To satiate the swarms of fangirls, and to eliminate multiple Labby threads, all things of and relating to Labyrinth shall go here! Ready? Good!

Though if anyone wants to make a Sir Didymus appreciation thread - by all means do so... wink

Labyrinth is one of my all time favorite fantasy movies of the 80's (One of the others is another Henson creation, The Dark Crystal.)
I was so excited when it came out. I was already vaguely familar with Bowie but this movie just cemented me as a little fangirl. (Now I am just an obsessed old cook)
I am obsessed with that little blue british worm as well and often quote the line "it's so stimulating to be your hat" (I absolutely adore Brian Freud's designs for this flick). The puppets were just amazing, and Bowie's pants I don't think could have been any tighter. I wonder if he suffered heavy damage from them sweatdrop
Sorry for rambling. I am a Labyrinth freak. One day I shall own the Freud print of Toby with the goblins I swear. I just wish he would have done a painting of the Goblin King as well, that would just be so utterly beautiful.

Hell yeah, his work is amazing. I got this book called The Goblins of Labyrinth (I think?!?) which has all his sketches and a background for each goblin. It was one of my greatest inspirations for drawing throughout my childhood.

Keeners. I am pretty sure that is the name of it too. I love Froud (whoops I mis-spelled it, that what I get for staying up all hours), he is great guy too. He signed my Faeries' Oracle Cards for me at a convention. Toby actually sold me the cards. (the Toby from the movie which made me feel old because he was just a baby in the movie)

lol, that reminds me of some review I saw of Labyrinth where they said that Toby was a puppet, and really fake looking. I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about domokun

That is one heck of a confusion. He looked quite real to me. If Toby was a puppet, Henson must have created Pinocchio.

there are a few shots in the end with toby where they actually move the film backwards (the crystal bouncing into his hand) and probably when he's throwing him up into the air during 'dance magic' but other than that.. XD I highly doubt that.. XD theres a book all about the making of labyrinth- they have it @ barnes and nobles sometimes- I'm sure it contains the real truth! heart

Yeah there are a few scenes where it does run in reverse, and the scene where Jareth throws Toby in the air is a doll. But 98% of the time it was a real baby. His eyes are the same. He grew up nicely I must say.

I thought this was his best movie. He was awesome! He sang really well and he wrote all of the songs himself. Bowie is the only one who could have played Jareth well!

I heard that Mick Jagger was up for the role first??? eek

Bowie did a better job that Mick ever could in my opinion stare
