Lemme say this first: This is NOT about them as lovers or anything. crying ; People here don't seem terrible at misreading, but out in the 'Gaia World' people look at a title and then start talking, ignoring the post. I don't want that to happen.
Anyway, topic question: In any of the books, is the start of their relationship hinted at? I mean, is it said how and why Anita met Edward? I'm once again stuck at home sick, and have decided to use my illness and write lots and lots of fanfiction whee I want to do something dealing with Edward and more of Edward's past, but I need to know about his and Anita's first.
I feel silly asking this question, I really do, but I have....two of my Anita Blake books. NiC and ID (Which I've stopped reading because I'm mad at it. And Artemis Fowl is proving interesting whee Worship 12 year old cocky smartalecs!).
Anything will be highly helpful! biggrin Thank you~!

Well it says that they worked together to take out a house of vampires a long time ago. I always thought they met because they were put on that case together. Like they were both going out slaying vampires and ended up with the same stake poised at one undead corpse. Then their shakey... understanding started.

I agree with Layla DVanouse. Or they could've been trying to kill the same vamp. or possibly, Edward wanted to meet the "Executioner" since he's called Death? I don't know. From what I can remember, I think that Edward went through this secretive military training by a dude (I forget his name, I haven't read Obsedian Butterfly for a second time yet), Van Clief or something close to that I think. You could do how Edward is always competitive with Mickey, Duese, and "Simon" in the training or something. Just a suggesion.

They didn't know Edward was.....Edward.....at first, did they? Only by something or a look in his eyes did they realize it. I mean going way back though >_o like so far, in my roughest copy, I have it when Edward finally dies. As in, he's what he is in the books......not a lot of feeling. I think I have it as Edward shooting some girl (He started with people first, but they got too dull XD I love Edward, cripes!), and a man walking in saying about how it's finally happened. Something cheesy and story-like like that whee Anywho....*_* Thankies to ya'll! <3 I doubt I'll go that far in him meeting Anita, maybe end it with his getting that contract. Anybody know good ol' Ed's age?

Rereading the series right now and there is no official reference as to the first time they met. While there is talk about the flamethrower vampire home incident, it doesn't mean that was their first meeting. It may have been that they knew each other prior to that.

I agree. I never got the feeling that they met on that case. I think she acted like she really trusted him on that case and she doesn't trust anyone after she first meets them (except Micah of course and I just won't even get started on that one xp ).

That was a good question since I'm not too sure about their first meeting myself. I also now want to reread OB. It's been a few years and I've forgotten quite a lot. Need to refresh my memory.
And just out of curiosity, why are you mad at ID? I havent finished reading yet and I'm almost sure I can guess why you stopped. I also haven't checked the ID thread here so I apologize if you already stated why you're mad at it there. I just opened it one day thinking I didn;t care about spoilers and the first few posts made me change my mind xp So I won't visit until I finish reading.

All the sex is getting old. If I wanted to read LKH write a book with tons of sex, I'd re-read the Merry series. Anita Blake caught me because of the action and the cases, because of the way Anita acted. Now, Anita is...=P she's different. And the books aren't nearly as joyable.

^ Agrees with Bobsthename...
It is sort of ambiguous in how they met... part of the fun of reading books involving Edward is that you always learn something new.

I would love to know how they met. I would also like to know how Edward won Anita over. At the start of the series, she didn't trust anyone, but she trusted Edward with her life. I want to know more!!!
