raising an eyebrow about which part of the temple he wanted to go to, he began think. He never really went to a specific place in the temple and sometimes just to be guided by his god, the God of Rivers Flow, but should he do such a thing right now? it seems more logical. "Well, not sure. I Guess by the fountains. But listen, i'll meet you by the fountains." He said, smiling and walked off, quickly toward the fountains on the other side of the temple. Some of the water of the fountains simulated the water of rivers and thus he could listen to his god clearly there.

Mythos' thoughts were scrambled and scattered at what he had done. He cursed his nervousness and always wanted to be a stronger person in will. He had bad control over his words, will and subconscious thoughts, but he was hoping that listening to his god would let him know and realize the peace that he was seeking for the moment.

Karma thought meeting again later was a good idea. It gave her time to go to her Shrine and find out what was happening between herself and Mythos. She still felt bad, but knew htere had to be some meaning in it.

"Yes, we'll meet again at the fountains!" She yelled back at the malu who was quickly making distance. "Now, to find out what all this really means." She made her way through a throng of malu be the entrance to the wing in which the God of Fate resided and prepared herself for answers.
