Vivaldi strode easily down the halls of the temple, he was not far from the rose shrine, but far enough to make him feel awkward. Yet again he had a brown rose tucked behind his ear to give him courage to go on. It was after all for his Goddess, and when it came to her, he would do just about anything.
He had gotten a horrible feeling, it had started in the morning, woken him unusually early. At first, his mind had lead him to the thought that the shrine, or outside garden were being destroyed. But he was soon calmed from his state of panic, when he checked, and realized that both where safe. And after a day of trying to desirer this feeling of sorrow and dread his Goddess was emoting to him. he realized that maybe it was outside the shrine where she needed him.
Swallowing hard he peeked around another corner before continuing.

Aphrodite wasn't in the best of spirits. Granted, she wasn't upset by Malu standards, but for her normally bright bubbly self she was depressed. Her eyes did not hold the distinct sparkle they normally contained, and her footfalls were significantly shorter. She kept glancing behind her, a frown of worry over her maw. Her thin body was held low to the ground in anticipation of demons swooping downwards. Who knew what thoughts placated her mindset, but they couldn't have been good ones.
Of course, this was all within reason, for Aphrodite was making a trip she seldom had to, and hoping she didn't get caught along the way. Any encounters with Malu could be fatal, not to mention she could get picked up by the gods. There was no way she'd shed blood for their likes. She'd rather rot in the desert first.
She reminded herself of what she had come to do over and over. Water. Simply come to retrieve some refreshment from the springs and leave. They'd never even know she'd touched soil.
Her ears twitched, catching the distinct sound of another. Her body froze, along with her mind, and her stomach rose to her throat. She could feel her heart gaining speed in her breast, and she prayed that it wasn't too noticeable. No, she didn't pray, she didn't do such things, she controlled her emotions and she tried to calm herself down. The best thing she could do was appear normal. Act like nothing was wrong. She belonged here.
Unfortunately that was extremely hard to do. It seemed she could grab attention wherever she went for the mere fact her appearance was completely different from the others. She possessed not two, but four wings, arising suspicion from all who passed. With a deep breath and a few swallows of her parched throat she tried to raise herself upwards and appear unalarmed. Whoever rounded that bend was going to see her one way or another, so she had to look absolutey normal, to the best of her abilities.

He should have been expecting it… he reeaaally should have been expecting it, there where plenty of Malu that lived in the temple, he should have been prepared to bump into one of two. Yet, as he rounded the corner he was surprised to see another Malu. A female, but not only that, probably the most beautiful female he had ever seen in his life. Though he only got a glance before he yelped in surprise and staggered backwards almost in fear, he managed to catch sight of two sets of wings, and soft elegant patterns on his fur. If he didn’t know better, he would say she was a goddess all her own. ”haaa” he breathed out, flattening his ears back nervously, an expression of fear, on his face as he started at the female. “hh… hi” he managed to utter. Now that he was in front of someone else, he just froze up, not knowing if he should continue on. talk to her, or just run away.

The other's reaction made Aphrodite's skin crawl. It was all she could do to keep from yelling outloud herself. Yet somehow she managed to hold her composure. Something hard formed in her throat and she fought to swallow it down, her own ears flicking to and fro in uncertainty. For a moment she considered turning and fleeing, never to see him, or the others again, but a sting in her parched throat made her realize she could go no where.
She knew she couldn't waste too much time talking to this individual, she was sure that her position was stamped on her forhead as sure as day. However nice and scared this Malu was now, who knew what he was like when it came to his god or goddess. She wasn't sure she wanted to find out.
"Hi," she responded, giving him a faked smile and pattering towards him. Best to make him feel comfortable. Perhaps he didn't belong here, either, at least not in a certain sense.
"Do you think. . ." she began, and then stopped. He seemed to be so fearful of her that he'd wet himself. Cocking her lower jaw she deemed it best to sit down and wait for the other to come to her. A sigh of relaxation settled over her body as she fell onto her haunches. "Aphrodite," she said, introducing herself. Perhaps giving her name would come back to haunt her someday, but for the mean time she was inclined to give it to anyone who asked, or didn't in this case. To refuse would probably be deemed suspicious and she certainly couldn't risk that. Not with her current position, which she intented to keep.

Leaning back even more as she started forward. And slightly relieved when she stopped and sat down. Though for a moment he could recognize that she was well was feeling uneasy to have company. He guessed she was not very social either. Letting his ears up a little, the rose behind his ear nearly slipped out. Reaching a paw up and carefully pushing it back into place. He resumed his nervous gaze at the female. At the mention of what he guessed was he naming, he blinked a couple of times. “I… I’m called Vivaldi” he said awkwardly. Blushing slightly and bowing his head “nice you m meet you A Aphrodite” He could feel his goddess gently edging him on; he needed to do something for her. But his uneasy feeling about being around others kept him rooted. “A am I in your way?” he continued still sounding nervous.

"Vivaldi," she cooed. "Nice name." The wings on her back fluttered a bit, the other still seemed to be confused. By and by she became more and more comfortable. She doubted he'd figure out her problem as long as she avoided the subject. Then again, she didn't know about the gods, perhaps they were whispering in his ear. Did they know? The thought made her shudder.
"No," she said with a smile. "If you were, I'd simply go around you." She paused for a moment to think. She had to be careful how she asked or it would certainly arise suspicion. She didn't know how easily the water was to find around these parts for she tended to avoid contact with these area.
"Actually," she started up again. "I was wondering if you might help me." She rose onto her feet, but stayed where she was. There was no need to alarm him with any sudden movements. She might be going the wrong way.
"I need to find a fountain. I've been wandering around for hours, but I'm afraid I've completely forgotten where the majority of them are." She laughed at the stupidity of it. There was no way anyone would fall for that!

