The lion reclined peacefully on the grassy earth, white belly exposed to the sun, his paws tucked against his chest, tail flicking lazily about, his pale eyes closed against the light. It was a beautiful day, surprisingly quiet around the den, his son must have been off exploring somewhere, mercifully leaving his daughter in peace. His jaws parted in a broad yawn, paws reaching upward in a rolling stretch. Speaking of his daughter, he wondered what the small tan cub was up to, perhaps she was nearby the den, enjoying the den as he was.

As if on cue a delighted peel of giggles swept into the den from outside. Kani had discovered the wonders of the "snow flowers", which when pounced or blown on, sent dozens of dancing puffs of white frolicking into the air almost as carefreely as the young child at play amongst the grasses.
Just seconds after the laughter first sounded, it drew closer, and Sheshe'kani came bounding back into the den with a broad grin on her muzzle.
"Daddy~!" She squealed.
Rushing up alongside of the big male, slowing, and trying to climb up onto his stomach. When she didn't have any luck there she went on to excitedly inform him of her discovery as she instead decided that his mane was as good a place as any to burrow. As she did so, her matching pale eyes slid shut, a small purr rattling her frame and his cheek as she nestled close, her pelt littered with the little spores.
"Daddy, guess what I found? I found these, these flowers, and when you touch em they fly all over the place like lightning bugs! They're soooo pretty daddy! I wanted to pick some for you and mommy, but they keep falling apart!"

One dark ear flicked, swiveling to catch the sound of a familiar laugh, a small smile crossing his maw. Ah, there she was, and from the sound of it she had indeed been enjoying the day. Hearing the sound of little pawsteps, Juhudi tilted his head, blue eyes settling on the form of his daughter. She was a beautiful girl, with a bright cheerful smile that lite up the room, and a laugh that sounded like a song. He couldn't help but be proud when he looked into those pale eyes that matched his own. "Hello there, enjoying yourself today?" His voice was soft and kind, a gentle smile on his maw as he watched her antics, eyes following her movements as his ears followed her words. A soft purr rumbling in his own throat as he nuzzled his cheek against hers, cherishing the time that she still wished to be close to him. "Really? Well I bet they were pretty, just like you are." He smiled warmly, though it seemed she had brought the flowers home without knowing it, and he couldn't help a small laugh at the tiny specks of white that dotted her tan coat.

"Yup! Are you, daddy?" Kani beamed, purring even harder and curling up right next to her father's considerably larger form. She wasn't even old enough yet to outsize his head, maybe the size of one of his paws, but she never seemed intimidated by his size. She adored having his attention, a complete daddy's girl, where as her mother just marvled at how different Sheshe and Shin were. Almost exact opposites!
Her brother and his usual antics were far from Kani's mind, though, no, the little lioness was too busy basking in her father's warm praise and affection. She just loved him to pieces, and treasured the time that they spent together.
Suddenly a thought hit her, and the child sat up, blinking owlishly round and bright eyes in curiosity.
"Daddy, where's mommy and Shin-shin and Toto?"

"Mm-hmm, but it's better now that you're here." His smiled broadened, rolling to his side so that he could see his daughter without twisting his neck, but not enough to disrupt the small cub from her place curled in his mane. That was something he never grew tired of, and a part of him wished that the little one would stay small so that such times would never end. "Hmm, that's a good question. I imagine Shin and Totoro are off playing like you were. Perhaps your mother is outside relaxing in the sun. We could go find them if you like?"

"That's okay. I like havin' you all to myself!" She grinned, watching Juhudi as he shifted to look at her more comfortably.
It was then that she eased up onto her haunches with her forepaws resting lightly atop of Juhudi's nose. She stared her father in the eye silently, smiling, at first.
"Can we go somewhere new today, daddy?"

Juhudi smiled at his daughter, his nose wriggling slightly under her weight, one ear flicking, laying comfortably on his side, one foreleg crossed over the other. "Well that's perfect then, because I like being with just you too." He lifted one paw, lightly poking at her teasingly as if to tickle her for a single moment. "Somewhere new? Sure, what did you have in mind?"

Again the child giggled, dropping back down to all fours before him in surprise before voicing her desire. She knew exactly where she wanted to go, she'd never been before, and was curious to see it for the first time up close. It wouldn't last, this boundless energy and bold curiosity. As she grew it would eventually begin to mellow and calm until she really was more and more like a mix between her father and uncle Jini.
"Pride Rock! I wanna see Pride Rock! It looks like a great place to play, doesn't it?"

A light rolling laugh, as the lion shifted from his side to place four paws on the ground, he should have guessed. Pride rock was indeed entrancing, standing out in the middle of the lands like a towering giant watching over it's domain; how much more it must have been to a cub. "Alright, we can go there." Rising to stand on his paws, Juhudi stretched his limbs starting with the fore then the read, then shaking from head to tail to lose the dirt from his hide.

The small cub made way so her father could get up, sidestepping to watch, bouncing on all fours excitedly, pale blue eyes dancing jovially.
"YEAH! Can we climb all the way up to the top, daddy?"
Of course they could, daddy was big and strong enough to do anything, so even if she got tired he could probably carry her if he wanted. So amazing... And you know? Great-grandma Ju-ju lived there with Great-grandpa Daim, and all of Kani's great-aunts and uncles, so maybe they'd even run into one or some of them. She didn't usually get to play with them since they lived so far away from the rock where the royal family stayed.

The top? It seemed she had that adventurous streak as well just as her brother did, it made the young adult smile, pale eyes glancing to his daughter as he stepped from the den, exhaling as the sun shone on his pelt. "Alright." Looking toward the horizon and the rock that stood proudly over the lands who's name it bore, Juhudi paused to wait for his daughter, paws searching for a pace that she could best keep up with. They might need to ask if it was alright for them to climb to the top of the rock, but they'd have to get to the rock first.

Small paws carried her swiftly into motion then, picking up stride alongside her massive father with a perk in her step. She so couldn't wait! She'd bet even Shin hadn't gone to Pride Rock yet, maybe she'd be able to tell him and Toto all about it, though she doubted he'd want to listen. Oh well.
As long as she got to spend the day with daddy, it was fine by her. Daddy would always pay attention to her and listen when she was upset, even if no one else did, and in turn she'd always be his little girl, even when she grew old like mommy.
