Tara lay outside the opening to one of the inner corridor, the only thing keeping her from pacing was sheer will power. She tossed her head, her black flop of hair tossing over the other side of her face. "Gah! If I knew something like this would be happening I wouldn't have let Elu near him! Gods!" She couldn't help herself, she stood up and began pacing. "Why now of all times? Why now?" She knashed her teeth together as she paced.
Elu was down the corridor alone because she wouldn't let Tara near her, something about 'wanting to be alone for this'. Tara growled against and began pacing faster. She needed Tara! Why was she being so stubborn? This was not the time! With a loud, "Raargh!" She flopped down onto the stone and wriggled about, "Dammit, Elu! Why the hell won't you let me help you?!" She huffed angrily, seriously considering taking her frustration out on anything that moved near her.

"Crap...why now? why now???" Aion grumbled as he sped through the corridors of the temple, his hooves hitting the stone floor echoing behind him. Listening about as he ran, he didn't know what had come over him as he just had a feeling something was wrong with Elu. It seemed everytime he left for the sublevels...something bad happened with her. It was insane. Turning the corner, Aion heard angry yelling that belonged only to one person - Tara; and where there was Tara there was Elu.
Quickening his pace, he turned another corner and spotted Tara whom had flopped to the ground in an angry huff. Slowing down to a trot as he neared her, his eyes scanned for Elu...concerned when he did not see her near. "Where's Elu?" He asked, slightly out of breath, eyes still wandering about the corridors as his head tilted, catching her scent as his paws slowly began to lead him to where he thought she was.

Tara raised her head as she heard the loud pounding of hooves. Her eyes narrowed at him and she stood up slowly. She scrambled forward to block the entrance to the corridor that led to Elu, "She's...otherwise occupied, at the moment." She replied hastily. Staring coldly at him, "And she asked that no one go see her right now." She narrowed her eyes at the black malu, "Specifically you." Hopefully the male would get the hint and not try to go bother Elu, otherwise Tara had Elu's permission to stop him however she could.
She didn't like how Elu was acting, but she understood and accepted it and would make sure her wishes were carried out. Her tiny wings attempted to mantle as she arched her back protectively. Her golden eyes glittered darkly, a hint of sunlight glinting off them. Despite her hurt at not being allowed near, she couldn't wait to see the little ones.

Returning her cold stare with ease, Aion thought for a moment about the situation. He could easily get past Tara and see Elu, yet he was guaranteed to get beat on by a very, very hormonal Elu. This was something which was quickly over-rulled in his head, Aion was stubborn, but he wasn't stupid. Growling in frustration, he turned his head in a huff and stalked over to a shadow before dropping to the ground.
Yet despite all this, a small grin kept on his maw. Even though Tara added in the Specifically, she wasn't allowed either which dropped her in the same category...so it made Aion feel a little more at ease.

Tara narrowed her eyes at Aion, "Why are you grinning, brother?" she asked coldly, using the term simply because she didn't want to use his name, "I expected you to put up more of a fight." She sat down in front of the entrance, having no intention of moving from her spot until the sun moved a bit and she went to check on her sister to see that everything was alright with her, even if she'd get her head bitten off.
She let out a sigh and looked down the corridor, ears perking to hear a sound, but there was nothing. She turned her golden eyes back on Aion, assessing him coolly. She doubted he'd make a good father, he didn't seem to have the atttude for such things, but for some reason Elu believed he would stay. Tara wasn't about to believe Aion, but if her sister said so, she'd have to accept it.

"Oh, just thinking, Sister." He returned her gestures as she did his own the last time they had met, every bit as icy as her tone. "Specifically she didn't want -us- there, or you would be at her side, now wouldn't you?" He mused, yet somehow, it just wasn't in him today as he sighed. "Why fight when i'm bound to get beat from the two of you? If I was ever to pick a fight with you...I wouldn't have it today. Last thing I need is more little brats to take after me after seeing us fight."
Aion laid his head on his paws, keeping his good eye locked down the hall where he could hear the soft noises Elu made occasionally. So this was it, in a short time, he was going to be a father. The notion really didn't bring a flood of emotions he had heard occasionally from other Malu, it was more of nervousness that something would go wrong to make Elu sad - and that did concern him.

Tara growled, she hated it when he was right, "Believe me, if we fought, I would never let it near the children. That isn't right." She sighed, "The waiting is killing me." She growled again, "Gods!" Without meaning to she began pacing, though still in front of the entrance-way. She still didn't trust him not to see what was going on.
She turned slightly to look at the sun, and without a word stalked back into the dark corridor, only to emerge a few minutes later, looking amused and a bit scared, "Definitely not going to stay with her." She mused aloud, "She's scary when she's in pain." She turned at looked over at him, "One's out. Elu says it isn't the last." She yawned and licked a bruised paw, "It's a girl, if I'm any judge." She glanced over at him, to see his reaction.

"I agree, neither would I." Aion said plainly, knowing full well what violence at a young age can do to a Malu....he being a prime example. Turning his attention to Tara as she paced back and forth impatiently, he chuckled very faintly as she was acting more like the father than he was. Then again, his fatherly instincts hadn't kicked in yet and he wasn't sure if they ever would.
Raising a brow as she dissapeared back into the shadows, only to emerge again with a bruisd paw that he knew was most definately from Elu, Aion shook his head and stood. Moving out into one of the nearby courtyards, he found the plant he was looking for and took a leaf off the bush before returning. Moving up to Tara, he placed the leaf on the ground and stepped on it, leanding his weight into it untill it broke some of the skin, dewing up with liquid. Moving the leaf to her paw, he gave her a stern look, "I swear, you both are impossible. Just keep this on, its a peppermint leaf, will keep your paw from swelling and keep it cool." He stated before returning to his shadowed spot against the wall. Listening to her observations, Aion looked back down the corridor for a moment, thinking, before laying his head back down. "Its been only a month and a bit and alright i'm completely outnumbered by females." He sighed in an almost funny mannor, first it was Tara and Elu...now a daughter, with his luck they would all be females...and he would lose his sanity while dying on the inside.