“Ah” Vivaldi breathed nervously, glancing around. He didn’t know of to many locations for the fountains, he knew of a couple he could guess where in the aria around the rose shine shrine. But his water source was more private, and not to mention far better in his opinion. “Ah well… I um… I don’t really go to the fountains… I find them to be very… bland?” He blushed a little guessing he didn’t make any sense. “If.. If its water you’re looking for, you’re free to use the rose water I make with rose petals.” He swallowed, sounding awkward “I… Its not to far from here”
He loved helping others. And he was well aware that his nervous attitude he had when ever he was around adults, often shut them off to either trusting him, or really wanting to be around him. He knew that eventually… one day he would have to learn how to talk to others… for the sake of his Goddess and the roses he spends all his time growing. Maybe he could try and start with her.

For a moment Aphrodite was sure that he wasn't going to tell her anything. He had caught on to her secret and now he was looking for a way to escape and tell the others. An excuse, he only needed one, then she'd have to flee, without water. Death was nearly imenent.
Then he said something unexpected. "You make water out of rose petals?" She was in awe. It sounded so beautiful and serene. She decided that even if she hadn't been thirsty she must try what the Malu spoke of. It was so farfetched of an idea it must be true.
Aprhodite didn't even suspect it as a trap. In fact, the thought didn't even cross her mind. She felt suddenly safe, as if the fact someone made their own water made them the most trustworthy person in the world.
"I'd love to use it, if you'd care to show me." She nodded her head, showing that she'd follow him if he lead the way. "Water made of petals . . ." she whispered to herself, shaking her head.

Vivaldi flushed some more, he was sure she was glorifying it in her own mind, though part of it was true, possibly not to the extent she believed it. “Ah… well, its not exactly creating the water from the pestles, though part if it is… I- in a way” he said awkwardly Finally he just looked away. Truth was, no one could make thins kind of water but him; maybe it was something to be proud of. His face flushed a little more, he got to his feet, and started to lead her back to the rose shrine. Still worried about this feeling his Goddess was giving him. Knowing there was something he had to do. But he didn’t see that harm in helping this female out first. Besides, It’s not like the shrine was far. Ears pressed back he led her carefully back the way he came, trying to think of something to say to make the trip less awkward, but not seeming to have the will to say anything. He didn’t start calming down till he smelled the familiar perfume of the roses he cared for. Walking down the last hall into the shrine, red and pink Rose bushes covering the walls. Large beautiful blooming roses covering it. He smiled softly ears perking up a bit, as he entered the shine. Roses of every color seemed to greet him, as they seemed to glow a little brighter with him around. “Um… its over here” he said walking her over to a small pond in the corner. The water was crystal clear, with many different rose petals floating along the surface. (if she drinks it. it has a very clean, very soft fragrance to it, and tastes as roses smell) (ok that’s all if she followed him. if you choose to do it different let me know and my next post will be in reply of that XD)

Aphrodite cocked an eyebrow. His sentence was very contradictory, but she supposed that came from being a bit nervous. Shrugging, she set off after him, following with a gentle and elegant step across the parched temple landscape. He definately seemed to know where he was going - so quickly he went. It gave her little time to look about her surroundings. Intriguing place, it was.
The trip was made in complete silence. He said nothing to her; she found no need to speak. It wasn't awkward for her in the slightest. Living alone she was used to such solitude and quiet. In fact, she rather liked it. It wasn't long before a faint scent reached her nose, growing more pungent the farther they traveled. There were roses here, afterall. Perhaps there was no rine or reason to worry, but she wouldn't let her guard fall down just yet. Had she known there was a godess of roses, perhaps she would not have drank, but not being exposed, Aprhodite still remained naive as to the temple works.
She slinked after him, her head low - mouth agape in wonder at the hundreds of flowers which emcompassed every corner of the shrine. A small gasp came from her mouth, but she was quick to stifle it. She barely heard him point out the small pond in the corner. It seemed so obsolete compared to the beauty of the roomset.
However, with such a thirst to be clenched, it was certainly the most important thing in the room. Licking her lips greedily she bent her muzzle into the cool water, sipping slowly but strongly. It had a nice flavor to it, though she'd never been the biggest fan of the rose smell. It tasted strange on her tongue; yet comforting enough to keep drinking. She assumed it was an acquired taste and that perhaps the well waters were not as pure as the Malu would wish. Finishing, she rose her head from the water. Liquid dripped down from her chin, tickling her senses slightly.
"Thank you," she told the Malu. This is what she had came here for and she knew there was no way to stay. Anymore time wasted here might reveal discovery. Especially if her son came waltzing in here - which she highly doubted. Then again the boy had a knack for ruining things. Shaking her head, she tiptoed towards the exit.
"Perhaps I'll see you again sometime." She knew it was a lie. She wouldn't come into the territories for all the rose water in the world. This was a once in a life time thing and she had absolutely no intention of ever knocking on his door again.

Vivaldi preoccupied himself with preening a gray rose bush, leaving her to drink the water in peace. It was nice having others in his shrine. Though he would much rather have children around… but females where still less nerve racking then males.
He gently caressed one of the roses with his nose, and turned back to her at he heard her stop drinking. “Your welcome” he answered quietly. Then nodded slowly as she turned to leave. Though the thought made him kind of sad. He didn’t enjoy the thought of a females company as much as he used to. They frightened him more now, so, maybe it was best that she left. “your welcome anytime” he replied. Turning his face down to look at the grass by his feet. Vivaldi wondered why she was acting so cautious; he had not seen any other malu acting like that. He supposed she might have been trying to avoid someone, or maybe she was just jumpy and enjoys her solitude. “h have a good day miss…”
Nothing left to do now but find out what was worrying his Goddess. He wondered if he could do that in time.
