Ignore everything you’ve hear, everyone who told you such were telling you horrible lies. Vampire, Demons, Witches and Darkness; these aren’t evil things by nature, they aren’t wrong. The perception of good and evil is in the eyes of the beholder, and everyone has a different view on justice, right and wrong. These creatures and things mentioned earlier, sure many of them act differently, but they live under different rules and laws, and by following them they are doing good. Even without considering these things, all creatures are not born good and evil, but must be nurtured to be such. Yes a vampire drinks human blood, but this is to survive, it’s their lives or yours. There’s also the case of Angels, seen as the most pure creatures ever to grace you with their presence, but not all are good, the creature seen as the foulest of all creatures in Christian views is an angel.

This tale takes place in a world brimming with darkness, not evil. Almost every foul creature ever mentioned in a fairy tale or scripture is seen in this world, an alternate dimension only accessed through powerful magic or special portals very well hidden around the world. Here, days are only 8 hours long, nights lasting for the remaining 16. The nights are illuminated by stars and the moon, also floating candles seen along almost every walkway, street or path, except for those meant to be kept in complete darkness.

Lately though angels have been appearing within this world, holy angels with messages from the heavens above for King Hoaram of the Dark World. No one knew what the messages were, until preparations of war began. Everyone began assuming that the Bright World had declared war upon their own. A tournament was held, summoning all warriors and mages of all sorts to battle to become one of grand warriors of the Dark World. Each one took upon a name (Chaotic, Impure, Corrupt, etc.), and with their newly gained titles became the hope of the Dark World.

Profiles:

Role Player’s Name: WinglessFairy
Characters Name and Title: Lyrae Nitengael, Dark Wanderer
Race: Ice Dragon Youkai; sub class, warrior mage
Appearance: (pic coming)
Strengths and Weaknesses: Ice magic, Darkness magic, Poison magic; weak to fire, and strong earth magic/ extremely bright light (or moves such as Holy)
Special Abilities: Death Bringer; after she's fought for a certain amount of time, her sword berserks her and unleashes an ultimate darkness attack that sucks in all light and heat, bringing the whole place to a subzero temperature and an absolute darkness
Bio: Lyrae was never born, only created; she has no soul; she fights for self preservation, not knowing why, and searches for the answer to why she exists

Role Player’s Name: Dema
Characters Name and Title: Janul, Eater of Worlds
Race: Shadowstepper. Has the ability to step through dimensions, even without a portal. Her sight works differently than most, which is both a help and a hinderance. can see several dimensions at once, which makes her slightly flighty, and makes it difficult for her too see what's going on in her present dimension. Over time, she's gotten much better at this, although she still occasionally ducks for no reason.
Appearance: Small, with large, almost hobbit-like feet. Has dark black skin, with eyes literally in the back of her head, with a white fuzz serving as hair. Has several fingers, which she says she uses to "feel the threads of the world." The tips of her fingers fade into nothingness, lending credibility to her claim.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Small and quick, Janul uses superior dodging abilities, stealth, and of course her racial powers. Frightening intelligent and has a knack for languages, due to all her dimension traveling.
Although extremely effective when used well, Janul occasionally gets lost in her dimensions, since time and space are different. Once, during a fight she vanished for three years, appearing in the exact spot believing only a few seconds had passed. Another time, she appeared several feet in the air, only winning the fight because she fell on her opponent. These are rare circumstances, but do happen.
Special Abilities: Mentioned.
Bio: Janul goes by several names, some good, some bad, but the most famous being Legion, the great monster that destroyed two worlds by bringing the dimensions together, one of the worlds being her home. Although her motives are unclear, tales say that the Shadowsteppers were fighting an ancient enemy, the Tg'rul, who had the ability to kill creatures with a glance, that had been contained in an empty dimension, with no portals leading out. However, some Shadowsteppers betrayed the worlds and set the Tg'rul free. The enemy race began their takeover by invading Janul's homeworld, and, with little time until the threat spread into other dimensions, Janul saved a small few, then destroyed the two worlds.
This act has never been repeated (and never will be in this rp), and was only accomplished because of Janul's deep knowledge and connection with her homeworld. The ability to transport things with her requires the Shadowstepper to know the object extremely well (so no grabbing random people's heads and decapitating them, unless she knows them very well).
The few surviving Shadowsteppers have sworn to destroy her, not only for their lost homeworld, but for all the innocent Tg'rul that were