Tara laughed, "It's what you get for being such a stand-offish male." She replied, giving him a ghost of a smile. She lifed the bandaged paw and licked the leaf into place, "Good enough. You have my thanks." She turned and looked back into the dark corridor, "Is it just me, or am I acting more worried then you?" She raised an eyebrow at him, faintly amused, "You'll be an interesting family, I'll tell you that. The nicest girl in the world, having children with the most dark. A bit ironic if I do say so myself." She growled low in her throat, "I want this over. Patience is not my friend."
She shook herself all over, "Gah!" she knashed her teeth, "I want to go check on her again!" she plopped herself onto the ground and wriggled against the stone, "Rrrrrr!" She straightened suddenly and below wisps of hair out of her face, "Nyah. I apologize. I have little patience with things, the fact that all I can do is wait, is making me nuts!" She looked over at him, wrinkling his black nose, "Aren't you nervous?" she asked, her ears twitching for any abnormal sounds coming from Elu's place.

"Feh." Aion shrugged, figuring his god was having fun tormenting him since he hadn't been following his faith like he used to after meeting up with Elu. Turning his attention back to Tara, he grinned and nodded, "No, it's not you...and I have to agree. You sister is crazy in my opinion." He said quite calmly, he wouldn't have believed it if he wasn't living in it. Often, Aion didn't know -what- Elu saw in him. "Geeze, settle down, you're worse then those birds in spring." He commented, rolling his eyes.
"You're just going to get beat again, might as well stay here..and not really. I'm more nervous for Elu, most of the things I feel are for her now." Aion spoke, yet his ears perked as he stood up looking into the darkness yet he did not move from his spot. "I heard them..." He spoke, having caught a gurle of infant cries.

Tara's ears perked, Eh...? She turned and scrambled through the opening, running through the corridor before bursting into a dimly light room. Elu lay in a corner of the room, curled around four little balls of semi-dry fluff. She raised her head slightly as her sister came in, "Hey, I thought I told you not to come in." She spoke, exhaustion clear in her tone. Her coat was matted with sweat and her flop of dark hair even darker because of that was well.
She lifted her head more and nosed one of the little ones into a better position. They were all contentedly asleep as she lay curled around him. "Aion here?" She asked vaguely, eyes dull from being so tired. One of the babies-the most white one-mewled a bit, and moved away from the other to nestle in her small tail. Elu chuckled, "Someone's already being anti-social."

"God, Wait why don't you?" Aion hissed, bolting after Tara as she lead the way to where Elu lay. Upon entering the dimly lit room, his eyes adjusted almost immediately after being in the sublevels for so long...quickly making out Elu plus four little balls of fluff curled about her. Although his face expressed no emotions as per usual, if one was to get a glance into his orange orb...one would see a small sense of wonder in the depths. Stepping forth as he was inquired about, his feet led him over to Elu as he used his nose to push her matted locks of hair out from her eyes with a quiet, "I'm here."
Turning his head slightly towards the little ones, he took a step foreward and inspected each one, all looking like little mixed versions of Elu and himself. It was rather eerie...yet he knew he would get over it. Upon reaching one of the babies as he sniffed the little mostly black one like himself, he was startled when it woke up for a moment and latched its little mouth over his nose. Raising his brows, he pulled his nose back as the little one once again drifted to sleep. Another one, mostly brown, simply made a low grumble as Aion nudged it slightly, to which he frowned. "Hmmm, This one's already at it.." he figured the same with the white one which segregated itself from the rest. Only one seemed to be a bit normal, as it was curled up right between the other two...yet also had traces of..navy? "What's up with this one...?" Aion asked, peering at the colour which both Elu nor he shared on their pelts.

Elu looked up at him and smiled, "Yes." And with a slight frown she nosed the little one in question, "I don't know...perhaps she take after one of our parents in colors?" she asked a faint smile gracing her lips, "I remember my father had a bit of navy on him, the wings tips. He was based off a blue-jay." she shrugged and lay her head down next to them, "What do you think, Tara?" she asked quietly.
Tara shrugged, "She could have a bit of dad in her." She agreed, bobbing her head. She didn't move toward the new family, she kept slightly off to the side, not wanting to disturb them, "I think...I'll go get something for us to eat." She suggested and left the room in a hurry. Elu returned her attention to her mate and the babies, "So...what are we going to do now?" She asked softly, looking up into his one good orb, "We're stuck with them." A smile played across her lips, "Are you sure you don't want to be with them?"

Lifting his head up, he glanced to Elu before shaking his head. "It wouldn't be my parents, they were black, red, white, orange and Some gold. It's been that way our whole line." Figured he would be the one to break it after all these years. Glancing as Tara ran off to get them something to eat, Aion walked back over and laid down beside Elu, using his muzzle to shift her head to rest on his forepaws.
"I told you my conditions, Elu. However, I think those two might be trouble...so I may stick around a bit more just to make sure. Now rest, because you stink and should bathe after." He said with a smirk, resting his head down beside her own as he closed his eyes. Yet as he did, the mostly ebony one woke up once again, using its wobbly baby legs to crawl over to Aion and nuzzle into his stomach before sleeping once again. Cracking open his good eye, he glanced down and sighed before returning his head to its resting spot. "Brat." He muttered before falling asleep.
