i started a new job last month with the city library and i love it. the people i work with are pretty cool as far as co-workers go, but there's one woman that has helped me a lot. she trained me in everything i needed to know, and has been super nice and helpful.
the only thing is that i haven't heard one good thing about this woman since i've been here. honestly, every person i've talked to has said that she's a liar, is prejudiced, has mental issues, and is a back-stabber. i didn't want to believe it, but i've already seen signs of her prejudice and back-stabbing. she told me that her husband is 1/2 black, but i heard from another co-worker that he is white. i guess she lied to appeal to my 'blackness', but i really don't care who she's married to. i just don't understand why she was so nice to me, but would lie to me about something like that. it makes me not want to talk to her at all...
has anybody else had a crazy co-worker like this?

I don't have co-workers like that... but I work at the movies so we have alot of employees... We have the ones that you think are only children and were home schooled cause they are SO socially inept. And then we got the ones that talk... and talk about the most random, un-conversational stuff.. ever. But we had a bi-polar employee who was CRAZY. One minute he was nice, the next he was cussin people out. And then one night he threw hot sauce all over the breakroom and ripped down safety posters.. so yeah. He got fired... he was insane.

Hey, I work in a library too. xd
She's probably nice to you since you're new. If she's really like how people say she is.
As for me, my co-workers aren't crazy. Some annoy me, though.

one thing i find at work is that you meet the strangest people....

Though I don't work, I still hear my parents talk about the crazy co-workers at their jobs. So I guess the only advice I could give is to try and ignore them or just tolerate them as much as possible.

You have to deal with them no matter what to get where you want to go, which can be to retirement, to a promotion, or even just to the end of the week and a paycheck. biggrin I have learned to just ignore them, because, at the end of the day, I'm going someplace else and leaving them and any drama they come with at work, if that makes sense. I also have stopped going to work looking for people to do anything more than tolerate me, and I don't expect to be able to do any more than tolerate my co-workers--we don't have to be friends, like...ever. xp

My co-workers are so crazy. They run around with chainsaws chopping down trees, repell off moutains and jump out of helicopters into wild land fires. Those crazy kids.