Role Player’s Name: Angelic_Illusionz
Characters Name and Title: Glaidden, The Malicious
Race: Vampire
Appearance: Piccy ^^ I be smexy
Strengths and Weaknesses: His race is particularly fast and strong, and because of their immortality to time, he’s also quite wise. Of course sunlight causes his skin irritation and after too much exposure will knock him unconscious and even kill him. He’s also none too fond of silver and holy magic, and needs to consume blood to survive. He’s a very talented warrior, but is also proficient in the darkest of magic.
Special Abilities: Glaidden has no innate special gift, but one given to him by his mother. The jewel he wears around his neck is a gift from the Gods. When this dark prince is in danger, it glows brilliantly. The true gift is the power the jewel grants, which is the body of a deity. He becomes the horrible god Malice, he who manipulates the fires of Hell. He is in no way immortal as the god is, for if Malice senses a mortal’s life threatening blow it was dismiss itself from Glaidden and leave the weakened prince to fend for himself, for the jewel uses much of Glaidden’s own energy.
Bio: Glaidden was once a prince in a long forgotten realm of the Light World, adopted into a wonderful family filled with laughter, happiness and hope. But, as the young child knew, good things never lasted. His entire family was wiped from existence, leaving him to attend to an entire kingdom at the age of five.
The child became very miserable, learning to hate everything, and eventually became a very cruel ruler, even with the words of his advisors. He decided that if he must be unhappy, with nothing at all, everyone else would feel the same way. He even went as far as to torture his own prisoners, and when he was hungry he’d sentence random citizens to death and feast. His people soon learned to despise him, and his race, no longer trusting the undead.
The creatures that linger in the dark smiled in the shadows, for Glaidden, whose birth name is, was born into one of the vampires’ royal branches. He was taken back to the Dark World and taught about his heritage. His birth parents, which of course only conceived him through magic, were assassinated long ago when the Dark World was constantly at war. So it was declared that the prince of the vampire would be sent amongst those who cherish the light, so he would be safe from harm.

Role Player’s Name: murderface
Characters Name and Title: Murdre Faze, the Blunt
Race: Human/hedgewitch
Appearance: Tall and rangy, long dreaded brown hair, looks about mid30s, pale blue eyes, pale skin. A plain face with a nice easy smile. Wears moss green cotten shirts tucked into dark green pants. Her boots are sturdy and brown leather like her jacket. Much of her skin is covered in henna brown tatoos of various herbs and vines all intertwined. Carries a walking staff and a old patchwork bag that smells of herbs. Has a magpie familier called Ekle the Eater of Eye-jellies.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Mostly good at potions, poisens and human wood magic, has a exelent memory for rituals. Strong and fast with the staff, has tracking and hunting skills. Magic isnt often fast, a powerful spell needs time to prepare. Is mortal, although has some life preserving safeguards about her.
Special Abilities: Blends in anywhere.
Bio: Was born in a forest that was always a little of both worlds, she is about 60 years old, she was born into a strange mysterious family that coould never decide what world they were of. As her skill started to greatly exceed her mothers she delved deeper into the dark world and find herself a place.

(And we start. Anyone can join at any time, actually it’s encouraged ^^)

Glaidden sat in the lobby of the luxurious hotel, The Unpleasant, drinking from a golden chalice adorned with bloodstones. The drink was a given due to his race. He was watching one of his many slaves polish his weapon. He was particularly fond of this boy, wearing very little, as was accustomed for the slaves of vampire. This was so their skin was always in view, removing all obstacles from its owner’s snacking. With an awkward smile he tilted his head back onto the armrest of the couch and lied there. He was to wait for the others before speaking with the Celestial beings of light.

Janul appeared in the room suddenly, ending up on the top of a bookshelf. "Damn," she muttered, glancing around the room suspiciously. Her eyes landed on Glaidden and she smiled wryly, "Hey Leech!" she called down cheerfully, "What year is it?"

The Shadowstepper had taken up that line as almost as a sort of catch phrase ever since she lost three years in a teleportation. However, this occurance hadn't kept her from teleporting at every opportunity; if anything, it had increased her enthusiasm. She knew that the Elders had somehow discovered eternal life through teleportation and dimension manipulation, but such knowledge had been lost when...

Janul's eyes unfocused for a moment and she, with some effort, derailed her train of thought. Soon, her mind was filled with safer thoughts, mostly about muffins. Damn she wanted a muffin. With chocolate chips. She might have to visit an alternate dimension to get one though, in this one good chocolate was something of a scarcity.

Lyrae walked inot the lobby slowly, her belted boots echoeing softly against the tiled floor. the room was perfumed thickly with some odor, and it bothered her nose. She eyed the occupants, wondering which had summoned her.

