Victor had woken up early and tried to call the labs up on the intercom to figure out when he was supposted to start his internship but nobody answered, Victor waited a while and tried again but with the same result.
With nothing else to do, Victor decided he wanted to explore the island and the beaches he had heard about from Dr.Moreau.
After a short walk from his duplex, Victor had found the path down to the beach and spread out a large towel and put on his sunglasses before laying down on the towel.
'Wonder where everyone else is' Victor thought to himself

Chubbs had come to this conclusion while living out his final change, he had alot of energy, a huge appetite, and a wanting to hunt. With this in mind, he came up with a solution...... fishing. Having no luck in the river, Chubbs decided to see if he could catch some shallow water fish in the ocean and headed down the soreline, slouched over like a neanderthal.
He passed other along the beach, waving to them and watching their faces, it wasn't new to him. He was almost about to give up on his idea when he happened across a guy hanging out on the sand. Chubbs again gave a curteous wave.
" Howdy!"
It was then that out of the corner of his eye, he noticed something moving in the water. Chubbs turned and spied the small fish and grinned, and with that, pounced into the water head first.

Victor had been laying in the sun for some time, and had just started to doze off from the warmth, when he woke back up at hearing "Howdy!"
Victor yawned, and sat back up, looking for the person greeting him, just as Chubbs pounced into the water. Victor's eyes hadn't quite adjusted to the light yet and he couldn't see the person clearly. "Hey there hows it going?"

Chubbs reeled his head out of the water, shaking it vigorously, for two reasons. One he looked like a wet mop with all his fur and wanted to shake it out, the other was he had caught the fish and was shaking the crap out of it. Flicking his hand off he turned when he heard the voice of the guy on the beach, taking the fish out of his mouth.
" It's long and lazy, thanks for askin"
Chubbs chuckled a little in amusement and slapped the fish against his knee, tossed it into the air and snapped his teeth over it, chewing it to pieces.

Victor sat up and shielded his eyes from the sun, even with the sunglasses he wasn't quite sure who he was talking to. His eyes focused on the fish, watching it fly up into the air, and then get snapped up in a big pair toothy jaws.
His heart literally skipped a beat as his stomach clenched in fear, his mind suddenly comprehending what he was seeing
A Bear, a really big ******** bear Victor thought, but it wasn't like any bear he had seen on the discovery channel
"Holy s**t!" Victor yelled as he fell back on the sand and pushed himself back, his foot catching on the towel and momentarily getting tangled in it in his suddenly rising panic to get out of there, and away from this Bear...thing.

Chubbs crunched on the fish, the bones and scales turned butter between his teeth. It was an okay catch, nothing fantastic and tasted alright, could have used some ketchup. Chubbs heard a cry of alarm and looked up in surprise. Flicking the fur out of his face, he saw the guy scrambling to run away.
" Hey!... what ever you do, do not run!"
Chubbs cursed with every bad word he could think of. Was the guy a freshy? or was Chubbs that horribly scarey? He just didn't want him to take off running, for as soon as he did, Chubbs would want to chase him, which would make it alot worse.
" Think for a second!, I'm eating fish, if I wanted to eat you I would have already!"

Victor only managed to get halfway up to his feet when he attempted to run and only ended up losing his footing and falling down, only vaguely feeling the hot sand against his skin, turning around to look and see if the Bear was any closer, and saw the bear....talking to him?
What the hell? this has got to be a dream, Bears don't talk, curse or give out advice..
"Then what are you going to do with me?" Victor asked, his heart still beating fast, still not understanding if this was a dream or why he was talking to a bear or why the bear was talking to him..

Chubbs raised a brow and looked at him confused. Do to him? he didn't have to do anything, or wanted to for that matter.
" What to you suggest I do? hump your leg?.... I'm not gonna do anything to ya...."
Chubbs thought that over for a moment then added to it.
" Except if you run... cuz I like to chase things...something I can't control."
Chubbs decided that it would be best to probably just sit down, get dried off some and try to calm this guy. Yeah right, try having a general conversation with the alien out of Predator, not gonna happen. Okay, the guy was freaked, it was understandable, so Chubbs tried to figure some way to keep this guy's sanity intact.
" Okay... look I'm not going anywhere see?... just um... how long ya been here?"

