I was browsing my library, when I thought struck me... Lolita books! I'm not talking about Bibles (althoguh I think it would be awesome if my library would purcushe some crying My dreams!) But I was thinking of victorian novels. Novels set in the Rococo period. I don't know of any, I was just asking if anyone knew of anything.

Here are a few books that I read when I am in a Lolita mood:
1.Alice in Wonderland (of course!) 2.The Ordinary Princess by M.M. (A story about a princess who is given the gift of 'Ordinary' by her fairy godmother) 3.The Dark Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop (High Fantasy. In a dark magic world, a Queen is born to restore order. Not for under 15 though. Deals with alot of mature stuff) 4.The Book of Flowers (I don't know where you can get this now, but it's a Victorian book that says what each flower's hidden meaning is) 5. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, and it's sequel Rebel Angel (Fantasy in the Victorian period!) 6. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (Is there anything really to say?) 7. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (It speaks for itself) 8. Kamikaze Girls (The english translation is done by Viz)

When I was younger I read the American Girl books with Samantha in them, they're set in 1904. I love my Samantha doll, quite loli.
But those are really short and for younger kids.
I don't know what to suggest. I read fantasy and vamprire books. haha. Anne Rice, Garth Nix, and Stephen King are my fave authors.

I think anything by Oscar Wilde is a good choice. He was very much into the art for art's sake movement of the late 1800's in England, meaning he appreciated the aesthetics that Lolita partially stems from.
Plus, The Importance of Being Earnest is just plain hilarious. I was reading it in public (a hospital waiting room) and my friends kept trying to take it away from me because I was laughing so loud.

lol, her character was sooo not Lolita, though. xDDD; Oh, she was so tomboy-ish at times.

Le Black Lace +Loli Lace+ There are a few, i can't remember any, but i do know that i love some Bronte and such. Kamikaze Girls was a good little novel in my opinion. heart Ooh yes, I love Charlotte Bronte! Jane Eyre is a classic. More of a Gothic romance than lolita but still a classic nonetheless. That one is really good. I almost quit halfway through, but my friend said the second half was by far the best and made me read it at loaded rubberband-point. I also like Wuthering Heights a lot.

When I was young my mom bought me a book called "Little Women". I can't remember who he author was, but it was set in the 1800's about four sisters who work on a farm and search for love, and try to be proper and quaint. It was a very touching story. whee
I reccomend it. I'd love to see a little Sweet Lolita sitting at a bench reading it. It's the picture perfect scene. heart

Personally, I like Persuasion best, though Emma's pretty damn funny as well.
