What kind of parent raises their child to be a fanboy/girl? Discuss.

They dont. The child plays a game excessively and becomes a fan of it or a character. Then if they become annoying about it the boy/girl part is tagged on to mark them as an irritating fan.

>_> At least that's the way it seems.

That'd just be creepy if they did that, it'd be all like..

Parent: I shall teach you the rules of, um.. life, yeah, that's it, life.
#1. LOVE LINK DAMMIT, LOVE HIM! Or no milk and cookies for you!
#2. Bite anyone that doesn't.
#3. Let your mind rot, LET IT ROT I SAID!
#4. Always kick chickens. (>>; )

And then in highschool the kid goes around biting people and attacking them and stuff. >>;

Meh, fanboy, fangirl, fan, it's all the same. There're just like.. extremist fanboys, fangirls, and fans. I think I'm kinda an extremist fan/fangirl with anime. >>; ...*Hugs imaginary Gaara plush* ._.;

Kids see and do what they see on TV. They also wanna follow the crowd of cool kids.

One kid gets into a fad.. his friends follow.. some become attached to it.

I'm a fanboy, I'm just very good at keeping myself under control. xp

There are some good fanboys. It's the rabid fans that are horrble.. such as the ones who flame people for disliking a video game.

Well, if being a fanboy doesn't necessarily include attacking other people (verbally or otherwise) with different opinions, then count me as an Armored Core fanboy. I guess you could kinda say that I "spread the word." I have just about convinced several people to get it, (such as Ember xp ) and when I took it to the Commons game room a couple days ago, (they have 4 tvs, each with all 3 current consoles xd ) about a half-dozen AC players decided to get the newest one, since they didn't know it was out.

And back on topic, people become fanpeople when they play one game that is really popular and few/no other decent games. The lesson? If you're going to play video games, play a variety. It's also a good way to keep kids off of drugs. (they won't have any money! xp )