Victor was equally confused, and took off the sunglasses that had almost fallen off his face alright, I'm talking to a bear...and he's talking to me..
the main thing that stuck in his mind was the warning not to run...and as long as the bear didn't go anywhere, Victor wasn't going to either.
Victor slowly sat up, brushing some of the sand off of him before standing up, slowly going over the bear's question in his head.
"I just got here yesterday"
Don't run Victor, its a dream, don't run and the bear won't chase you..
Dream or not, the temptation was still pretty strong for Victor to take off running

Chubbs winced and grumbled, he was the worse possible person on the island to be explaining this stuff. Oh hey guess what, you are going to end up like me... yay! Chubbs rubbed his brow with his thumb and fingers, this was really agitating, the island needed a pamphlet.. " So you're about to become an animal.."
" Okay... listen carefully... I'm not a freakin monster, or a bear.... sorta. My name is Chubbs and I'm human.... I've just been... changed"
Chubbs sighed, he'd rather put his nuts in a vice than do this.

Victor watched Chubbs, morbidly facinated but still afraid at the same time,
still unsure if this was a dream or not, if it was, it was the most realistic he'd ever had, he hoped he wasn't hallucinating or anything.
"Well...Chubbs ...I'm Victor..."
Victor looked around, and put his sunglasses back on, the sun was awfully bright. He put up his hands as he tried to think this whole thing through
"Whoa, whoa, slow down and tell me whats going on? I'm just supposed to be the Intern here, and you're talking about becoming an animal and being human but changed..." Victor scratched his head and rubbed his eyes " I'll agree with you that you're not some freakin monster, you're talking to me, not trying to chew me up like that fish but I'm still far from understanding what you're talking about"

Chubbs decided to get this over and done with, rip it off like a band aid as it were. So he took a deeeeep breath.
" The reasons you were told you were brought here was a lie the island is a giant test lab for experiments on changing peoples DNA into an amimal's or in my case three animals you've probably had an injection said to be to stop diseases but it is the serum that will eventually change you and there's no way off."
Chubbs caught his breath and panted fro a bit, this would either confuse the guy or crack him, either way Chubbs just didn't want to sit there for hours explaining it all.

Victor stared at Chubbs, he was certainly too real to be anything out of a dream, the fur, claws and teeth, all that was real, but if this wasn't a dream, it had to be a joke right? Victor knew some people liked to joke around with interns but this... was beyond anything he'd ever experianced.
"Wait, what about an injection? the only thing I got injected with was a vaccination..." Victor shook his head Never did ask what disease the vaccination was for, or even if it was nessessary, you just let him inject you with something you have no idea what it was other than what he told you Victor told himself, trying to figure this all out in his head, It had to be a joke, people don't get injected with strange serums and turn into animals.
But something else Chubbs said caught his attention, making Victor furrow his brows
"No way off?"

" Sorry to put it bluntly mate, but you, me and everyone on here are F U K T ******** thought about it hundreds of times over and it always shot him into a bout of depression that was very bad. He singhed and folded his arms across his chest.
" This is no joke, but we are in the middle of no where, surrounded by water, the only way here is by boat or copter which the island has defenses against. The helicopter here is guarded by heavily armed people, and all they have to do is say your name and a chip in the back of your neck knocks you out. You've been here a while, so I say ya got one."

Victor rubbed his eyes again, listening to what Chubbs said.
He's right about one thing, there are plenty of guards around, why would they need so many guards if this was just a research facility and hospital?
Victor thought to himself, to him it didn't seem like Chubbs, the first person he'd seen since yesterday, would partake in such an elaborate lie, If it was one Victor told himself, he was still sure it was a prank of some kind, he could stand to play along and be laughed at later. Unless he's telling the truth...then who'd be laughing? Victor cursed himself, and walked back over to his towel, spreading it back out and sitting down, and waved a hand offering for Chubbs to sit down and join him.
"So Chubbs, how many others like us are on the Island? and when would these changes start?"