Glaidden glanced at both women and smirked. One was odd and the other peculiar. What a shame, he was so looking forward to fighting along real warriors. Then again, he had seen them fight in the coliseum, their final matches at least. He snapped his fingers and his slave quickly finished and retreated to his side. “It’s the year of war Shadowstepper, and you’re just on time. We’re to wait for some angels to come and brief us on what the situation is, considering only Beelzebub and trusted council know what the hell is going on.”

He snapped his fingers again and his companion quickly produced a Muddwort Cigarette, lit it and handed it over. Glaidden took a long drag from the cigarette and then resumed. “Apparently all of Dark World is wrong. We’re not fighting against the World of Light, but instead we’re aiding them. I don’t know why though. What ever it is, I say we let it play with those celestial freaks for awhile.”

(Don’t worry I’ll be introducing the Angels soon to explain the situation. I just think I’ll give your characters another post or two ^^)

"Whatever," Janul said with a shrug, continuing to crouch atop the bookshelf, "sounds interesting, and I haven't done anything interesting since the exploding plague in Krawar." She glanced at Lyrae, tilting her head to the side. "Have we met?" she asked, thoroughly inspecting the newcomer.

"It is doubtful." She said, eyeing both occupans with distrust. She slowly peeled off her black gloves and stuck them in one of the pockets on the inside of her dark leather coat.

Janul continued to watch the new one intently, her expression almost frighteningly intense as she scrutinized Lyrae. Suddenly, her serious expression shattered into a disturbingly wide smile, as if she'd found something in the female's face.

"We shall be friends," she proclaimed mock solemnly, stretching out across the length of the bookcase luxuriously, lying flat on her back. "And I shall call you Blackie," she said, still with that faux serious tone, looking at her new friend upside down.

"The name is Lyrae. Lyrae Nitengael." She said curtly, not even glancinig at the offered hand.

(Large post, have fun ^^ This is where the RP begins.)

Gaidden chuckled at them. Perhaps he wouldn’t get along well with his comrades, or maybe they’d even create a great bond between themselves. It didn’t matter; to him they were only there for support. He could handle this on his own, the fighting at least. It would be nice having these two around to carry his things. His nostrils flared though and his gaze turned to the door.
A holy presence filled the air as the winged celestial beings entered the hotel, their noses high with disgust, for while the building was beautiful and extravagant, the paintings and tapestries adorning the walls, along with stone sculptures here and there, all depict things they find horrible in their society, such as the devouring of babies, grand demons engulfing entire villages and cities in infernal flames, etc. Even the inhabitants of the hotel were found disgusting to them, with their scales, slime, and flames and scarring. Those of the Dark World were usually far from pretty by human standards.

There were three of them, women and a man. They were dressed in white silk, the women in loose dresses, their golden blond hair falling down in curling tendrils past their shoulders and breasts. One held a golden bow and the other a sword with diamond edge. The male was easily identifiable as the one in charge, carrying no weapon and wearing robes. All of them looked like young adult humans, despite their wings and the halos.

They moved with grace and meaning towards the group of Dark World warriors, removing their fowl looks from their faces with ones of delight and pleasure. Only the male spoke. “Greetings children of darkness. It is my great pleasure to be able to speak with all of you, despite the poor situation that we have come across. The Light World, much like your own Dark one, is an entire realm of it’s own, each bordering the land of mortals. Through out the years, everything had gone by smoothly with little conflict between the worlds, until recently.” He waved his hand in the air, as if it were something that was more of a nuisance than a problem. “Apparently our oracles, which happen to be the best of the best, have received news of a powerful force that not only threatens the existence of our world, but yours as well. We’ve warned your superiors and now we’re briefing you.”
He took in a deep breath and took a step back, allowing the angel with her bow to continue. “The threat resides in the realm of mortals, or at least it will originate there. It’s been decided by both rulers of our parties that the warriors of Dark World will be handling the investigation, search, and possibly even the destruction of this thread. We’ll aid thee when you call for us, for we’ll always be watching. But alas, we have no time ourselves to run off on errands, for those of the Light World are quite busy.”
The other lady then continued. “This is all that needs to be said. We’ll leave the situation in your hands, along with our coins.” Each angelic figure placed a coin upon a table nearby, and then vanished in a brilliant white light. While these celestial being spoke it was as if no one could interrupt them, and on each coin was a summoning ritual to call the angels. Everything was very self-explanatory, but far from appreciated.
