The rhythm's messed up and so are some of the rhymes. *sigh*
Will you remember me when I am gone?
Will you hold me close when I have died?
Will you join me in my funeral song?
Will you honor the tears that I have cried?
Will you cherish the moments that you have missed?
Will you long for the path that we’d together once tread?
Will you hunger after that one last kiss?
Will you regret the words forever unsaid?
Or will you despise me in my final moments
Condemn my words and last confessions
Will you hold in contempt the wrong path I’ve chosen
And scorn the mistakes and foolish blindness?
Will you refuse my truth with those empty eyes?
Will you still deny the pain inside?
It isn’t for me, but for you that I cry
Because you’ve lost your heart, despite all I’ve tried.
But still, I wonder, why you begrudge me my tears
Why you act like I’m poison
Why you mock my fears
Where is the sin in fearing loss of love?
Where is the sin in these bitter cries?
And where is the sin in contrition’s blood?
Where is the sin in wanting you to be mine?
I know not the answers, but all the same
I hope that in penitence, you won’t regard me with disdain
Will you forgive me when I am dying?
Will you forgive me for all my crimes?
Will you forgive me for my lying?
Will you still blame me at the end of time?
I beg forgiveness for welcoming the dark
And allowing it tear my mind and soul apart.
Forgive me for this curse: love’s “ever-fixéd mark”
Please,
Don’t behold me with hate for giving you my heart
