 Ash was wishing that she had worn something warmer. She was still having a bit of trouble figuring out the Japanese weather. She had expected it to be much like her home in LA, but she supposed the mountains made a big difference in the temperature.
Ignoring the chilly wind on her legs, she pulled her coat around her tighter and reached up to adjust her glasses. Looking out across the quad, she found some perfect photo ops for both the yearbook and her photography class. Smiling, she swept her hair out of her eyes and raised her camera to snap a few shots of the laughing students spread out at various stone tables and on the large green lawn.

 The air was cold and clear today, that meant great things for Kazu. With his love of skating, rollerblading and all the other things that ranged from crazy to insane; cold weather was best to engage in them. With a fully customized pair of yellow and black rollerblades on, Kazu sped through the University grounds. Jumping over concrete benches and grinding down stair rails Kazu was having perhaps the most fun he'd had in days. He'd been stuck in a series of boring lectures, though anything that wasn't about mechanics was boring to him.
After quickly dodging a pair of freshman girls, Kazu flipped around to skate backwards waving at them, "Sorry ladies," he called showing off with style. Jumping back around, Kazu made a long jump down a flight of stairs coming into one of Ashlyns frames without realizing it. He'd been just a bit off on his landing, though he managed to keep off his butt. "Phew close one," he muttered with a smile happy to find some obsticles to jump over or flip over. His parents called him crazy, he thought it was fun.

Ash blinked as her shutter closed just as a young man jumped into her shot. Continuing to snap away as he landed, she smiled and pulled her camera away to get a proper look at him. Stepping forward, she smiled and reached up to try to tuck some of her hair behind her ear as he righted himself.
"Are you alright?" she asked, looking up at him and catching an amazing shade of blue in his eyes. "I, uh... hope you don't mind, but I managed to catch you on film. Do you mind if I use the shots for class? They're pretty amazing," she smiled and held the camera out a little as proof.

Looking over at the voice, Kazu smiled. Awesome a girl, and a hot one at that. Course as his grandmother always said, 'Girls will be the down fall of you', Kazu ended up skating over a twig and tripped. It all happened in a blink of the eye. Kazu had a moment to throw his arms over his face before he landed hard on the ground, skidding to a stop on his side.
"Ow..." he muttered before sitting up. Great way to impress a girl, fall flat on your a**.

Now that was a new one for her. Cursed with the worst case of clumsiness, Ash had to take a moment and be thankful that that had not been her. But as soon as that moment passed, she dropped down to the ground beside him with concern in her dark brown eyes.
"I guess I should have saved my first question till now," she laughed a little and reached up to adjust her glasses. "Are you okay?" she asked and quickly looked him over for any visible signs of injury. Retuning her eyes to his a light pink washed over her cheeks. He was really hot and had such nice eyes. "I'm so sorry if I distracted you," she smiled a bit sheepishly.

Rubbing his head sheepishly, Kazu smiled. "I'm fine, I've had worse falls," holding up his arm he tapped his elbow where the shape of elbow pads could be seen through his jacket. "You said something about photos. Are you a photographer?"
Good one Kazu, of course she's a photographer, she's talking about taking photos and has a camera!
Keeping a bright smile, he pulled his legs up into a crosslegged postion.

"Oh... yes," she smiled, and glanced down at the camera she still held, her attention being brought back to the task at hand.
"I was taking some photos for the yearbook. You know, campus life shots and all that, and you managed to jump into my frame," she smiled, looking back up at him and pulling her coat tighter around her as a gust of wind blew by. "Would you mind terribly if I used the shots I took of you for my class? They're really amazing action shots," she asked with a hopeful look in her eyes.

Perking up, Kazu smiled. "You want to use pictures of me for your class?" he asked, tilting his head. "I don't mind at all." Something that Kazu had learned from his father was to watch people, to learn what a simple movement meant. "You're cold." He said suddenly before hitting his forehead, "Ahh I meant. You look cold. Would you like to stop by the cafe and get something warm?" He asked trying to smile brightly as he felt like an idiot. He could pull a full 4 flips in the air on a motorcycle but he couldn't ask a girl out.

He had such a nice smile. It was even in his eyes and it made her smile more.
"Thank you. I really appreciate it," she said, reaching up to shove her windblown hair out of her eyes. His next words and antics caused her smile to grow brighter. Laughing a little, she glanced down briefly, before looking back up with a small nod.
"I would like that very much," she said, as she shoved her camera into her coat pocket. "I'm Ashlyn, by the way. But everyone calls me Ash," she smiled as she pushed herself up to her feet and held her hand out to him to help him up to his.

Sighing in relief when she didn't just laugh at him, Kazu smiled again. "Awesome. I'm Kazu.. everyone calls me Kazu," he said before getting to his feet. After having such a magnificent fall he stood up with the grace of a dancer.
The goings was slightly slow at first, with one walking and one skating it was hard for them to get a pace. "I have a question. Would it be okay if I picked you up?"

Ash blinked a little at his question and glanced down doubiously at his skates. She wasn't so sure if that would be a good idea. But surely he wouldn't have offered if he wasn't sure of himself.
"Um... sure. Why not?" she smiled, looking back up into his eyes with a small shrug of her shoulder. Pausing in her walking, she waited a little nervously for him to pick her up.

Tilting his head for a moment, Kazu studied her frame before smiling brightly. Bending at the waist, Kazu placed one arm at the back of her knees and one at her back. Lifting up he picked her up in his arms like one would a bride. He had to keep his legs farther apart for a moment before he smiled. "You're light as a feather," Kazu said before starting forward.
They traveled slowly at first, before Kazu became more confident with his moments and soon the buildings were flying by. Kazu never once jumped or did anything that might have scared Ash. "I'd have put you on my back, but since you're in a skirt it wouldn't have been nice," he said as the air rushed by. He sounded just a bit winded but no more then someone did when they were running and talking.
"You have beautiful eyes."

Ash took a deep breath as he lifted her up and did her best not to tense up too much. She didn't want to throw his balance of. Slipping her arms around his neck and shoulders she laughed at his comment as they started moving forward. Keeping her eyes on his and concentrating on not moving too much, she felt extrememly safe and secure in his arms and pressed against his chest. If it hadn't been obvious before, she could definitely tell he was an athlete by the muscles she could feel through his shirt and coat. His compliment caught her completely off guard and an instant wash of pink colored her cheeks.
"Thank you," she smiled warmly, tilting her head a little so that her hair would fall away from them.
"You're really good at this. Skating I mean," she smiled. "I'm not so sure I would be quite so agile," she laughed a little as they cut through the wind.

Laughing as they rounded a corner, Kazu smiled. "Thank you. I do this as a job and a past time. I have a contract with a local BMX circet. I race and compete once a month, it's a lot of fun," he said before smiling again as they came to the cafe.
For a moment he just stood there, holding her comfortably in his arms. She smelled amazing, and her hair looked wonderful when the wind was rushing through it. "Damn.. we're here.." he muttered, smiling down at her.

She liked his laugh. It was warm and inviting and she listened avidly to his reply. Now she was just impressed, she thought with a bit of a smirk. When they arrived at the cafe, she did not even notice that they were no longer moving or the fact that he was still holding her so closely.
"I hadn't noticed," she smiled, continuing to look into his eyes for a moment. But then his words really sank in and she blinked as she glanced away for a moment before returning her eyes to his. "I suppose we ought to go inside and warm up a little?" she suggested, though she was reluctant to pull away from his warmth and closeness.
